At the moment BSC is the only one that can still stand up to the ETH. The competition is on the way, but they will also need time.
Cardano could rise 5x for a short time, but in the long term I see Ethereum ahead. And after ETH 2.0 the fight starts all over again. Hopefully it will never stop.

Good question, would be interesting to know everyone's reasons. I believe in its use, smart contracts have incredible scope, I'd like to see it expand and for other "good" projects to stem off from the Ethereum project by building on it (and I stress the word good, not many are)

Yes, there are many thousands of different ERC-20 tokens issued on the ethereum platform and everyone needs ethereum to move. However, the main thing is that ethereum is a very promising coin for price growth. ETH is capable of reaching 3,500 USD or even 10K USD, because the potential of ETH has not been unleashed yet, after increasing from 300 to 1400 USD, there is no more movement, while there are positive news: GrayScale buy ETH, ETH2.0, POS, EIP-1559, layer-2... I beg to disagree on you mate even if ETH fees right now is totally unacceptable still many whales and supporters are holding eth the supply is currently infinite but after 2.0 implemented the whole eth ecosystem will changed supply, scalability, and many other concerns I think this is the best time for buyers to accumulate ETH if you want to gain huge profit in this bull run eth will really explode this year going parabolic in my opinion believe me mate the bull run is just starting.

There's nothing to worry about when you own ethereum.
In July ethereum will fork and currently my choice is still on ethereum, some of the ERC20 tokens that I bought on the CEX exchange have increased in price and I'm not worried about anything about gas costs, because I don't send tokens to wallets or Dex exchanges like Uniswap.
Keep buying ethereum before the price actually goes up ;)

As far as I know the Etherium coin is very good for short term investment and long term investment. I agree because Ethereum is important blockchain in crypto. The Erc 20 will be great again in due time if the gas fee will become low. Gas fee is killing everybody. Not friendly factor for Ethereum. This coin is potential to $10,000 increase more years from now.

it is clear that for coins now, that can be held are ethereum and bitcoin, which can be very convincing and the safest investment for the future because the price will always increase at a later stage. but not for other coins because it cannot guarantee that it will increase in the future and it may happen that the coin disappears from the market because no one is trading anymore.

Personally, I am believing that if ethereum also gets an ETF approval, the price may as well, go as much higher than $10,000, I am personally looking or expecting the price to go as high as $15,000 to $20,000, depending on how big the bull run is.
If bitcoin could hit $200,000 and above in the coming bull run, then I am expecting (like I said before) Ethereum to touch $15,000 to $20,000 as well.

Except from that the functionality for its speed for transactions and also transaction fees are going to the level where we are going to see comeback of the cost for the gas which is good, it should not be looking for some kind of follow up for value and cost of the gas, for example if value of Ethereum is high than for me cost of the gas should not be high too ,it should be lower than that day of pump. Though, I will advice that we also put the transaction fee as a consideration while holding Ethereum for a very long time. As our Ethereum portfolio keeps growing, transaction fees also grow with it. The transfer of 5eth which happens to be a large transaction requires a good amount of gas fee, while the opposite happens for the lesser.
If we don't trade our Ethereum, it is no problem with transfer fees. We don't need to send our Ethereum to exchanges, just hold on the private wallets. It's because the trust earned is there and the community is stronger than any other I can mentioned here, the security is a top notch but the fact that nothing serious has been done about ethereum chain and fees makes it local technology, no matter the upgrades and all sort of things they bring, if the fees cannot be brought down to a scent, I don't think it's going to worth been the best chain out there but I respect them for their community trust.
If it's by number, Ethereum community is 2 times bigger than Bitcoin because of the ERC20 tokens and other projects that need them to interact with the smart contracts but Bitcoin doesn't have that, this is where I respect ethereum over Bitcoin in terms of numbers of the community.

I think that won't happen because currently transaction costs on ERC20 are still relatively high so to increase the price of Ethereum you have to make more and more transactions on the Ethereum network but in reality until now Ethereum has still not succeeded in overcoming this problem.

I think in the end I will go for CFDs for many reasons
- I don't have to setup any eth wallet
- I do not lose fees for transfers
- I don't have to declare property taxes (in Italy) since I don't own anything
