Hi all,
Sorry for any mistakes in my writing, but I wanna share my doubt about ICO and airdrops, which is, the following
Many times happens that you have to provide your personal information,to partecipate and get some free tokens, to people that often are unknown and their projects sink very fast.
In my opinion it is something that must be considered before taking part to any ico.
What s your opinion?
-
Why not create a different email and wallet for these airdrops
-
I don't think they ask so many questions about personal info.
So you are safe. Just don't give them your private key.
-
i don't think it's a big matter.
All you give them is very basic information and they can not do shit with it.
-
Do not give your private key otherwise, there is no danger in filling up the form.
-
Some projects like retainly(will be exchange eventually) want photos/copies of official document(card, driver license, international passport).
I do not participate in their airdrops.
-
your info is collected for other purpose

You are right I think. In online world there is so many fake & dangerous project. It's is not good to do any work without proper information & guidelines. We need to take more cautions before take part of such Opportunities......
-
I think you can participate but do not send money. many forms request only the e-mail address, retweet and purse address. in principle, you do not lose anything. from some projects I received payments already :)
-
Thank you for all the answers, and of course it s not just a matter of sending money..
Anyway, now seeems that telegram is used often for airdrops, what information can they get by you just joining the project telegram group?
-
It is even worse when they require KYC. Why would I send a picture of my passport to some random ICO?
-
I think any internet smart person would have a separate email for such and come to think of it, only a few would ask for your names.
But you can't be too careful about this asking for you to post things on your FB and Twitter accounts. They might extract personal details.
-
First of all i never seen that any ico want to know your personal information. I think you are being scammed. In that case i suggest you that you should create a totally a new mail and all other information. Hope it should help you.

Hi, do you have some experience with ico? On the other side I mean. What are the other purpose ?

This is generally true in my experience too. However, if you're using the same password for all of these ICOs I can imagine encountering some bad actors who will have the ability to cause trouble. Be cautious, use unique passwords and take appropriate precautions.
