second a wallet for storing your money i would like to advice you to use nano ledger if you have lot of money because its like a cold wallet( offline ) and secure for the moment .

because I was used to using MEW from the start so I haven't tried anything else. so this is just a factor of habit and I also feel that MEW is still safe and reliable, especially now that there is a metamask that can be the right configuration.
