How do you choose good ICOs?

The news of fake ICOs is all over the place. In one way or the other, we've been victims of either fake ICO or its bounty program. What is your criteria for choosing a good ICO? I don't want to be a vicitim of scam ICO any longer.

To choose a good ICO, do as much research as possible. Learn more about the team and the project developers. Check if they have an existing product in the market. That would be an advantage. Find out about their road map and future plans. Join their Telegram group and BTT discussions and hear what other people are saying about the ICO.

Take for instance, VLUX, a London-based startup who have combined AI and Blockchain to create a P2P energy trading platform. They already have an MVP in the market called Verv which was created by UK's Green Running.

First you need to check the Team of developers and the managers if they are trusted and then you need to check and read their whitepapers and road maps and projects. If possible participate in their telegram where you can talk to their team freely and ask what ever you want to ask just to wipe your confusions.

I totally agree, the team is one of the most important factors for me. I try to do as much research on them as I can, check if I find them on linkedin etc. Funnily, these things are often presented very differently on the ICO websites. The cultural coin for example is an ICO I participated in: https://www.culturalplaces.com/ When you scroll down you can see photos of all investors and team members + links to their linkedin. This kind of transparancy appeals to me. But I think the telegram chat is a really important factor too and I always ask questions in the chat just to see if the team appears professional and replies to questions I may have. After that definitely check whitepaper, website in general, product, background etc. Good luck !

There is no guarantee that you will never become a victim of fake ICO's again.
Maybe the most important guides are whether or not the project is relevant and whether or not the team can deliver.

Choosing a good ICO is a matter of personal preference. Each has their own opinion. Some would say shit project and other a "gem" on the same ICO. Basic guides for me: Relevance, Team identity and capability.

I think it's complicate to choose an ICO.
Because we never know if the project can SCAM.

I never did ico before but i heard a French Ico Project (i'm french guy) and for the first ICO it's easier to talk in my native language to responsable of ICO

(i talked about SATT ico if someone knows?).

Anyway, it's a gamble and all gamble is risky

ICO is only a scam when they get full funding, and instead of doing what they promised, they run away with the money.  Some ICO's simply fail to convince the public of their ideas, and don't pay their bounties cause funds were refunded and con was never made.

I think you can learn their whitepaper and their team. You also see the project's purpose.

Even having a good team and a white paper doesn't make the project reliable. There is no guarantee that you will not be deceived. you need to look at the rating of the project, the technology and hope that you will not be deceived.

The trick is rather difficult and it is not easy to recognize which ICO is good and which is Scam. I can research the Scam Project from the Team, Team performance, Team Structure, Target market, Legal basis, etc. which I consider important. From there I can decide to invest in a project at the ICO, whether the project is suitable or not.

I've been pretty much doing the complete opposite.  I don't dig into the team that much, and just go with projects that I want to succeed, and with themes that I like.  So gaming, sports, and exchanges.  Even though these might be rather dense, hard to succeed areas, someone will make the best new thing sooner or later.  I stay away from ICO's I don't understand, complicated business stuff, ideas too large to imagine happening, etc.  In other words I cross my fingers and hope for the best, but with projects I actually want to use in the future.

I chose the ico project based on the team and advisor from the ico project. Team experience in a project is needed to acknowledge the future of the project. if the project has a quality team, I'm sure the project will be good in the future.
