Cryptocurrency discussions / Do you care how advanced a coin is?
« on: November 02, 2018, 03:55:25 PM »
For the most part I don't understand super technical abilities of a coin, and for the most part the only advancement I need is super fast and cheap confirmations.  However I do understand the basic concepts of contract coins like ether and security coins like zcash.  Do you care how advanced a coin is aside from transaction speed?  Do you feel additional security features of coins make them more appealing? Should more coins offer contract creation ability?

Ethereum Forum / Do smart contract coins threaten ether?
« on: October 21, 2018, 04:16:59 PM »
It appears the popularity of ether tokens and their use by ICO's are propelling the price forward, when the market is strong.  What do you think will happen when other coins will be used by ICO's as well, will this decrease the price of ether, or will it simply be even better and leaner, when so much volume it experiences will decrease?

Cryptocurrency discussions / Where alt coins invented for the future?
« on: October 20, 2018, 09:26:36 PM »
This might seem like a strange question, but I'll try to explain what I mean.  Some of the features of new coins sound like the designers are thinking fifty years from now, not just a coin for right now.  This can be everything from how many of them are available, to transaction speeds, and other design features.  If roughly 7% of all internet accounts own crypto currency, some of these coins feel like they were designed for 70% adaptation.  So what do you think, where alt coins invented for the future?

Cryptocurrency discussions / Will Crypto crash the system?
« on: October 19, 2018, 02:04:34 PM »
Crypto will never crash  the system and replace money, at least not in north america.  Everything is enforced by laws, like a law that tax needs to be paid in cash, on all items, no matter what the person pays with.  Sometimes it feels like people think if we all go crypto, money is somehow going to be free, and life is going to be so much easier, I don't think that's true.  Imagine if you could only buy bread with crypto, and some billionaire buys a large amount of crypto the night before, the next morning your bread will cost twice as much.  In other words its a rare resource, basing prices on crypto doesn't make sense.  It can represent money all day long, and have value based on the dollar, but I don't think it can be money, unless governments just make digital cash for us, that doesn't jump too much.

Cryptocurrency Trading / Trading coins versus each other
« on: October 19, 2018, 04:27:13 AM »
So if your only goal is to increase a currency, and not the dollar, do you prefer trading your coin versus US or other fiat, or versus another coin, like ether, litecoin, etc.  If you trade coins versus each other, do you find the mechanics different, like stability and volatility, versus trading against the dollar?  I generally just do it through the dollar, never really looked at trading them against each other.

Dogecoin Forum / Better integration of Dogecoin?
« on: October 18, 2018, 08:03:21 PM »
Dogecoin is not a joke, even if it was created for fun.  Community support is strong, and its affiliation to dogs and easy going nature has a great appeal.   I look at dogecoins like a bronze of the crypto world, there are a lot of them, and they are precious.  However, integration is slow, I ran into a second local crypto to fiat exchange (KYC exchange), and they have a ton of currencies, but no dogecoins.  I had to keep my doge at a dice site, just because I could easily exchange them there, and than send it in litecoins to my exchange.  However same exchanges instantly listed bitcoin gold, bitcoin cash, just because they have the words bitcoin in them. I know bitcoin cash is a cool currency, and deserves being listed, but dogecoin proved itself as well.  I complained to one exchange and they were apologetic, and it sounds like I'm not the only one demanding dogecoins there.  Do you feel dogecoin integration is too slow? and that they are not treated as serious currency overall?

Cryptocurrency discussions / I choose alts and ignore bitcoins
« on: October 18, 2018, 06:04:14 PM »
I've been ignoring bitcoin for a while now, I had bad experience with fees, and in the beginning lost a chunk because I was sending with high fees accidentally.  I put the rest, about $30 into dogecoins, and it rose to over $200 and I sold it.  After that I fell in love with alts.  I've been so spoiled with alts, if I have to wait longer than five minutes for confirmation, I'm a little edgy, I'm glad locked up bitcoin transactions are a thing of the past for me now, since I don't send bitcoin anymore.  Do you choose alts over bitcoin purely out of fees/long transacton times?

Litecoin Forum / Do you prefer litecoin or dogecoin?
« on: October 18, 2018, 03:30:42 PM »
I look at dogecoin like bronze, litecoin as silver and bitcoin as gold of the crypto world.  Alt coins are becoming more and more popular, while bitcoin is still the most popular, 50% of the market belong to alts, and that is a big chunk.  What appeals to you more, litecoin, which feels like a cheaper bitcoin, and has same decimal stricture and good fees.  Or dogecoin, completely different, whole numbers, no decimals, super cheap to transact.

Cryptocurrency Trading / Falling market trading strategies?
« on: October 18, 2018, 04:46:15 AM »
To be honest I love when the prices for coins are falling, everyone is panicking, the transaction speeds are fast and cheap.  The only strategies I know for falling market is to buy as much as possible, and wait till the price jumps.  Anyone has interesting falling market strategies they are willing to share?

Litecoin Forum / Low litecoin price attracts you or repels you?
« on: October 18, 2018, 04:26:32 AM »
I started hording litecoin again due to low price, kinda makes me feel rich owning a whole litecoin now, something I couldn't do back at peak prices.  Is the low price of litecoin something that attracts you to buy litecoin right now, or is the opposite?  Did the low price give you the opportunity to get more than you would back during peak, or sound alarm bells to sell?

News related to Crypto / Blockchain's Impact on Food and Farming, Explained
« on: September 03, 2018, 11:41:04 PM »
Read full article, below are main points from the article.
https://cointelegraph.com/explained/blockchain-s-impact-on-food-and-farming-explained
1.
Is it possible to track where food comes from?
Several companies have launched services allowing shoppers to see a product’s journey from farm to fork, but they often depend on retailers agreeing to be transparent.
2.
Food safety scares! Remind me?
There have been several in recent years… how long have you got?
3.
How would that work? Any examples?
Smart agriculture solutions — which boost productivity and address food demand — are thriving, and it is predicted that this industry could be worth up to $26.76 billion by 2020.
4.
Food safety’s great, but what about food prices? They’re constantly rising.
Blockchain could eliminate paper-based processes and cut costs, with these savings passed on to you.
5.
But wouldn’t farmers be out of pocket from lower prices?
On the contrary, smart contracts could ensure they are paid fairly for their hard work without delay — and smaller farms would have a larger market for selling their fresh produce.
6.
Is there any way to get fresh food on store shelves faster?
Inefficiencies in the supply chain can often mean delays before produce is ready for sale, but automated processes through blockchain could speed things along nicely.

Stable Coins Forum / Cash on the blockchain the ultimate idea?
« on: September 01, 2018, 01:35:12 PM »
Shortly after bitcoin came out, I thought to myself wouldn't it be cool to have cash on the blockchain.  After all bitcoin got popular because it cannot be faked easily.  Also some people don't like banks, or simply cannot trust them in their country, well tether can be held in online wallet, no need to keep cash under a pillow.  Now tether itself seems a little bit expensive to send, place where I tried asked 2$ transaction fee, but I'm sure someone could create a dollar pegged coin cheaper to send.
