I don't think ethereum can be a substitute for bitcoin because until now ethereum still has too much supply and of course ethereum is mostly controlled by the ethereum founders so it is very dangerous, ethereum has to cut 80% of the total supply to make the price of ethereum very expensive and even like bitcoin price.

you are right that ethereum to date in CMC / CG is the second coin after bitcoin, where if you look at the market capitalization it is clear that there is still no one that can compete with the two coins. even the bnb that did surprise last year hasn't even been able to get close to ethereum, and it's not possible with other coins. these two coins will be in control of the trade for a long time and it will likely be difficult for anyone to replace them without a surprise that can shift them, even if it seems impossible.


but if ethereum will replace bitcoin, of course, it is certainly very unlikely to happen with the current market capitalization difference, it is clear that it is unlikely to happen in the future though.
