Three categories we can choose for getting our investments

Nowadays, there are three categories that we can choose to get tokens or coins for our investments:

• New coins from ICOs [Initial Coin Offering]
• New coins from IEOs [Initial Exchange Offering]
• Top coins [Based on ranks on CMC]

From three categories above, I prefer to choose top coins because I think they will be safer and easy to know their performance since they are already on the market for long or quite long time. While new coins, they still need to fight with the market condition to show their existence. They can survive to continue their improvement or fail.

Based on those three categories, which one do you prefer to choose?

Bounty is a way to get new coins from ICO. It is not really favorable for all. IEO is now a standard option to choose for investment. It  is now a way of profits for investors plus their security of finance. Yes, investment in top rank coins can be a choice. I prefer to invest in top rank coins.

So far, for the first and second categories, I also got the coins from participating in bounty, never buy them as investments. And I think that many also apply these  .

I also agree that it is safer to invest in top coins if we want to get a safe investment. However, I ever heard that investing in certain ICO with real products will really give us big profits in the next two years although it is very risky. I never try it, but I'm curious to try it.

I'd like to propose one more category: Exchange coins. As we can see, people are so hyped on IEOs and most exchanges require holding/buying their coins to participate their IEOs. Taking advantages from IEOs and decentralized exchange, Binance has blown its BNB to all new high price. Okex and Huobi will follow this trend (DEX). Their coins may not fly as high as BNB but definitely increase in mid and long term.

Besides those categories, I also know another one, it is security token offerings (STO). But I see the STO is not popular enough. So, I am afraid to propose this one. However, it is one of the token sale ways.

Why are new coins with no ICO/IEO/STO being left out?
If those are the only categories, then we'll probably missed out on self-funded or privately funded start up projects. I saw some few weeks ago and I am monitoring their progress.

Most of these privately funded coins do not have airdrops or bounties so hunters never hear about them. That's probably the reason why they were left out by the OP.

But they also need a community to boost the price of these coins.
A community is needed by one coin, for example what I see from ANON coins and you can check the ANON coins that are now on Trade Satoshi Exchange .

PS : ANON cretaed from Hardfork , not from ICO, STO or IEO .

I will choose the top coin, because the price is clear and we can monitor price movements so that our investment will not be wasted. We can also do long-term investments and are very suitable.

That's a niche, not really a category cause it's not easy to find out those silent projects. I love things that are unnoisy but qualified. Do you know somewhere I can find those projects?

Regarding OP's question, I would go for third option. Finding a good ICO is as difficult as finding a needle in a haystack nowadays. IEOs are better than ICOs but being manipulated by exchanges or strictly required under lottery form. Top coins seem to be the most suitable choice.

1. Investing in coins from ICO is a big risk, however I think that part of my money should be invested in such coins.
2. IEO is popular now, but it’s hard to say if these projects will be successful in the future. At least, after listing on the stock exchange, the price of coins is several times higher than they were at the IEO. The main problem is that not everyone manages to buy coins during initial exchange offering.
3. In my opinion most of the investment should be directed to cryptocurrency from the coinmarketcap top. Such investments are the safest, however, the possible profit may be less than from investing in coins from the first and second categories.

I do not prefer ICO or IEOs. Of course bounty coins are valuable for me however I don't want to pay for any new companies.
Other than that I agree with the top coins on CMC. They are less risky to invest. However crypto world is always really risky and one should be really careful

I consider that it is necessary to analyze projects (at least) from the first and second hundred.
