Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: Can bitcoin survive without altcoins?
« on: December 22, 2018, 11:38:47 AM »
I'm sure you already know this, but suffice to say that Bitcoin is in a world of its own and will continue to be the catalyst for the growth of altcoins. Should altcoins die off, BTC will still survive IMHO even though it will see a lot apathy like we're experiencing with the bear market condition.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: Too many Altcoins without value?
« on: December 18, 2018, 02:11:50 PM »
The number of worthless coins in the space today is a reflection of how profitable the crypto world has been especially in the year 2017. Many of these projects had no business being in the crypto space in the first place and as such they just came to milk money from investors without any genuine intention ab inito. It was a get rich quick scheme for most of them and they ended up leaving coins of worth and leaving the thrash coins in the market

The decision is mostly hinged on the your plans ab initio. Some people join a bounty and then plan to flip the tokens once they're listed on the exchange, some plan for hodl for a long time. So, you can decide to sell immediately upon listing and hodl. But in these times of dwindling token prices upon listing, there's every possibility that you will be selling a huge loss due to the current bearish state of the market.

Can we all just forget about a massive pump for a minute? Because this isn't about to happen anytime soon. The fundamentals don't point in that direction at all. The market first needs to recover and then become stable before a pump can be entertained. Remember what is a pump for others is just a mere recovery for many, especially those who have been hodling and weathering the current storm

Cryptocurrency Trading / Is Bitcoin still respecting Technical Analysis?
« on: December 14, 2018, 03:04:55 PM »
From January 2018 to date, Bitcoin and altcoins have been on a free fall, to the extent Technical Analysis by so called experts in the space have not been respected. Several times supports zones have been breached by the fall in BTC especially, thus making a mess of TAs. So I ask, at this rate, is it safe to still regard TAs churned out by these experts, or it's better to simply observe the market and work with Fundamentals

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: When Will The Market Recover?
« on: December 13, 2018, 12:09:03 PM »
This is one question no one can answer and even vaguely say with certainty. The current conditions has not shown any signs the market is on the road to recovery. There are no fundamentals pointing in that direction. We can only be hopeful of a major positive news to hit the space in 2019 like the approval of a Bitcoin ETF that's still hanging in the balance at the moment.

Most governments see cryptocurrencies as a threat to their national currencies and economy and as such they'll continue to fight it. Unfortunately, some of them see it as some conduit to perpetrate fraudulent activities, without having to get down to how beneficial it would be to their day to day running

Cryptocurrency discussions / Worry less, some people are worse hit
« on: December 11, 2018, 12:38:45 PM »
The crypto world is currently is one replete with so many levels of emotion and reactions various levels of loses experienced by people. While some people are stunned about the monies they've lost, we should also take a minute or two think about people some of these coins at their ATH in December of 2017, people who bought BTC @ $19k, ETH @ $1200 Ripple @ $3, NEO @ $168, etc. Most of these guys have almost lost their entire investment and what is preventing a total is the fact that they're yet to sell, some have chosen to hodl which for me the best decision.

The current market conditions has affected overall sentiments and how people are reacting to it. But despite the prevalent situation, I still believe in cryptos because I believe it's the future. I also still believe in bounties and believe that should the market pick up again, bounties will become more profitable as it used to be, but for this to happen, fraudulent and scam ICOs will need to be weeded out of the crypto space.

Legality & Taxation of Cryptos / Re: Are Bounty Hunters In Danger From SEC?
« on: December 04, 2018, 10:54:42 PM »
I don't think the SEC have jurisdictions over social media and what should or shouldn't go on there. Individual social media platform owners could decide to censor ICO related posts just like Facebook did at some point this year. But should push come to shoves, bounty hunters could continue working on other platforms like Altcointalk, Bitcointalk, etc

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: Will every crypto coin survive?
« on: December 03, 2018, 10:50:56 AM »
As it stands, a lot of coins are already dead and stand no chance of coming back to life. This is because these projects have no real use case and no business being in this space in the first place. The current market condition may as well be a blessing in disguise as it will help weed the space of scam projects and coins.

These celebrities like a few crypto investors do not fully understand what they're about and just blindly follow it. For celebrities it gets worse because they have a huge fan base and there's always a bandwagon effect with regards to what they throw their weight behind. I guess this will serve as a deterrent to others

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: Is whitepaper a reality of the project?
« on: December 01, 2018, 01:09:30 AM »
These days fancy whitepapers mean nothing, this is because we've come to find out these guys contract the writing of these documents to professional to make it more appealing to the investing public. Some are even copy of existing projects. It's therefore, not something you should rely on 100% to invest in an ICO.

Elimination and weeding of worthless coins from the space isn't a sign of a bull run in my opinion. These are projects that had no business being here in the first instance and some had rogue devs whose major intention was scamming the investing public. While the bull run is what we all crave now, delisting shitcoins is unconnected to it.

Been in this space for a while and I know that bounty hunters alone don't cause the dumping of tokens. These projects dole out huge bonuses during presale and private sales, most of them without any lock-in period for these bonuses. The first thing they do is dump these bonuses at the exchange after listing. This is one of the reasons I query admins in their telegram about lock-in period for bonuses and for how long
