Sorry, but all this looks like that when the country has a bad, corrupt government, it doesn't matter if they do a lottery or just raise taxes - everything will be bad. But aside from mandatory taxes, no one forces people to play when they don't like their government. Therefore, it's not entirely correct to say that all government lotteries take away the last from people. People willingly give by themself.

That's true, no one forces anyone to play. However, due to the high amount of money that is being shown to the public of the possible amount to win, a lot of people are being blinded and start playing to try their luck. Just like what is being shown in the video, the jackpot price in the lottery is the amount that can change anyone's life which is enough to become an encouragement for the public to buy a lottery ticket.

A lot of people are being blinded and being taken their money without knowing that it is another way to get more funds especially for the poor. It's a sad reality that everyone should realize.

Well, at that point, you are right. The lottery that is under the government is not forcing anyone to be honest; it is still our choice whether we will bet or not. That's why we know that there are more poor people who rely on the lottery to lift them out of the poverty they face in life.

Maybe for others, betting on the lottery is a hope for them because once they get the jackpot, they are instant millionaires. Even though they know the chances are dim, they still have the feeling that they might get lucky. So they bet.

Yes, because I have not seen anybody or even heard about anybody that won this government lotteries. They just manipulate the results, and take the tax to themselves. Hce you came across anybody that won a any of these government lotteries before

For a moment, I totally forgot  that the government itself operates a huge gambling operation through lotteries which are among the biggest gambling games worldwide in terms of popularity and player numbers (as I believe). In my country the government currently runs a smaller lottery known as Sport Lotto which despite that it is so old, I even remember my dad when I was a little child participated weekly on it. It is also broadcasted on national TV every couple days still. However, throughout all these years I still didn’t and never heard of anyone I know coming close to winning it or even discussing it anymore.
In both cases, this is still gambling and everyone or all players are responsible for their behaviors and spendings in such games. Even when that lottery ticket looks tempting in a store the choice to buy it and gamble is yours alone, so any result of that is your responsibility. It's nothing like a tax nor a mandatory expense to pay, simply ignore it if you prefer not to participate.

Personally, I would rather spend my money on casinos or virtual lotteries that have been proven to be legitimate than on these massive lotteries with odds of winning lower than 0.0000001% if it’s legit in first place.

Unfortunately, I have not watched the video yet, but surely will do when I have more time to spare.

But aside that, I will totally agree that government lotteries are definitely a scam, but who really cares? As long as a winner is announced from time to time, people will keep playing and hoping that the next winner to be announced will be them, and unfortunately, some may play the government lottories from their young age till they pass on, and will never have the experience of what it feels like to win the lottery.

These are just what they do then the average citizens who spends their little funds buying tickets hoping to be the lucky winner loses out without knowing the real deal behind the scheme.

These are the reasons I don not give in to these lotteries of a thing. I do not bother about that and I do not even encourage any of my family members waste their funds for such exercise neither will I allow my loved ones waste their resources on an already scripted process.

You know that the lottery, if you look at it in general, becomes the hope of poor people who have no hope in life. They are the type whose only hope is the lottery to get out of trouble; they don't want to work hard to work or do a small business; instead, they rely on betting on the lottery.

This is the sad reality, but there are also others who are in the middle class who also really love the lottery because, of course, they also hope that they might get lucky. Apparently, the government is also so full of porridge that they easily make millions from the number of lottery bettors.
