For bitcoin to replace gold as a store of value, it would need to increase in market capitalization by a factor of roughly more than 10 from current valuations... this will surely happen in another 4 years (one more crypto cycle) if not sooner. Bitcoin fundamentals remain the same as ever before and nothing stands in its way in terms of continuing the long-term growth trend. Dismiss all the FUD around, we have seen it time and time again.

Why do you think that will happen for certain?

I understand that people feels they are more into Bitcoin and will always try to portray things about Bitcoin that is really not necessary. What makes you think Bitcoin will replace Gold as a store of value? And even with a time line if just 4 years 😂🤣😂. Bitcoin is already a store of value for some that invest on it but we still see how fast it drops in price with a single tweet from some people and news from some other countries.
No doubt we will continue to see Bitcoin adoption grow but even people that invest in Bitcoin still diversify their investments and ther will always be people that will not not invest in Bitcoin at all. Facts.

I agree. That's just not serious, in my opinion. Bitcoin is popular, yes, it's an incredible innovation. But it's not going to replace a trusted storer of value that has been trusted for centuries and has a huge number of practical applications in just a few years. That is not realistic. A number of younger people may see it that way, but I don't think the older generations would be so easily convinced. Not when Bitcoin's price is yo-yoing the way it does.

bitcoin will never be able to replace gold because until now only gold can survive and of course gold still has a very high demand so gold will still survive and can beat bitcoin because until now when there is a dump in bitcoin the price of gold is still remain stable.
if to replace it seems I agree, because they are two different things and can not be equated. gold is tangible and very stable in price but bitcoin is intangible and not very stable because it follows the direction of the market.

If you want a safe investment, it is clearly recommended that gold only, but with the risk of an insignificant increase. if bitcoin can be ascertained that the investment every 4 years will soar high, even though we do nothing. if we are smart then we will be able to get more results from bitcoin with daily trading.

those who understand trading will clearly choose bitcoin compared to gold because gold only has the advantage that it can be used as accessories to show identity but cannot do daily trades like bitcoin and can earn from daily trades carried out.

Not to burst the bubble for you, but you are somewhat late with your assessment about BTC.

It has been proven already, it is so resilient from attacks, we reaches all time high of almost $20k in 2017 and then $64k this year. So throughout its young journey, no shitcoins have been closed to what bitcoin has accomplishes, being a store of value, hedge against inflation, payment scheme and now some of big companies balance sheet

The Criptocurrency market Indeed, while “money printing” is often cited by Bitcoin advocates as one of the main flaws in the existing monetary systems, governments often use this tool to counteract various calamities. Not only that, but using Bitcoin as currency can also result in a modern-day financial “feudalism,” Varoufakis argued, thus it “can never be a currency and it should never be a currency.

Bitcoin is much more volatile than gold. Sure, it might be just a problem of Bitcoin’s young age. But it doesn’t change the fact that price declines in the cryptocurrency are a few times bigger than in the gold market.

Will Bitcoin ever replace gold? The answer I can give to this question is that Bitcoin is currently more expensive than gold. The percentage of gold made by Bitcoin is not rising at the rate at which it is rising. Bitcoin prices sometimes skyrocket and sometimes fall to the ground. But on the other hand, because it is beautiful and stable, sometimes its price increases a little and then it decreases a little.

Bitcoin will never replace gold. Because if you think of Bitcoin and Gold separately, Bitcoin is a virtual currency, this currency can never be touched or seen. It replaces it from one medium to another. But not everyone buys gold for its ornaments. But there will come a time when Bitcoin will increase many times more than its gold price.

Neither Bitcoin nor any other cryptocurrency can replace gold. This topic has already been discussed many times and most of the participants in this forum agreed with this opinion. These are not only completely different financial assets, they are almost completely opposite assets in their characteristics. And in general it is too early to discuss it. Nowadays, relatively few people use cryptocurrency, and practically no one is going to give up gold.

In these times of turmoil, Gold is reaching new ATHs in price. But Bitcoin doesn't leave behind. With a limited supply of only 21 million coins, hardened security, and a focus on decentralization, Bitcoin is often viewed by many as the successor of Gold. One of Bitcoin's greatest benefits on top of Gold, is portability. You can virtually carry your Bitcoin with you safely when travelling, without anyone noticing. That's not the case with Gold, as you'd need to carry physical bullion with you. Other than portability, Gold and Bitcoin are very much alike.

Do you think that Bitcoin will be able to replace Gold someday? As we shift into the "intangible" world, people will "ditch" physical stuff in exchange for digital items. Bitcoin can become the new digital Gold which serves as a safe-haven asset (store of value) in times of need. Thoughts?  ::)

Yes, It could be. I think bitcoin has potential to replace gold at the coming future, But I don't think it will happen at the next few years.
Gold is more popular and beloved by many people at the world.
and more stable.
Bitcoin is more profitable.

This is Criptocurrency market in According to its SEC filing, Tesla's Bitcoin purchase reflects an updated investment policy aimed at diversifying its cash on hand and maximizing returns. The filing states that, we may invest a portion of such cash in certain alternative reserve assets including digital assets, gold bullion, gold exchange-traded funds and other assets as specified in the future.

No its not possible for bitcoin to replace gold. The acceptance and value of bitcoin are on the rise. It can be consider as supplement to gold rather than a replacement. The price of bitcoin is highly volatile. Some people believes that Bitcoin price will reach ten times more than gold price but it can not replace gold.

Bitcoin and Gold are two different entities and will remain in their different lanes of operation. Yes, Bitcoin is proven to be a force to reckon with in terms of Investment as we have seen that, investing in Bitcoin can bring big gains and it is good as a store of value in that sense.
However, Gold has its own positive side. It has been in existence for generations and has been a reliable form of investment for generations and a store of value too and for most, more valuable because of its physical nature.
Bitcoin will not replace Gold IMO, both will continue to play their role as it best suits whoever is investing in them and uses them for whatever purpose that suits them at that time.
