Fake SHIB in my TRC-20 wallet
« on: October 30, 2021, 09:13:59 AM »

I used to be wondering if the SHIB that I got mysteriously to my TRC-20 wallet can be real or just another fake gimmick just like the one affecting many BSC wallets and done with an evil intention of wreaking havoc with the wallet and its content once you decide to exchange it to another token or something like that...

Now, I got the answer...and the final verdict is that it is just another FAKE token appropriating the name of SHIB under the TRC-20 platform...now my dream of having some SHIB has been crushed but the truth can set us free...free from possible scam.

I would recommend everyone who entered shib to exit this coin, since vertical growth is always accompanied by a vertical fall.

Some of my BSC wallets containing tokens also have some unknown cryptocurrencies called Zepe, AIR and FLUX. Moreover, 700,000 and 960,000 each. I thought that those tokens, which are now sometimes issued in hundreds of billions, or even trillions, are being sent out for advertising. I looked that they are not traded and they are not on CoinMarketCap and just stopped paying attention to them. Something I did not think that they can still harm my wallet. Could it be a hidden virus or a program that can withdraw other tokens from the wallet?

Those tokens are not viruses, they are simply scams with the intention of people adding liquidity to some DEX believing that they are the original tokens or supposed hidden gems. The best thing you can do is stop paying attention to them and before making any transaction check the addresses of the contracts on the official web pages of the projects. SHIB is now a big claim for many people, scammers take advantage of it to attract new users willing to "invest".

It's very common nowadays that almost all smart contract platforms have many faked tokens from BSC, Polygon, Ethereum, Tron, and many others, that's why vigilance is highly needed before buying or trading cryptocurrencies in many Decentralized exchange platforms just check first and for the better visit the compare the smart-contract of that token.

If you would have connected your TRC-20 Shib then the dream of a hacker will be fulfilled by your negligence. We must be careful about such coins that are not known and land mysteriously in your wallet. There are several fake coins in our wallet most of the newbies become victims of such coins by connecting the wallet So we must be careful and should not be in haste to connect the wallet and should always connect after confirming in the dedicated group of the coin.

Yes, That's true.
Be carefull, there are several fake coin will be sent to our wallet, don't do transaction with them.
If you feel didn't buy or do transfer to your wallet and the got coins, You should check their contract. Suspicious or not.

Scams are becoming common in the crypto market, investors need to be more careful with tokens, especially need to get in the habit of checking project profiles on Coinmarketcap or CoinGecko. Before we want to make a profit, we need to keep our money.

There have been several types of a scam like this. The exactly utilize the hype of Shib, by creating this scam.
Be careful, because sometimes, this is more interesting and many people may be trapped.
Afaik, Shib is on Ethereum-based, right?

These TRC-20 SHIB tokens can be airdrops tokens to attract investors or they are fake tokens.  Fake tokens are more likely because there is no deposit option for TRC-20 SHIB tokens in any crypto exchange. Hackers send these fake tokens to our wallet and they hack our wallet when we go to swap them. So don't try to swap it.

I also have these fake and scan tokens in my BSC wallets and I understand that when you exchange them using DEX they can gain access to your wallet and be able to drain whatever can be inside of it. That's why we have to be careful with any token that just show up and you wondered where did you get them...most likely they are with evil intentions. Now, am hoping that there is a way for us to get rid of these tokens or maybe the wallet would first ask us if we want them to come in the first place.

Lol. It's normal. My tron and bsc wallets are overcrowded with scam airdrops. Once I see an unsolicited airdrop worth more than $100, I usually laugh and hide it. They can't catch me with that

Many people got fake SHIB on TRON and thought it was real SHIB, they didn't check on Coinmarketcap and fell into a scam. In the worst case scenario, if holders swap via JustSwap, they risk losing all crypto assets in their wallet.

Before claiming this kind of reward, you should check out the coin contract address . Because this is the only way , how you can detect is the coin real or fake. You can go to CMC and search the coin , look it network  and then contract address. If everything get detected same , just claim the token or stay away from this kind of reward . Because this kind of fake reward will take away your full investment . I have faced this kind of problem many time but i am alert of it always .

Re: Fake SHIB in my TRC-20 wallet
« Reply #14 on: November 02, 2021, 05:58:24 PM »
Basically, if you see something suspicious, never mind those tokens. Do not believe Shib on TRC network unless it was officially announced by Shib team. Anyway, no need to give much attention to those fake tokens. Ignore all of them(there are another fake tokens).

I would recommend everyone who entered shib to exit this coin, since vertical growth is always accompanied by a vertical fall.

If I think about Vitalik, maybe I buy some Shib and try to forget for >5 months .
