Maybe an alternative method here would be allowing users to also sign messages with ethereum, as this an altcoin forum.
Is someone actually using signing and verifying messages on other blockchains?
I never heard about that and I never saw this was possible in all altcoin wallets I used.
I suppose this would be possible with bitcoin forks like Litecoin, BCH and others, but I am not sure about ethereum.

I know that people use metamask to sign stuff to log in. That can even be done with bitcoin using some wallets like UniSat (it is in my todo list to study)

It is also in my todo list make a tool similar to brainwallet to verify and a sign messages, which also accepts segwit (brain wallet doesnt)

Do you think people would use it?

Congratulations for creating this topic examplens. Great idea.

Quoting for reference.

I noticed nobody mentioned aqua wallet.

It is a good bitcoin wallet.
It offers an easy interface for lighting network as well. Not for high amounts , as it is not a hardware wallet.

I believe that the attitude that this forum is destined for bounty and earning hunters would be completely wrong. The arrival of more serious signature campaigns is taking the forum to a different level, we should probably change that bounty/earn narrative shortly.

I agree.

However,  I still lack some more technical  discussions . And also some better way to navigate here.
The  notification bots helped a lot forum navigation,  but so many boards and the lack of a watchlist/personal feed/or trending topics make it very hard to find new posts.

I will think about implementing some watchlist someday .. with trending topic links in a page in my domain

And on the internet, there is not a single tool that can use the twitter video link and provide you the YT embed link so you can use it anywhere. I mean doing it is not so hard, but I think the demand for this tool is not so much, as people don't usually search for videos on twitter AKA X so that's why there is not such tool.

I agree. I found a tool that hosts the Twitter video online for download,  but I didn't thought about hosting in YouTube to share...

And even pasting the video file here, it didn't embed it. That works for you tube only..

What is the reason why deleting posts is not allowed?

I see no reason for that.

Maybe with a better reputation/trust system everyone should be allowed to.
There are two reasons:
the first is that it affects points, which at some point can be converted into USDT, and the second is fraud.

I never found a post which explain how to reclaim ALT tokens and convert them to anything else. Which topic is it? I see many related to ALT, but I just found rules and stuff like that, never saw information about reclaiming them

A user lost $68 million after falling victim to a "dust attack". The monitoring platform Cyvers Alerts detected a transaction for 1155 WBTC.

The dust attack is used by attackers as a tracking system - they tag the victim's wallets with microtransactions. As a rule, such wallets have similar addresses (beginning and end). Due to inattention, the user can use it in the future for a reciprocal payment.

I think those  ethereum wallets are more complicated.  Só much smartcontracts ans authorizations everywhere...  they are easier to make a mistake. Look that the user lost wbtc,  not btc.

Anyway, lack of attention was very expensive for him...

I am impressed to see so many Brazilian traffic in this report
And the portuguese  board is basically dead...

Maybe many people from elsewhere use a Brazilian VPN?

Always thought that it does not matter which operation system, antivirus or wallet user uses, because he gets hacked not based on what has chosen, but based on what he did. Even if user has super protection system, one reckless click can change everything. I think it is enough to follow security measurements and be cautious, to safely store crypto. As nobody will hack you unless someone find out you have funds.
~snip~

To a large extent, I share your opinion, because most of the incidents that happen to crypto users have nothing to do with the OS they use, but with the fact that they simply make a wrong move that hackers use to empty their wallet. So let's say a part of crypto users gets "hacked" because they save their backups (seeds/private keys) in e-mail or the cloud or as an ordinary text document on the desktop.

There is no doubt that Windows is the OS that is by far the most exposed to attacks, but even if it is another OS, it still boils down to the fact that it is not recommended to store your cryptocurrencies in desktop/mobile hot wallets. It's simply too much of a risk and that's why hardware wallets exist.

I agree that Linux is safer.  I hate Mac OS or any other Apple stuff  , the costs (price, lack functions, incompatibility) of having them are not worth any possible benefit.

Windows might not be the safer, but it is much better than it was 20 years ago. I am a Windows user since 3.11, and it is much better now.

It is safer, faster, more stable and the WSL (Windows subsystem Linux) is amazing...

As I use a hardware wallet  , I never lost any funds. I also hold some amount of money in metamask for years...

I think the problem is basically bad habits in the internet that most people have...

I somewhat agree with this part. In addition, it's not easy to find altcoin wallet which are open-source and let user have access private keys.
In my research about wallets, bitcoin is the only wallet that does not have any other coin wallet. When I checked MEW for Ethereum, I saw other wallets in the MEW but I didn't see it like that in the bitcoin wallets I have use. Such as Electrum, bluewallet etc.
This is MEW interface with other Blockchains. This is the quality of open Open Source with other projects. And another differences are the PoW and the Whitepaper specifications. Bitcoin made their very clear for all to see.

You see other coins in MEW for 2 main reasons:

1 - lots of layer 2 looks like coins, you are basically changing network to use optimism,  arbitrum, base, Linea, etc... all of those are ethereum L2.

2 - many other projects are ethereum copy-cats. For example, BNB is a CTRL C CTRL V ethereum. You just need to change the network to use it

I thought it was possible to embed videos here. Isn't it? Just youtube videos?

If anyone knows how, please tell me

I think the user should be warned and he should always delete the old bump before posting another one...
They can't deleted bumps or any old posts, unless they ask moderators to do it, or unless they pay by burning some tokens to enable deletion of posts.
I noticed this about posts and I don't like it, this is another good reason why we should have deletion by default in more boards (if not in all).
Services board should enable post deletion, and maybe few other boards.

What is the reason why deleting posts is not allowed?

I see no reason for that.

Maybe with a better reputation/trust system everyone should be allowed to.

Diversifying your investment portfolio requires that both gold, the dollar and Bitcoin be present. Otherwise, you may need liquidity, and then you may sell Bitcoin for about 30% of its real value. Therefore, comparing Bitcoin and gold is useless, as you need both in your investment portfolio.

I would certainly add Bonds and Equities in this diversified portfolio. SP500 has performed amazingly well in the last decades and it have a decent share of any portfolio.

It is also a good moment to invest in bonds from good companies or from treasuries as well, as the interest rates are very high.

However, this might be different if even though the mixers stop, there is still a signature campaign that pays for BTC on this forum. So the possibility for them to stay will be there as long as there is something to do and give rewards here. This is not a big deal.

All active campaigns right now are mixers campaigns.

I never saw a casino here ... and the only exchange represent I saw was exch.cx , they they didn't make any campaign so far.

I think users should be able to delete their bumps. At least after some time has passed.

Additionally,  there should be a limit for posting in certain topics.

For example, a user cannot make more than 1 consecutive post in a day. This would stop many useless bumps.
