Looking to get into mining, and am trying to find out the most profitable way to do it. I have already established that Bitcoin is out of my league, but searching for the quickest ROI. I realise it changes over time, so is there somewhere I can find regular updates of the best coins to mine?

I think IPBC is good to mine on a fresh pool with higher hashrate, check here
for pool and wallet of IPBC GET THE WALLET HERE (https://ipbc.diamondrush.net/#getting_started) and also GO TO THE IPBC POOL (https://ipbc.diamondrush.net/#). You can exchange it here LIVECOIN (http://livecoin.net)

Depending on your goals, you can start mining for free on some 'game style' mining sites. You can collect some currency, start trading it on a trading platform and turn it into a significant investment. It takes time, but if you want to start off for free, it's a good alternative. The process is detailed in the report on my website http://terrytelford.com/free-bitcoin

Some say that whattomine is the source to chose what coin is profitable, but in my opinion whattomine is not the place who are finding profitable coins, if you want to get a high return always watch and listen to the coin you want to mine.. I always minted underdog coin.. If they hit the market, i will get a good profit of it..

will recommend whattomire.com
I actually have heard from several people that the coins on whattomine are kind of outdated. Outdated in terms of too mainstream to make a decent profit with. Those people also recommended some lesser known coins. Do you think that's true?

I've been mining since last summer and I've always used Whattomine to calculate my profitability, and I think it's pretty accurate.
As a miner it is better to mine the most profitable coin to buy the one you want to hold, like this you will have a higher quantity of coins.

You can choose whattomine.com. And follow its recommended settings in the tip box. You can reach those specs by undervolting, OC, mod properly as tipped by the website.

I read that even industrial mining today is on the verge of profitability. At least BTC mining. You can work only with cheap electricity. How profitable is home mining?
