I think bitcoin has more pros than cons. As a pro it helps you in many ways to save extra money by spending a little of your time and use it for some project you want to do. But the cons are what you basically mention, terrorism. I think for that would require at least a minimum an ID to combat that very serious problem.

I would only make an investment based on reputation and having previous knowledge in the area of my interest, otherwise I would only follow the plan of saving and investing in the currency of my preference as backup until an investment comes out of some project that likes me.
