General Discussion / Re: What could $100 buy back in 2010?
« on: June 08, 2018, 10:35:47 PM »
You could've bought 25,000 bitcoins even in mid 2010.   D=  I didn't even know about it back then and even if I did I likely wouldn't have invested because I was a fool.

General Discussion / Re: Do you think the earth is flat?
« on: June 08, 2018, 10:32:12 PM »
There's no way the earth is flat.  It's easily provable that it isn't flat as well.  Anyone who tells you otherwise is full of shit.  Just take readings at different longitudes and have each person measure the angle the sun is at.  Most flat earth maps are completely wrong as well, they show australia as being over two times the size it actually is.  It's a complete shit show of half baked conspiracy facts.

Sorting Box / Re: Which is good for the novice, hold or trade?
« on: June 08, 2018, 10:25:21 PM »
I think you can make both work, but trading will take a bit more work to get experienced enough to turn a profit.  If you're going to involve yourself in TA every day looking at charts, even a novice trader can become experienced quite quickly.  Holding is pretty decent overall though, there are lots of projects I just pick up and forget about in cold storage.  Check on em 6 months to a year from now and then decide where to go from there.   I still day trade, but never with coins I'm holding.

There's lots of different methods to earning money in the crypto world.  Day trading is probably the most common.  Pick some coins that have decent price action (fluctuations daily between 10-20% or so) and buy low sell high.  It may seem more complicated than that but it really isn't.  The trick is to diversify your investments.  Every coin in the market will have different price action so you can invest in a different one if one isn't doing well currently.  The worst thing is to get stuck in an investment before you're able to get out in profit.  To minimize the damage of that, don't invest everything into one thing.  Invest multiple different coins.  At the same time, you can minimize your risk by buying more in as the price drops on a coin as well.  As the price drops and you get more and more invested, the average price of your investment per coin lowers overall, allowing you to take profit earlier when things rise again.  There's lots of different methods, but you should find one and stick to it.  Leave emotions out of the decision, they will get you killed in the market.

General Discussion / Re: Afraid of investments?
« on: May 29, 2018, 03:55:33 AM »
I'm not scared of investing in ICOs but it isn't allowed in my country.  There are some I wouldn't invest in, but it's usually because the company appears to be involved in shady behavior.  Good projects are usually legit, and legit past the surface level as well.  For instance, if there's a project that has a working product already, they're far more likely to be worth investing in because they're already working on it and producing results.  A lot of ICOs are just tricks and you can see that by seeing they haven't actually produced anything.

Why can't we have both?  I think privacy to a certain extent should be important for everyone to have access to.  We shouldn't have to restructure our society because there are a few people out there who aim to do terrible things.  Infringing on everyone's privacy to attempt to stop that small group is a terrible way to go about it, and likely still won't stop anything.  We've had our lives snooped on for the past decade now, but that hasn't stopped any of these school shootings, or any of the other shootings in general.  The one's that have been stopped are because someone in that person's life saw red flags and did something about it.  We need more of that, not general surveillance of the public.  People have the right to privacy.

General Discussion / Re: What makes you happy?

I get happy when I see other people being happy.  It makes me even happier if I had a hand in making them laugh or brighten their day somewhat.
