1. read mo ung whitepaper
2. intindihin mo. how much you think the project can go.
3. do a background check. (outside.. maybe try googling it)
4. see how the experts respond.. and also other critical comments if available.

in the end it is all in your judgement..
also..

after the "credibility" has been verifed by you.
check the bounty>>allocation..
you can estimate if it will be worth it in some sense.

well, experience counts along w/ good education. so build-up you gain.

It goes by saying that a good trader marks for continuous profit.
does crypto work like forex?
i mean some of the techniques on trading real currencies or even stocks do apply but for a novice trader... or even the old gramps..

are there any 'taboos' to watch out for in crypto trading?
