Which of your holdings has done 100% since beginning of 2024?

80% of people in the crypto space and the newbies joining the space are focused on accumulating BTC and other popular altcoins like ETH, SOL, XRP and a host of others. I have been doing same for quite some times also but I recently discovered one can make a duffle big bag of money without holding any of this coins.

If you have been paying attention to the market, you will observe both BTC and ETH haven't done 100% of their prices since the start of 2024 whereas there are crypto projects that have surge exponentially as far as 400% and more. Am not talking of memecoins.

Just today, I was reading an article about ONDO and ZEEBU, while ONDO is a tokenized RWA, ZBU is a loyalty token designed to facilitate seamless global transaction and incentive users for successful settlement . Both tokens have surged exponentially over the last couple of months.

I agree that nothing compares to holding BTC as against any other altcoins but utility of some certain tokens like the two listed above is fast growing and adoption is on the rise with both token enjoying over a billion mcap from there little beginnings indicating a high demand for the project.

I have a feeling unpopular crypto projects are going to be the highest gainer of this bullrun but positioning for the right ones poses a great challenge. What are your thoughts?

Still going to be 50/50 in my opinion. There could be a lot of unpopular coins that will easily makes x10 or higher in this bull run. But that question is how you gonna find those needles in the haystack?

And if you ever found it, will you invest 100% of your capital on it.

So for this unpopular coins that you mentioned, there is a big risk that it will be successful or not. But I will assume that those who have been in the market for so long will rather stick with the proven coins like Bitcoin and other solid altcoins and they could have been accumulating bags full of this coins since the bear market.

Also, be careful with the new tokens that highly skyrocketed easily after the exchange listing.
Even though we see its great benefits, we also have to check its potential in the future. I'm not someone with very high targets and I'm not a high risk taker either. Hence, it would not be too difficult for me to pick up tokens that could skyrocket very significantly in just a few moments after listing. But even now, both of them are still fighting. whether it will continue to survive or vice versa. However, I have not yet been able to take this as one of the long term investments. I'm still picky, Bitcoin and Top altcoins are still my main choices.

Not because of arrogance or anything else, because I realize that my abilities in financial matters and also my knowledge here are quite minimal, because I prefer to choose things that have more certainty, and only in a few top altcoins, apart from Bitcoin of course.

Utility and usage are very important for a project to continue exist for a long period of time, after the hype of the pump, a project can only continue if there are reasons to continue and these are usage and utility and the dedication of the developers, ytou are good to go if you find a project a like that and you are one of the early investors.

Its happening right now, but many of these are meme coins it really is a great challenge to see a good project that will stay on even after the initial pump I stunmble one project that i thought will be great when bull run comes but unfortunately it never materialized, the market has full of uncertainty and surprise.

It's never just a matter of gains for the people who invest their money in top cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, ETH, SOL, and a few others. Still, it's also about financial security, and by financial security I mean the safety of the invested funds and them not getting wasted for which the odds are extremely tiny if you have it invested in the top cryptocurrencies. In contrast, if you do the same thing in new projects and cryptocurrencies, you will have a higher risk attached to it.

So even though it's true and known by everyone that they might get higher profits if they invest in other cryptocurrencies, they invest in the well-known coins for this particular reason and nothing else.

What you have said is not different from the truth. Unpopular projects are mostly the ones making major x bull run season's and sometimes i wonder what is the misery behind their quick speed while other projects with good utility value are out there looking for means to storm out calling attention to their project but nobody is looking at them but rather memes that ha no meaning would do 10x.

Although since the beginning of this year, I would say I have had a a good number of returns let me say in a 50/50 ratio and I am still expectant as w head to halving cime next month.

Lastly, I saw you bear talisman added to your name. Are you a talisman?

If that's the basis then BTC has to reach $80k+ for it to reach 100% of gain given this time. I haven't got that 100% yet because majority of my portfolio is in the form of Bitcoin. But if we're going to take back in 2023 then I am sure that many of us have got 100% already and that's what the important thing in here and why we're staying, keeping and even buying more.

Popular coins are also increasing in their worth but I think meme coins are increasing more quickly as compared to that and lots of investors has accumulated money through investment in meme coins. Even though newly originated meme coins are also full of profit but about their existence and limit of upward movement is unknown and long term success is doubtful.

Although the profit of bitcoin and other popular coins is slower but their profit is sure therefore we should not leave the popular coins by saying that their profit is less because sometimes wishes for quick profit become risky for us.

Those unpopular crypto projects are the ones that has a lower market cap, and yes I agree with you that there will be some unpopular crypto projects that might be the highest gainer, but not because they're unpopular. It will happen because it has a lower market cap therefore, it's price can pump up very quickly if whales will just buy the token. Projects that has a higher market cap will be the ones that are harder to manipulate it's price.

I'm almost x2 with my Bitcoin holdings already, and the halving event isn't happening yet. I believe with my Bitcoin investment, I might end up x3 or even x4 after the bull run. Aside from Bitcoin, I also have an altcoin called SUI that went up more than 100% already since I bought it in December of 2023. My capital has doubled already, and I will only sell it at the mid of the bull run.

I know that there are some here who have doubled their money in many coins already. Congratulations to us.

I'm not sure how the 80% figure was calculated, but most of the investors I know only like mid-cap ALTS and don't like accumulating BTC or ETH.

BTC.D has been continuously increasing for over a year now, showing that BTC's price performance has been better than most ALTS in the market. Currently, BTC has already reached a new ATH while most ALTS have not been able to achieve this. Some ALTS have actually increased in price more than BTC, such as INJ, FET, STX, but they are only a few. Most ALTS are still being left behind and ALTS/BTC is at the bottom. I have no reason to risk with ALTS before Halving, BTC is a much better choice.

Of course, I congratulate the investors who are making big profits with ALTS, I am temporarily satisfied with my DCA BTC strategy

I am not a dedicated fan of altcoins, and as such, I am not holding any altcoin that was bought last year or this year. Every altcoin I hold is a very old coin I bought some years ago when I was still new to the system, and some of those coins are already dead. If I had invested in some altcoins, I assume that some of those coins would have given a good profit, but on a second thought, I might not have also been lucky enough to invest in the right coins. I am just happy that I bought a fraction of Bitcoin when the price was low, and I am already making a good profit even if I decide to sell now.

Most of those unpopular coins are not safe, I had a friend who once bought a new coin for holding, and later that day when he checked it almost -70$ loss so he had to sell the remaining once. For me I think BTC and some ALT coins are good for holding

Most of those coins have done nearly or more than 100% in 2024
 Bitcoin had done 60%, as it began  the year around 40k.

Solana has gone much than that... even big projects have done incredible gains

My huge holdings will always be in Bitcoin because it's the safest and most reliable one. Even as a Bitcoin holder, I won't make huge profits like 400% or more, but at least I have peace of mind that it won't lose its value as fast as most altcoins.

I remember the days when a few of my cousins had invested in Terra Luna and suddenly it dropped to zero in value and they have lost most of their savings. It's pretty risky to invest in altcoins especially the new ones.

There are thousands of rug-pull coins that we see each day so it's better to avoid new altcoins at any cost. I will go either full with Bitcoin or go 80% with Bitcoin and 15% with reputed altcoins that are in top 10, and then go 5% with those altcoins that are in top 20.

I can't agree more with you, because there was a time when I was only interested in BTC and almost invested 90% of my capital in BTC 10% in nothing. And when I came to realize the alts potential which I knew before but the potential of it was not in my mind you can say it was not so clear. Well, after seeing things with my own eyes. I decided to invest the 10% in the alts and I made 2x already on some of the coins I invested, But BTC still didn't make me 3x. But 2x yeah, it made me 2x.

Well, I invested in NEAR @ of 1.76 maybe, and unfortunately sold it after some profit booking, but can you imagine how much it gained, it reached to $7 which is 4x, even BTC can't make me that much gains. And after realizing this fact, I think the people who only sees BTC as investment will decrease in numbers, as alts have the more potential to make us big money but don't forget the risk is also high.
