Bitcoin Will Not Become Legal Tender in Uzbekistan, Central Bank Official Insist

Cryptocurrency cannot be adopted as a means of payment in Uzbekistan, a high-ranking official from the country’s central bank has recently stated. Speaking to local media, the regulator’s representative also noted that unlike cryptocurrencies, the national fiat is backed by the bank’s assets. The statement comes in spite of Tashkent’s crypto-friendly moves in the past. See more for yourself here.

The country may not be following the example of El Salvador but the most important thing is that they allowed Bitcoin to be circulated among its people and may not have the plan to follow China in banning the said cryptocurrency. In my view, we can never expect many countries to do the El Salvador way but may just recognized Bitcoin as a digital asset allowed to be used by the people. This is similar to my country, we have our fiat money yet the government is not restricting Bitcoin.
