A whole new perspective
Convert Carbon started as an idea at the beginning of the pandemic from the new reality in which everything was shutting or slowing down and the need for efficiency became more apparent than ever. After careful market research, industry analysis, preliminary discussions with potential partners, this project has come to fruition.

Our team studied the way things are done now and found out that one of the main issues in the industry is transparency. Nobody knows the exact numbers! Natural capital needs to be protected, conserved, and enhanced so that the health and well-being of the citizens can be protected from environmental-related risks and impacts. Not only should this ideal serve as an example for the rest of the world, but it can also have significant impacts in terms of cross-border business when selling products produced in high emission countries for example.

To achieve the European Green Deal’s ambitious vision and transition to a greener and more circular economy, it is necessary to synchronize with society’s digital transformation, developing greener digital technologies that can help achieve a better and more sustainable future for all citizens and our planet. This is at the core of the new Industrial Strategy for Europe, as announced in March 2020

Digital technologies can support environmental policies such as waste and recycling and are expected to contribute to decarbonization across several sectors, including transport and mobility, decentralized energy systems, and smart climate-neutral solutions. For instance, by tracking when and where electricity is most needed, it is possible to increase energy efficiency, burning less oil or coal, and increase material efficiency. Also, with data gathered from devices connected through the Internet of Things, processes in construction and industry can be streamlined to use fewer resources.


We need to raise awareness of pollution and how much we can impact the quality of everyday life. We are needed because the process is complicated, lacks transparency, and even though everybody is talking about it, few actually do something. We are needed because more and more companies are downsizing and reducing their infrastructures both internally and externally, trying to save time, therefore money.


We are needed in this space because our infrastructure can be the backbone of settling the recycling controversy. More and more societies have become aware of the immediate dangers that pollution poses, and thus be more active in adopting a healthier and greener lifestyle with an accent on measures that limit pollution-generating activities.
Millions upon millions of tons of plastic are dumped into our bodies of water. Therefore contaminating all our food sources, endangering life as we know.

What is a ‘European Green Deal’?

As a climate project, the European Green Deal needs to show genuine honesty and urgency in the face of unprecedented citizen concern about the climate emergency. This means shaking up normal EU functioning to avoid stagnation and political capture.

As a social project, the European Green Deal will need to face up to the inequalities shaping how different regions and social groups will be impacted by the climate transition. The Just Transition imperative goes far beyond coal to other sectors in transition across the economy and means investment in ‘just resilience’ to respond to the uneven impacts of climate disasters. Finance is useful but ultimately a Just Transition Fund will not be sufficient on its own.

As an economic project, the European Green Deal has the potential to stimulate investment in the face of a weakening global economy and persistent economic inequalities. This echoes previous New Deal and Green New Deal concepts. But its success depends on going further: addressing the structural economic risks posed by climate change and pivoting European industry to be able to succeed in a zero-carbon economy.

As a European project, the European Green Deal needs to engage citizens, not just in token initiatives but by redesigning markets, institutions, and financing mechanisms to give citizens a more direct stake. The project will also need to overcome recent East-West divides. This requires patient engagement rather than regulatory derogations.

Finally, as an international project, the European Green Deal needs to find a more geopolitical approach within a more geopolitical Commission. Climate politics are reshaping global power dynamics. Climate security for Europeans can only be achieved by acting both within and beyond Europe’s borders.

The Convert Carbon - Carbon Technical Solution (CRB)

Our platform aims to be the go-to place for anyone and anything concerning waste management for everybody involved, from manufacturers, end-users, authorized state, or third-party audit companies.

2012 is the data year for the most recent BEA IO accounts, which is why the 2020 WIO report estimates the recycling impacts for this year.
Direct impacts are associated with the actual transformation of recyclable materials into marketable products. This includes, for example, the number of employees involved with recycling operations that produce steel castings from iron and steel scrap, or the transformation of aluminum scrap into semi-fabricated products.

Indirect impacts include upstream supply chain economic activity that supports recycling processes. Using the steel recycling example, these impacts include the number of employees who work for suppliers of steel recycling facilities (e.g., electric utilities) and employees of other suppliers throughout the upstream supply chain. Together, both direct and indirect impacts represent the total impacts on jobs, wages, and tax revenue from recycling (Figure 1). This accounting of the economic impacts of recycling is hereafter referred to as the “Total Impacts Approach”.

This will be a huge step forward and a new way we can take care of our planet, doing our small part and generating income for everyday things or as a future investment.
