I am opening this question, because a lot of new people in crypto do not get this concept clearly. Please reply below with further details and explanations.

My short answer:
- To get an airdrop you will need a wallet
- The wallet should be on the blockchain the coin or token is issued on
- Some coins have their own blockchain, be very careful with these, some can contain viruses, so double check the reputation before downloading anything from them.
- Most token are created on the Ethereum blockchain, thus you need an Ethereum wallet to be able to receive these tokens.
- To create an Ethereum wallet check : there are several ways, easiest is through Metamask and MyetherWallet

True mate , we need to proper research before joining any Airdrop because some of them is doing scam.
I think myetherwallet and trust wallet always perfect wallet for Airdrop coin . Sometime different projects have there own wallet for rewarded its user.

You can use MetaMask, myetherwallet, coinbase, imtoken, math wallet, Tron wallet. Trust Wallet also very much popular.

Very simple because getting Airdrop one should join several Telegram Channels, groups and websites.
