I would probably add Waves as another platform that could compete with Ethereum. Waves will also have smart contracts soon.

As far as trading goes I think most things will be a heavy competition for Ethereum over the next year or so and will surpass Ethereum if casper/sharding doesn't work out by 2020. I'd say the best competitors imo are EOS, NULS, Icon, and NEO.

All altoins can't compete with Ethereum because it is very clear that the market price value is higher tharn other altcoins.Ethereum price will hit $500 in this year.

In my opinion, I think EOS, NEO and litecoin are ethereum competitors. But I think Ethereum is still the second of crypto currency. Ethereum is more valuable and more popular.

Some people are forgetting Credits they are making waves right now, they have a very active #DevelopmentTeam and they have a busy telegram group it's just a matter of time before people notice Credits presence in the cryptocurrency.

Mentioned above crypto currency is too weak when competing to Ethereum although they already gain respect to many investors but can't equate when comparing to ethereum because this is very much popular and we can compare it's popularity to bitcoin.

I think the best ethereum Eos can only compete with ethereum. Because these two coins have Eos at 3 and ETH has 2 numbers. So, they can compete with who to go before.

I think the closest competitor is waves and eos, eos is almost the same as ethereum but eos is a newer project so there are many opportunities to compete with ethereum and have the opportunity to bring new technology but the competition will not be felt in the near future maybe a few years.

Yeah from day by day the Ethereum competitors increase cause now there is a lot of coin who offer a smart contract feature too. Like NEO, ONT when we hodl them, they give us free gasses too.
But we must remember ETH platform is more famous than its competitors and you can see that a lot of ICO still using ETH as their platform. But i think ETH can handle it cause they are so active in develop their coin and i Hope they will give extra feature before their competitor walk one step above it. at the moment, ETH competitor still hard to reach ETH position.

I think competitor Ethrreum is eos because it is very potential and also this coin is good for replacing ethereum. Ethereum will get the big problem when it switch from proof of work PoW to proof of stake PoS due to there are decentralize application dapps on ethereum's blockchain right now and it can not be stoped by the developer of ethereum.

I think the tightest competitor from Ethereum is Ripple. Ripple itself is one of the 5 best coins in the Crypto World and ranks below Ethereum. The Ripple itself is only 7% of the price of Ethereum at the moment, bro. Even then it has not been reviewed with the current market conditions which are getting better between Ripple and Ethereum.

The real competitor of Ethereum is Bitcoin. But if in Altcoin I think the closest competitor of Ethereum is Ripple. Ripple is the only coin whose price and market also approach Ethereum and only about 10% of the higher Ethereum price. But Ripple will find it difficult to reach Ethereum because the Ethereum market is relatively stable.

I think bitcoin cash ( BCH) will be ethereum's competitor at the future. BCH is modification of bitcoin and will be the next bitcoin. I believe it.

Bch and Eos are youngest coin compared with ethereum.Eos is new block chain technology it has more advance technology than ethereum also it has able to handle smart contract. I have similliar to your opinion, but I don't agree about Qtum and I wanna to add Stellar and XRP to this list, especially Stellar.

Straight to. Ethereum's current competitor in the Crypto World is actually Bitcoin. But if in Altcoinm, many Ethreum competitors. As you said earlier, there are EOS, Ripple, Litecoin and others. But it will be difficult for them to defeat Ethereum because Ethereum is currently doing well. It will also take a long time for them to be able to surpass Ethereum.
