No report button.

I don't see "report" button anymore. Few minutes ago I reported an off topic post and after that button disappeared. Is there a bug or this is only restricted to me because I reported to many posts?


You know that I hate spammers and off topics

Maybe the Admin thought you are abusing the report system and restricted your account from using the report button.  Just like he said he would do with the Karma abusers.

Maybe, I think I'll have to wait for Admin reply to resolve that matter. I hope I'm not restricted as abuser because this will be so demotivating.

But can I suggest you something? I know that you are a good member in the forum and is very good at giving some of your insights for the development of the forum. But the point is you hate spam too much. That's the problem here. The forum is still new and requires some hyperactive members like the admin suggested. This forum is still in growing phase, so a little blind spot on unnecessary comments (spams in your view) until the forum is a bit more crowded will be good.

If you check my posts, I have mentioned the legend members of the Forum. I don't want to personally name him here. If you check their posts, you'll find that one of them posts almost 50% of unwanted answers. But the forum needs some of them for its development and growth.

I hate spams too and agree with your concerns. But when it comes to reporting, I do only if they are trying to scam our members or post links to phishing sites. I am not trying to demotivate you here, i am just giving a friendly suggestion.  Hope you'll consider this

You are quite right that I hate spam and off topic. I think I am allergic to it because as I see it, my eyes start to bake  .

Like you said I reported all spam, scam, off topic and all other forum abuse I found but not all maybe 30%. I wanted to do it correctly and to be sure that I don't get in trouble because of that. I read all topics about spam and reporting but still wasn't sure what and when to report. Asked about this few times and got a reply that we should report all abuse and moderators will choose if this is correct. For me this answer was clear "all is all" period.

Maybe there is a script running and if you report too fast the report button disappears. I don't know, I assume yes because got few times warnings that I'm doing this too fast (60 seconds time period) and after 3rd warning button was gone.

I know that we need more members and we are still very young forum. Personally I don't believe, that spam can help with anything and in particular to encourage more users to become interested and participate actively in discussions in our forum. Spam and off topic worsens the quality of reading and the quality of discussions overall. If spammers realize that their posts are not deleted, we will have the second Bitcointalk soon with thousands of spam posts and bots.

Who will want to be here then? Will it not be too late for reporting then?

So you got warnings for reporting? Then yes most probably the script took you as an abuser.

I also agree with your stance, that spam and off-topic worsen forum quality and I do not encourage it as well. But you don't have to report everything you see.  A minute gap for reporting seems realistic to me. Let the moderators do their jobs.

In other words you are saying let them do what they are doing because it will give the forum an exposure. Have you thought about the impact of negative exposure? If the forum can not earn respect from the community and from the outer world, if the outer world see that spammers are giving chances in this forum then people will deny asking service from this forum. We need to focus on quality not quantity. Good people, professional people follow quality. I would rather like a place with 2000 people where everyone interact with everyone then a place of 200,000 members where 180,000 are shitposters and bots.

See. I am not encouraging them. Mods can always delete unwanted posts. Considering the example I gave, only 50% posts made by him are not relevant, the rest 600 odd posts are relevant. For a member like me, posting 600 pots will take me a year. So yes they are a necessary evil.

And btw lets not mess with the post of EmoneyABC.

Sometimes off topic posts are worse from spam because it distracts attention from the main topic and often affects discussions. Off topic introduces a mess in conversations.

Seems like you have reported too many 
If the adjusted number do not exist the amount of report you made then you should be seeing "report" link. Good luck

Admin I can't see "report" button until today. Please do something to resolve this problem. I can't be punished for doing great job for the forum. This will be painful experience for anybody who will help to clean up this forum if he will be restricted from reporting after he finish his work.

Maybe again we can take from BTT and add a accuracy rate to reports. If you fell below 80% button disappears if you stay above you are good.

I agree that off topic posts represent a problem for this forum community, but we are still starting and focusing on the major issues.
Of course you can report an off topic, but I suggest don't be too rigid on these evaluations.

Here's my two cents:

- I agree with EmoneyABC overall, spam is very bad, particularly for this forum. Given that it is a revenue sharing platform, we have to be extra militant about deleting spam because we are effectively putting a target on our backs for spammers. I also think that negative karma for repeated offenders can be as effective as reporting the post, as users are likely to either appeal the negative karma, or move onto elsewhere. Deleting a post isn't necessarily an effective way of combatting repeated offenders.
- I recommend if possible a "Report spam" button alongside a regular "Report post" button, whereby EmoneyABC would be on the receiving end of the spam reports and is able to delete said spam. Presumably this could be done without having full admin rights, but only rights over reported spam? Basically I'm suggesting a spam moderator.
- EmoneyABC: Please don't use a larger font to make your point, I find this infuriating. We can all read your posts with regular sized text so unless there is a reason for having part of your text larger, enlarging your entire post is nothing more than attention seeking. It's as intolerable as ALL CAPS or making your post bold. Please don't do this anymore.
