On 28 March, the former CEO of the collapsed FTX, Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF), was sentenced to 25 years in prison. However, even such a sentence was considered lenient by the crypto community.

Dan Held is right with his statement due to the affected victims that SBF have frustrated with FTX. He is supposed to be given a higher years, and 25 years is too small. It is just like he did not serious. I hope that the rest scammers trying to do such would learn from this. Or would they continue with their illicit activities. Assuming he was given ke 50 years by the time he would be out from jail, he is already old, and he would have understand the gravity of offense he committed, and what he has done to himself.

To be honest, when I heard this news, I thought it was a harsh punishment and you are saying most of the crypto community considered it a lenient sentence. Well, that must be true then actually what he did, how he did, that's all another discussion, but he also paid tax, paid huge amounts to political parties and etc. I was wondering, if a person of such worth would be here in our country, I don't think they would sentence him this long, as such a person are an asset for the government.

Well, if I apply the same thought here, considering that the sentence is really lenient then I must say, that the USA is considering him a good asset in there hands, and I doubt if they really treat him like prisoners, like he might be given better facilities by government. At last he is an asset and after 25 years, he will come back into this industry. What you think on my POV.

i could be wrong but in the court when they say life sentence it means 40 years.  Bernie Madoff is sentenced to 150 years and his crime didn't involve a lot of people but just the rich. SBF took the life of his victims that some of them may already be homeless.

so yes his sentence is lighter and he may even get out earlier knowing the guy can't life a finger to slap someone who tries to grab his garlic bread in the foodcourt. so his parents might just hire someone inside to spoon fed him.

Sbf is surely going to get some form of special treatment in prison, knowing how influential his parents are, i don't think he will have a tough time in jail with rough criminals, he would not last long if he has a hard time there. There is so much discussion about sbf and his lenient sentencing, but i think all of that is over now and nothing can be changed, so we all should move on and people should learn from it not to use exchanges as wallet.

Life imprisonment means the prison will stay in prison throughout his remaining life on earth. But from the someone's imprisonment period, you will know that some are life imprisonment. Example is someone sentenced to 120 years in prison at the age of 34.

Ponzi scheme also has its negative side. Using someone's money to pay another person's money. It can not last forever. Bernie Madoff ponzi scheme is still the biggest ponzi ever.

You are right, as I don't know much about his family background, but a lot of people were affected by this scam but I did not think that people would already be homeless due to this event. I also do not have an idea that victims would have taken their lives. These facts are new to my mind although that's a possibility. Can you please some sources of sites that can shed more light on the people's situations/lives that were affected due to this scam?

Well if SBF has been sentenced to a whole life then 25 years is much little, he is a young dude and 25 years should not be counted as a whole life sentence. I assume there must be a reason behind this as I aforementioned he was a political dude, and must have good connection in the policitcs as well. And after reading more about him on Encyclopedia I came to know he is strategic person.
