Title: Can dollar be replaced?
Post by: Delgboke on December 12, 2020, 05:38:08 AM
There was a claim that China want their currency which is yuan to replace the US dollar as the worlds global currency. That would give it more control over its economy. sometimes I just be wondering how this countries always push their own currency in the forefront ahead of other country, regarding to what China is saying about their yuan currency in trying to make it gain more value than US dollar. Base on your own opinion can that be possible?

Of course, the consolidation of its currency in the world depends directly on the country's economy, as well as on the foreign policy of the state. China has been taking the lead in the economy around the world for several years, but the popularity of its currency is not growing like the dollar. It's a long and thorny path ...

It will not be possible to replace it with China One and digital currency, which is so popular like USD.
Bitcoin is growing in popularity day by day but USDT is a hundred year old coin so it is very unlikely that one bitcoin will be replaced by other cryptocurrencies.

The government of China has this overarching vision of dominating, controlling and even exploiting the world resources to make their economy the strongest one and of course to make the country the top one when it comes to important other areas like the military, the culture and global commerce. Central to this vision is to make its national currency the one to replace the US Dollar in the global commerce transactions. How China can do it can be an amazing story of success but it can also mean the end of USA's leadership and hegemony, and that can mean that all the side effects of the country's propensity to print money will now be coming on itself. Now, to the question: Will that be possible? Yes, it can be possible. The next question is: will China make it? That is where I am doubting it. Maybe the story can go down one day as just Made in China attempt...because there will be another group of nations that will be filling in with this category.

It will still be difficult for the Chinese Yuan to replace dollars. Where we know that Dollars is a very strong currency. It will not be shaken easily and it will also take a long time for Yuan to replace dollars. This is my response.

Honestly, it is very difficult to believe in this, because already very long time all countries are trying to equate themselves with America and dollar, and therefore dollar is still the most popular and demanded currency around the world, and I think in the future it will most likely remain so.

This are only mare rumor that will never see the day of light, it is very impossible for something like this to happen, we are in the 21st century and not in stoneage, what will the US be doing when dollar is been replaced by yuan! Maybe it is possible with a small and dependent country but not a world power like the United States, never going to happen.

We see that China's economy has grown greatly in recent decades, so the desire of its government to see its national currency, the yuan, as a global world currency instead of the dollar is quite logical.  To this end, the Chinese government is also the first among other large states to seek to release its digital yuan.  This may well be possible in the future.  However, the yuan is unlikely to succeed in completely replacing the dollar; most likely, there will be several world currencies, including the yuan.

What I know is China has 2 fiat currencies (CNY and RMB) and now they are making digital yuan using blockchain technology.
The dollar is a strong currency and has a lot of influence in every transaction of selling and buying goods between countries, which will replace the dollar in the future is Bitcoin, cross-country transactions will take place quickly and easily to use. I think digital Yuan or fiat currency Yuan there is still a long way to go for shifting dollar currencies in terms of global transactions.

Currently, China is developing very fast in all sectors, so that now China is right to become the next Adi power country. The Chinese currency itself has been widely used in several Asian countries, but I think the Chinese Yuan will not easily replace the Dollar as a global currency. As long as the United States is still a powerful country, the Dollar currency will not be replaced by the currencies of other countries.

We should forget about what read and see in the news and media, forget the political difference in their nation, they are as strong as lion who always and continue to rule the jungle.

Actually it could happen. Moreover, China is like fighting the USD openly and seriously. In this case, they consider that the USD has had power for too long and dominate currencies around the world. We know how strong and powerful China is in the world. So maybe this could happen in the next few years if China is serious and wants to go beyond it.

I think these questions should be when USD will be replaced. This happens many times before in our history. Gold is replaced by petro dollars and petrodollars will also be replaced by digital currency or electronic money one day. People like to use what is convenient for them and in this case, crypto is the winner.

Gold was once reserved funds for every country. Later on, the USA replace the petrodollar with gold. Till now it still the same but this will also be replaced with something else. Thats how it happens every time we have seen from the past. I think BTC can be used as reserve funds like how we have used it with gold before.

It may well be. The Chinese economy is now developing very rapidly and it is quite possible that in the near future it will displace the dollar. The printing of dollars is growing and this does not give it sustainability and value. In the past year alone, about 22 percent of the total money supply of dollars was printed. It is enough that some large states refuse to use it and it will collapse.
In many ways, in this regard, it will depend on the success of the launch and circulation of the Chinese digitalized yuan. This is a new type of financial asset that has no analogues yet. It won't even be based on blockchain technology as previously thought.

And I, for some reason, am sure that in the next 10 - 20 years, the Chinese yuan will oust the dollar from the first position. The dollar took its leading position at a time when the United States held an overwhelming lead, politically and economically. And now the world has changed, the end of US hegemony is coming, and with this something may change for the better.

I really did not get the direction of this post yet. Is it that China wants to replace US dollar in the world economic trade, in terms of international (from the position of USD being used as a standard for international means of transactions) or as a stable coin in the crypto market? USD has been used for several years as a standard of transactions internationally, and because of that, it made its use in the crypto world go popular too. China yuan could find it difficult to take such place, despite the fact their economy is good internationally.

The Chinese yuan has a good chance of replacing the US dollar in the future. This is primarily due to the fact that the Chinese economy is developing very rapidly. If the current pace continues, it will be possible in a few years. Given how many dollars have been printed recently, states can simply abandon the dollar and switch to the yuan.

There will be no competition if you don't try and develop everything, because this is a fiat currency whose value will depend on many aspects I don't think these two currencies will compete with crypto, the dollar will still be in the lead and the Yuan will always keep up with the movements of the dollar.

The position of the dollar or yuan in the world financial market is primarily determined by the state of the economies of these states. We see that economically China continues to strengthen, and its economy continues to grow. Therefore, it is possible that someday the yuan will replace the dollar as a world currency. Of course, this will happen gradually. First, he must compare with the dollar, and only then beat him. This is a very long and thorny path.

That would give it more control over its economy. sometimes I just be wondering how this countries always push their own currency in the forefront ahead of other country, regarding to what China is saying about their yuan currency in trying to make it gain more value than US dollar. Base on your own opinion can that be possible?

I have read many big brother opinion here said dollar is really difficult be replaced. Because US government will keep and against it. Dollar is very popular but I also agree anything can happen at crypto space  . Because digital currency is the future currency.

Replacing the dollar is a really difficult thing the united states wanted to replace the dollar to protect its own interests but in the case of cryptocurrencies, no one can control it. Even if you introduce your own country's currency it will take a long time to become popular.

of course any country would like to have its national currency strong enough to be used as an international currency, like the United States dollar. but for this one really needs to have not only a strong economy, but also a sufficiently large influence throughout the world, in political, economic and financial terms. Perhaps even militarily. recently, there has been a very frequent discussion of a competition between the dollar and the Chinese yuan.

China has been doing very well in terms of economic development and growth, and I believe that this is how a countries currency gets valuable, but for China to stand up now and want their yuan currency to replace united states dollars, I won't say it's impossible but its definitely not going to be an easy one, and even if this is ever going to happen, it will take several tens of years, the entire would have already recognized united states dollars as the global currency, it will take a lot of time to change this.

It will be difficult to replace the dollar, because this currency is very popular. Besides that, the excess of the dollar is that this currency can be accepted and used almost all over the world, while Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency are still many countries that reject it.

By the way, personally, I have no problem with the dollar, or with other currencies that can be replaced dollar. I just think about when the time to replace it, or probably dollar will last to be the most important currency to use. It is still hard to predict, mate!

I also believe this cryptocurrency can be what we want because cryptocurrency is not centralized and can change over time.

I agree with you too but I really dont see any Fiat currency replacing Dollar in the near future let alone cryptocurrency. You realize that means, the UAS have lost their economic power to a digital currency and that goes for other countries too because if the Dollar is what most if not all countries measure their currency by and it is now replaced by the Dollar, what do you think will happen to the other currencies? So I dont think this is happening any time soon.

since the government always manipulates its capabilities, creating inflationary processes in the country, this leads to the depreciation of national currencies. it is thanks to cryptocurrencies that people will be able to save their savings without losing value, as is now happening in many countries with national currencies.

In any case, the Chinese government will try to replace the dollar with its yuan, at least first in its Asia-Pacific region. China's economy is very powerful, it is developing rapidly and claims to bypass the US economy. Therefore, everything is absolutely possible. The official release of the digitized yuan in the near future may play a significant role in this. After all, all other states, including the United States, have already lagged far behind China in digitizing their currencies.

Even Bitcoin won't be able to replace the Dollar $ at least that is not visible yet. We all love Bitcoin and we want it to eventually be globally adopted but to think the Dollar will be replaced by Bitcoin is stepping too far because thinking of what the dollar is and what it represents, then you might have a rethink to that claim.

I believe that with the forthcoming appearance of the digital Yuan, many things that seemed unable to change could change in a short space of time. The Chinese economy does not stop growing and reaching new markets while the United States and the dollar each day have higher inflation and less power, and these events undoubtedly threaten the reign of the dollar, moving it closer to second place every day and increasing China's power around the world.

But there is no need to completely write off the dollar from the accounts yet. This is the world currency that regulates the currencies of many states. Of course, China has developed its economy very much recently, but I think that the struggle for leadership will last for quite a long time.

This is quite possible. Here, the statement of the Chinese government itself is not so important as real actions that can raise the Chinese economy to the first place in the world. Following this, it is absolutely probable that corresponding changes will take place in the financial world. This will be a long process, most likely that the yuan will first displace the dollar in the South Pacific region, and then and further.

China and the United States will never be "friends," especially with the latest news in which a group of Chinese hackers allegedly attacked some infrastructures in the United States. The United States is a great military power, but over the years it has to fight against great inflation that weakens it compared to its competitors. Nothing is eternal, so I would not be surprised if the United States soon lost its status as the world's leading economic power.

YUAN and USD compete with each other in the real market and of course also overlap to create their own market and want to be the king of Fiat around the world and maybe in the future will also collaborate with cryptocurrencies in the future to be the best.

What you say is totally true. China has managed to climb to become one of the greatest economic powers in the world thanks to effort and enormous sacrifices (its own government devalued the Yuan when necessary) and knowing how to compete with other markets. While China devalued its currency, the United States government did nothing against inflation, and the United States can pay for it at a high price.

Theoretically and practically, it is quite possible to replace the dollar as a global world currency. The dollar since the seventies has not been backed by gold and paper dollars have been printed many times more than the value of all goods and services in the United States. If governments now presented paper dollars to the US government for redemption, the US would immediately default. For this reason, the US government makes sure that the paper stock of dollars is not returned back into the country. This balancing act is very dangerous.

This is a very important question, but without a straight forward answer, come to think of it, the USD has been the world currency since the US has been the world power, aside this the China nation has been working so hard to lead in the world power but it has continued to be a fruitless effort, The US nation will not seat and watch that happen because for the Chinese Yuan to be the world's currency that simply means the Chinese nation rules the world.
What I'm saying in reply to the question is this, it will be very impossible, if there should be any possibility in it, it will be hell difficult.

In terms of economic development, China is becoming a world leader. Perhaps the Chinese currency will be able to defeat the dollar in its long-term leadership. But unfortunately, the default of the dollar will hit the economies of all countries very hard, so I have an ambivalent attitude to this phenomenon. But if we think objectively, the dollar should collapse in the foreseeable future.

That would give it more control over its economy. sometimes I just be wondering how this countries always push their own currency in the forefront ahead of other country, regarding to what China is saying about their yuan currency in trying to make it gain more value than US dollar. About China clammed yuan will replace dollars, it doesn't happen yet.

So, I think crypto currency also can replace dollar at the coming future.

It depends on what to replace it with. After all, the dollar in the financial system is like bitcoin in cryptocurrency. All currencies of the world are traded against the dollar.A dollar can buy everything. It's the same with Bitcoin. So I do not know what should happen for the dollar to stop being accepted somewhere and another currency to come in its place.

In my opinion, US dallar can't be replace by any currency, it is the king of fiats currencies just like bitcoin remains the king all coins/tokens. The Chinese yuan can not, and will not dominate the US dallar no matter how the Chinese economy is booming, the western nations will always be ahead of other countries in many ways including the world economic affairs. China will always make some impact but will not dominate USA/Britain, these two nations are the pointer to whether on economy, political, technology, matters etc.

It's not easy to replace the dollar because the dollar is the currency for world trades. Basically we all know that most of the manufacturing plants are in China so most of the countries are fully dependent on their material that's why he pushed his currency to be used widely instead of the USA dollar but for the past 2-3 years I have noticed many countries are trying to reduce the dependability from the China.  The USA dollar is quite strong than Yuan but we should not forget China's economy is growing very faster than other countries and he is giving strong fight to the USA at the moment.

The dollar is of great importance for the global financial system. I don't think there will be a fiat currency in the near future that will replace the dollar. Many people keep their savings not in the national currency but in US dollars, this indicates confidence in the dollar on the part of ordinary citizens.

It will be almost impossible to replace the dollar now. I still maintain my point: USD needs to be maintained so that we have a basis to compare the value of crypto and everything in the economy. Of course, I am not against the plan to launch CBDC as US crypto USD in the future. That could bode well for the global wave of CBDCs.

Even China right now keep banning the bitcoin and this will effect the Yuhan to adopt in whole over the world .

This question is not specific, however, I don't think Dollar can be replaced by any fiat currency, but as for crypto (Bitcoin), it may not be possible. One of the reasons is because the dollar is a fait note while crypto is digital, and the dollar is the world accepted international currency that may hardly be replaced by any other fiat currency too.

There is no chance for Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency to replace the dollar. Developed states will not agree to this under any circumstances. The American dollar can replace the currency of a country with a stronger economy than the US. It is in this area that the main battle for leadership takes place. We see such rivalry between the US and China. But China is still largely dependent on the supply of high-tech goods from the US and Europe. And this means that China will continue to be afraid of sanctions from these countries and regions. Until China gets rid of such dependence, its yuan will always be below the dollar.

All could be possible if coupled with the support of several countries that began to refer to that country (china). However, it is not that easy, perhaps there needs to be support from most of the major countries in the world who have started to provide real support for it.

The majority of the trade deals happen in the Dollar or we can say the dollar is the global currency to trade worldwide so replacing the dollar does not seem to be possible. Yuan can replace Dollar only when the trade deal globally starts in Yuan instead of the dollar otherwise it's not possible in my opinion.

Dollar will probably never be replaced by any crypto, and least likely by an altcoin. Dollar is the strongest currency in the world, and is the legal tender of the superpower nation - America. Moreover, the value of bitcoin and all altcoins are primarily expressed through USD. Maybe the government may accept crypto as a second legal tender, but it will be least likely to replace the dollar as a whole.

Replacing the dollar will not be easy. The dollar has been built to control the international market worldwide. It will not be possible for the yuan to replace the US dollar. The struggle for financial and economic superiority between the dollar and the yuan has been going on for a long time. This is actually an economic cold war going on between the two most powerful states. The dollar is still feeling good and does not intend to leave its championship. So far I don't see that option. Especially now that China is threatening to attack Taiwan. Even a quick and victorious war always has a very negative effect on any state.

Theoretically, it is possible to replace the dollar as the world reserve currency with another currency. However, for this it is necessary that a significant majority of states want this and accept it as such, that is, in their international payments with other states they pay in a different currency. And for this it is necessary that the economy of this state be stable and the liquidity of the currency be high. I don’t yet see the prerequisites for switching from the dollar to another world currency. The desire of some states to move away from using the dollar is more due to political reasons.

Over the past few months, countries have slowly stepped away from using USD and wanted to trade in their currency or Yuan. Russia is currently doing the majority of its trades in the Yuan. Few African countries started holding their Forex reserves in the Yuan. BRICS is also looking to trade in their currency and wants to launch a new currency to counter USD effects.
It is very early to say that a currency will replace USD in the near future, but we might see this happening after a few decades I think.

The yuan can compete with the dollar, but replacement in the global monetary system requires economic stability, open markets and international agreements, which will take time.
This is a complex process, as the dollar has long-term stability and global trust. The implementation of such changes requires broad support from the global community. But still, everything is possible, nothing lasts forever, not even currency.

Replacing the world currency seems very difficult to do because there are groups that control world banks and prefer the dollar as the world currency that can be used anywhere. However, when talking about currencies, the yuan actually still has a chance to dominate the world currency but requires a lot of capital. many and, of course, should provide merchants who accept yuan payments from all over the world.

If the Chinese Yuan wants to shift from the USD, it could happen because business competition in various sectors is now dominated by the Chinese market.
But if the Yuan wants to remove the USD, it definitely can't or even if it could, it would have to wait a very long time because the Marketcap of the USD is so very large.
Just look at the cryptocurrency market, the most common trading pairs with Fiat are pairs with USDT, USDC, DAI, FDUSD and all of them are tokens based on Fiat USD. This is proof that the USD is very strong if it wants to be defeated by the Yuan from China.

For China to replace the Dollar with the Yuan, they need to make significant improvements in several areas. Firstly, they need to clarify their future intentions with the yuan and increase the financial transparency of their market. Even if they dominate in various sectors, this alone will not increase their chances of achieving their goal.

This issue is even more political than financial. Replacing the dollar with the yuan or another currency as a global reserve currency is only possible if the United States ceases to be a superpower and actively influence global political processes. Yes, China, Russia, Iran and some other states that have fallen under international sanctions or may fall under them are interested in weakening the dollar and strengthening their currency. But so far these efforts have not led to anything serious. The dollar is not threatened in this regard yet.

I just don't know. Maybe it's possible to say that the yuan can compete with the dollar, but I'm not sure if it can replace the dollar that is recognized around the world. Maybe it's possible if he surpasses what the dollar does around the world and its impact, which is why it is recognized by the whole world or every country.

It is difficult to say what will happen to the dollar, especially if we are talking about the future. But who knows, right? We know that one day the Yuan will suddenly replace the dollar in its disposition.

I'm going to ask 2 simple questions:
1. WHY ?
2. What to replace the dollar with ?

there will be no answers. There are no objective reasons for the destruction of the international settlement system based on the dollar. No, I realize that there are those who:
- simply can't get a dollar and therefore can't buy something on the world market for their currency.
- "have a personal dislike of the dollar/USA".
- those who simply envy the dollar.
...but all this is no reason to break a well and stable system.

There is no answer to the second question at all, because now there is no more convenient, stable, recognized instrument for mutual settlements on the world market.

If I am wrong and you have an alternative opinion - we can discuss any proposal in a reasoned manner :).
