I guess I'll throw in my story about how I got into the blockchain/crypto world.
I first heard about bitcoin sometime during 2013, when a friend whom I had been working on some side-projects with told me about this mysterious virtual currency that could be mined with home PCs. At the time, we were doing some graphic editing work for some film school friends to make some extra cash on the side, and also liked gaming a lot, therefore were running some heavy rigs at home with some nice specs. So my friend suggested that we could use our rigs to mine some bitcoins, but of course, at the time I didn't know what the concept bitcoin was built upon. My friend had sent me a copy of bitcoin whitepaper, but I wasn't too keen on reading it all, as I thought bitcoin was a just a niche thing back then.
Oh boy was I wrong. Fast forward 5 years, just before new year 2018, I learned (like everybody else) that bitcoin had spiked to 20k. By then it occurred to me that bitcoin wasn't just a niche thing, it was something that came to stay.
Fast forward again 8 months, I started working for a blockchain company that develops its own financial public chain, and now I'm truly immersed in the blockchain/crypto world, and has become some of a bitcoin bull.
Looking back just a few years ago, it seemed like an entirely different world. But hey, that's what bitcoin does to you.
