Ethereum Forum / Best competitors to Ethereum?
« on: July 28, 2018, 05:39:56 PM »
Which are the best competitors to Ethereum, and why do you think so?

(I know on top of my head that Cardano and IOTA try to challenge Ethereum,
although they still haven't proved much from my understanding?)

Bitcoin Forum / WHY DO MOST PEOPLE FORGET BITCOIN SO SOON?
« on: July 28, 2018, 04:09:43 PM »
Anytime i see some members of this forum asking "Is Bitcoin dead"?, or "Is this the fall of bitcoin" i just become speechless because it is so shocking to hear that within just six months when bitcoin improved the financial status of people last year without any hard sweating people have forgotten about it so soon. I now understand the saying that "Men forgets easily". Well i can't really blame them but I know the few Real Crypto Enthusiasts like myself still believe in BITCOIN and we are going to keep investing in it because we know that the its value will rise with time.

Crypto currency Mining / About minners
« on: July 19, 2018, 06:54:44 AM »
I'm afraid of the coin miners. With virtual digging capabilities - also known as a hashrate - is increasingly concentrated on relatively small holdings, which may increase the risk that diggers will jointly perform attacks to make up 51% of control. Transactional activities or code changes in the blockchain to their will.

Bitcoin Forum / Criminals in South Africa wants bitcoins
« on: July 17, 2018, 10:09:56 AM »
There you got it.In South Africa the criminals demanded bitcoins for a child who they kidnap.I don't think they know really what bitcoin is all about. You will read more and more story's about this type behavior of criminals.Criminals  will do this all over the world .I think one of these day's there  will be a program that can track your movements of your bitcoin in the way criminals  behave  nowadays.

Here is the full story

"  Mpumalanga boy whose kidnappers demanded Bitcoin found
46 minutes ago   Jan Bornman and Iavan Pijoos
Mpumalanga police have confirmed that Katlego Marite, the 12-year-old boy who was abducted outside his home in eMalahleni this past weekend, has been found.

Provincial police spokesperson Brigadier Leonard Hlathi said he was found in eMalahleni on Thursday afternoon.

"We found him around Witbank. He was found alone," Hlathi said.

"I am on my way there and I will get more information. The investigators are with him, so they can’t speak to me," he said.

Marite was kidnapped outside his parents’ home on Sunday afternoon. Hlathi said Marite was taken by a man dressed in black with a green jacket, before jumping into a gold-coloured Toyota Corolla.

"Katlego’s friends ran to his mom and told her about the ordeal, she in turn reported the incident to the police," he said.

A ransom note was allegedly left behind demanding a ransom of 15 Bitcoin for his release. The value of 15 Bitcoin – the decentralised, digital, cryptocurrency – is roughly around R1.5m."

Sorting Box / Why do we trust hardware wallet manufacturers?
« on: July 17, 2018, 10:05:49 AM »
I have recently bought a hardware wallet. (Ledger Nano S)

This made me think about the reasons why I should trust my life savings
to these companies? They write software that I cannot understand and I
trust other people to verify that the software that they wrote is 100% safe.

Why do I trust the people who "verified" that code? I have no idea what
their motivation is and if I can trust them.

The only answer that I could get, was that the honesty and the trust
would benefit the group and the community that was using this
technology.

Bitcoin Forum / How to recover my lost bitcoin wallet password?
« on: July 17, 2018, 06:13:07 AM »
People who can't remember their Bitcoin wallet passwords are really freaking out now,and not all early cryptocurrency enthusiasts are counting their coins. Instead they might be racking their brains trying to remember their wallet passwords, without which those few Bitcoins they bought as an experiment a few years ago could be locked away forever. This is really a bad thing,it's like forgetting a bank account password, but there's no bank to call to reset it.

Actyally, this bad thing happened to me last year, and my friend recommend this website:http://recovermybtc.com/ to me,she said she has retrieved her bitcoin wallet password through it,and I used it last month,in fact,it really works after I used it,and I instantly knew that other people may face the same issue,so I recommend it to your guys.

Some people maybe had confusion that bad guys have the chance to steal their wallet money when the software decrypt the password, but this software can operate without a network so that users can protect their’ confidentiality, and it doesn’t upload any of your information, without giving them any opportunity to steal your money. and you can make you computers offline all the time until the password was obtained, and until the coins has been transferred ,then make the computer connect the Internet, and I had retrieved my password through it,hopefully it can help you.

Good luck to your guys.

Sorting Box / A coins origin and chinese new year
« on: July 17, 2018, 04:27:55 AM »
Apologies if i've posted this in the wrong place.

I've noticed that a lot of people in the forums are talking about chinese coins and what affect they have on the market, especially if the chinese do a crypto ban.

Other then reading each coins whitepaper, is there a site like coinmarketcap.com that lists each coin and where its from?

I am looking at purchasing some more coins today but i noticed its the chinese new year tomorrow.

Does anyone think the chinese new year tomorrow will have a negative impact on the market?

Thank you in advance!

Hi, I have just registered to get some ideas about good coins to buy and hodl for a long term.
I don't want to invest in coins that are now in a bubble but coins with a real project behind with a promising future and of course increase of its price.
I also don't like to invest in ICO's.
I am watching some projects that have interesting platforms already launched in beta and still don't have much media attention, and still it is easy to get in direct touch with their teams and still are not on big exchanges.

Any tips?

Other Popular Cryptos / Coins / What is your trading strategy?
« on: July 16, 2018, 11:35:58 AM »
Hey guys, I keep thinking what are the most poppular/most efficient trading strategies. Also do you trade on a few specific coins that you just trade on through out the year or not?

I want to ask you to share yours, but of course you don't have to be specific, just say if its e.g. arbitrage, bot/margin trading, buy the dip / hodl, pnd or whatever else. If its somthing other than in the poll just talk about it here or in general feel free to discuss trading strategies.

I personally like to hodl, not sure that can be counted as trading strategy, but wanted to go first.

Litecoin Forum / Litecoin pools
« on: July 15, 2018, 08:56:35 PM »
I noticed that a lot of Litecoin pools have been experiencing some issues lately, and being the kind of guy that usually sticks with just one pool this is starting to hurt my economy.
So I'm currently looking for any and all Litecoin pools that don't suck.

So, where are you mining?

Sorting Box / I just sent LTC to a BTC address! Halp!
« on: July 15, 2018, 08:43:46 PM »
I accidentally sent some LTC from BTC-E exchange to my BTC address on a different website.
I'm in limbo right now, my funds aren't showing up anywhere. Don't tell me they can be spent cross-currency like this!?
