General Discussion / Re: Formal education. Overrated?
« Last post by Dr.Bitcoin_Strange on Today at 12:16:29 AM »
It really depends. Generally speaking, Formal education is not overrated at all. For example, the job market in Korea is pretty competitive. The whole thing is a rat race. You literally can't get a job if you're only with a high school degree. To work in a big corporation like Samsung, you normally need to graduate from the top 3 universities in Korea.
Similar situations happen in other Asian countries. A degree is actually an entry ticket for many companies.
Yeah in so many cultures, formal education is highly valued, most especially in civilized countries. A degree from a reputable university can give a person a sure ticket to companies and can also give a person more advantage in the job market than someone without a degree.

So saying formal education in this sense, is overrated is absolutely wrong.
The fact that the education system has failed in some countries doesn't mean it's like that in other countries, there are still places where the educational structures are still very functional and active.

Way too many people are talking about it, I remember the time when China wasn't against bitcoin, and they had bunch of miners, almost all of bitcoin mining was there, that wasn't like 100 years ago, its recent memory, and bitcoin did well but not like something unreal happened. We should definitely consider that as a good news if it ever happens again, it would be something to celebrate, but do not expect like overnight a million dollars per coin type of thing, maybe a small increase but that's about it. I don't get why people suddenly started to talk about this, and not only that but hype the possibility as well.

Just don't trust anyone.
Don't trust anyone who tries to scam you. And don't easily believe in various sweet promises made by other people towards you, with promises of high proofs, high investment results, assistance, and all things related to requests to send a certain amount of money, assets, personal data, and especially foreign seeds. or access to your wallet. Just don't trust everyone in the digital business, be aware and watch out.

I appreciate it! Take care :)

I'm a newbie trader who recently came across a futures trading challenge. To qualify for the rewards, you need to meet some requirements. As I've never done something like this before, I'd love to get tips and tricks from experienced traders who have participated in a trading challenge. Would be glad to hear your response.
There are several things I caught from your post here:
- You are a newbie in trading
- You are also a newbie in future trading
- You want to take part in the future trading challenge/competition
- You still don't know how.

then, all I can say is:
Don't follow the challenge.

Yes, why?
Because you really aren't ready for that. Did you know that futures trading is very risky? Even if you can make money, will you really run out? Are you aware of that? Or are you just thinking about the prizes and high profits that you can get from future trading? If yes, forget it. Future trading is more risky than ordinary spot trading. Even if you don't understand how to do it, this will be very risky.

It's better if you prepare yourself first, learn about spot trading first. If you understand indicator analysis, both TA and FA analysis, then you can start to increase your insight and knowledge in future trading. It also requires a lot of perseverance and knowledge. Because the risk is very high.

Gambling discussion / Re: should gambling be completely banned?
« Last post by luckyledger on Today at 12:08:15 AM »

Actually, based on the level gambling is going these days, on my own opinion, it should be banned. Reason being is, Student in college are no longer focus in studying because of gambling. Children below 18 years, under age are involve in gambling, and it's lead to them, stealing their parents money for gambling. It has disintegrate families and relationships in the society, so to me the disadvantage of gambling in the society is more than the advantage it gives to the society, based on that,it should be banned that's my opinion.
Maybe a lesson is out there to be learned? Parents need to teach their children about addiction and the dangers of getting too involved in gambling. Show them what can and will happen to most people. The problem isn't gambling itsself, it's people. People are stupid.

Let's think about it like this. We all see the ads on TV telling you the dangers of smoking. You see the surgeon general warning on every pack of cigarettes, but does that stop people from smoking? Nope, millions upon millions of people are stupid enough to light up a smoke 15-30 times a day. Same goes for drugs, people watch morons shooting up heroin and dying daily, but they all think. " that won't happen to me". Are you stupid? It 100% will happen to you, you aren't built any different than the next guy.

Can gambling be bad, of course, but it doesn't need banned. People just need to treat it as entertainment and not life.

Very well said, people are the problem. Many do not want to take personal responsibility and instead hope the government will intervene, for example by closing casinos. But the problem is not really theirs. You must develop yourself and your children by teaching them useful skills and providing valuable information. So that these students will be able to make independent decisions in the future and be responsible for the consequences.

Gambling discussion / Re: Karate Combat

I just watched the Rockhold Vs Schilling fight, it was fairly entertaining.
Yes it was and I think that whole concept of Karate Combat is great and entertaining.
I have to check and study more what the official rules are but I think this is full contact karate with unified rules, compared to MMA this is not as brutal and bloody, but broken bones and noses can still happen  ;D

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: The impact of crypto on our lives
« Last post by yohananaomi on Today at 12:07:30 AM »
Mistakes are common in the crypto world when it comes to sending money from one place to another. Thieves try in a similar way to steal what is not theirs, which further complicates trust among users of the crypto world, because real users rely on security, only to have everything taken from them in the end. It can change your life, I know many users who went that way in the early stages of crypto development where the rewards on forums and trading were huge. I believe in crypto.
As far as I know, errors in sending from one place to another are very rare, because currently the facilities are good enough to control it before making a transaction them, if it still goes wrong, it would be a shame. If theft can often occur due to carelessness, in times of trouble, we can trust help that actually leads us astray and takes what we have.
I agree, usually all these incidents start to become known at first and are natural things that happen, but then you can be more selective. I think you're not the only one who believes in crypto. Almost everyone on this forum because of their belief in crypto.
