I think It depends what do you want, If you want do day trading , You can choose ripple. Ethereum is good for long term investment.

I prefer ripple, because I like do day trading. Ripple is more profitable and good for day trading.

i prefer ethereum than ripple,
so i will choose ethereum for long-term investment, indeed ripple is also very promising in the future and also very profitable. but i think it's better to choose ethereum than ripple, because the ethereum network is very large compared to ripple.

I think ethereum is smart contract and so popular now. It is good for long term. Ripple is bank coin. It is good for short term and day trading.
