At times, people may not notice it. If you live your life to impress people, that’s the number one mistake. Live a life of contentment. You may not know what people go through to live big and large.

I totally agree with what you said at the conclusion. We all should live a life of contentment, because it helps us to grow. Just because Mr A bought a shoe of 100k and your monthly income is 70k you want to buy that shoe just to impress others, no that is not right it can bring your financial status down, and it will cause unnecessary loans, and credits which will affect you financially.
But being contented with what you have doesn't mean you have to fold your arms and rely on just one way of making money when there can be other possible means, you have to also work hard and put your efforts so that you will grow above your level.
Always work hard so that you can be useful in the society.

Well, I would qualify. It is clear that borrowing to impress, which is very much in vogue, judging by the level of indebtedness of the population and what you see on social media, is one of the worst things you can do, financially speaking. Anyone living a fake life is not been sincere to himself, because a time will come that people will know that you are faking your life. I also see those person as scammers because that is why they are borrowing clothes and the rest to look good, so that they can deceive whoever, that they have plan to scam. I have a friend when I was in the university, he claims what he is not and he borrows to show off, but one day when students find out that he is not what he claims, a lot of people admiring him, couldn't cope with his fake life anymore, and he was ashamed because nobody could trust him anymore, even his girlfriend. This was how he lost some of his friends that wanted to help him.

There's a quote that says, "don't live a fake life in order to please others because no body can live your own life better than you do." I believe that anyone who live a life of contentment will really be more happy than someone who is living a fake life because even in the fake life, you are still spend to rent things you don't have meanwhile you should have just use those money to get things you can afford to have.  Most people that lives a fake rich lifestyle ends up to spend unwisely because they are always trying to show off and consequences of their actions can really hit hard on them.

I just wish those living a fake life will hear all these that fake life is costly and it doesn't pay shit or make one bigger or brighter than others who choose to be real with their fellow being. Anyway, I see those living a fake life as those who think less of themselves, needing the validation of others to feel like a whole being. You have spoken well. I have come to realise that most times people give in to peer pressure which results them to living a fake life. They always allow the things of the society outweigh them as a result of their peer influence on them.
You can imagine you being in the midst of your peers that are doing well and you are just there making up the number but not in line with the fact that you been able to achieve something. This sometimes makes people to patch up their lapses just to remain in the circle by living a fake life
Some go extra miles to endulge in things that is not normal in the society just to meet up.

I have always say this that if one is in the midst of his or her peers and is under pressure to meet up, you just have to cut them off or if you can , learn from them if only they are legit, they would be willing to support you as long as you are their friend and you are good and passionate to grow up. Nothing stops them from helping you out if they are for real as your friends. Atleast they would want to see you be in the same level with them.

For instance, a person goes to rent a car and then pretend like the car is his just to make an impression and then whenever your friends or relatives have need for your car and it gets to a point you can't say no, you'll need to go and spend money to rent the car again just to keep convincing them you actually own the car.

This can be very demanding and requires a lot for you to be able to maintain such a lifestyle.

However, when you are not faking your life, you will be able to economize and save in order to plan for a better life. Fake life is a waste of time and resources, but I don't know why some people are enjoying it.

Sooner or later you would really be able to feel out that kind of shortage of funds on the time that you cant really be able to get in line on what you are trying to copy on.

The modern generation are living their life with the help of credit cards and personal loans just because they fell into the consumerism trap.

You can see people claim having iPhone is mandatory and they consider it as financial statement but in reality $1000 iPhone or $100 android do the same tasks and we have to choose which one will comes under our budget.

Yes of-course fake life is  a scam that is why you see scammers everywhere.  The repercussion of living or leading a fake life is very disastrous as it causes one to lose credibility as you have said.  Look around, people who live a fake life always end up with shame  an regrets in the long run. They mess themselves up just for the gains that would not last long as a result of how they got it.

As you have said, a fake life is an expensive lifestyle because you will be going for things you can not afford and that would lead you into committing atrocities which ordinarily, you would not have done.
