Title: How Does Zcash Differ From Zcoin?
Post by: Crestie C. Tuvilla on May 25, 2018, 04:57:26 AM
To distill it into quick and easy terms, Zcash differs from Zcoin in the following ways:

Both Zcash and Zcoin hide the identities of the sender and recipient. However, Zcash additionally obfuscates the transaction amount.
It is currently very difficult to detect hyperinflation in Zcash because of the obfuscation. It is unauditable, where Zcoin can be audited because its transaction history is available.
Zcash’s technology is uncharted space, and there is hesitancy regarding the assumption that bad actors will not collude. Zcoin’s technology has undergone much peer review.
Zcash uses more memory and has longer transaction times, while Zcoin requires more storage space

Zcash (ZEC) gives up how much the nominal amount of funds in each transaction is valid, while Zcoin (XZC) does not. So this shows that Zcash is superior to its confidential side, but on the other hand it makes it difficult to detect hyper-inflation statusat its supply. The best way to describe it is by imagining if there is a bug that justifies people to create more Zcash from their money supply, then no one will know that it happened. This problem has happened to Bitcoin in 2010 when he was attacked by "overflow bugs"which increases Bitcoin supply by more than 90 billion bitcoins

Because  I  have  been a  long  time  community  member  of  both of these  projects  and  personally  I think  Zcoin  has  a   much  more  transparent  community  and  are  actually  concerned  about  the   issues  that  are  pointed  in their  technology.

I think I know about ZCash that it is deflationary like Bitcoin, has a better privacy than Bitcoin (which is also riskier in a way since it may place a smaller, innocent trader or investor under suspicions by involving him in a bigger transaction and by this forcing an investigation upon that smaller .
