How Will Ethereum's Price React To Bitcoin ETF Approval?

Approving a Bitcoin ETF could set a regulatory precedent to ease the path for other crypto-based ETFs. The reasoning is that a Bitcoin ETF approval would likely involve establishing a framework that could be applicable to other cryptocurrencies, including Ethereum.

In December 2023, the SEC delayed its decision on several pending Ethereum ETF applications in the U.S. to May 2024. This includes the Hashdex Nasdaq Ethereum ETF, the Grayscale Ethereum Futures ETF, the VanEck spot Ethereum ETF, and the spot Ethereum ETF lodged by Cathie Wood’s ARK Invest and 21Shares.

These delays are part of the SEC's process, which involves gathering public input before deciding whether these ETFs should be listed. Nonetheless, they also appear amid the commission's attempt to categorize some proof-of-stake (PoS) cryptocurrencies as securities.

Interestingly, Ethereum is not named as a security in any of the SEC's recent lawsuits targeting crypto exchanges. The commission has also not challenged Ethereum's classification through the ETF registration process with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).

There is yet to be any news as regard to the ethereum ETF, but the Bitcoin ETF is live with 24huors trading volume hitting $1.2b. I am very optimistic that in the coming months some investors will start applying for Ethereum ETF. I also think that there may be other project, like SOLANA, BSC, POLYGON ETF in the future.

It will be difficult for Ethereum to be accepted by the ETF because Bitcoin alone was the first cryptocurrency created and we don't know whose development it took so long for it to be approved by the ETF.
Ethereum is indeed number 2 in coinmarketcap but that doesn't mean that ETFs can easily accept it, there have to be many rules and regulations for Ethereum to be recognized by ETFs, this is a complex problem.
I am also not sure that ETF will accept Ethereum in the short term, large investors need strong, safe and trustworthy confidence in Ethereum so that it can be accepted by ETF.

Now that it has been done , that spot ETF of Bitcoin is already approved so now we are leaning to what will be the faith of altcoins specially Ethereum if will be having its Own ETF or will be keeping behind bitcoin for another long years.

The SEC has just approved the Bitcoin ETF and trading started yesterday with turn up of millions, wouldn't that be too fast to demand for Ethereum ETF. Remember that a lot of pressures and lobbying were done before this was approve, they will have to double down their effort this time to get it approved because ETH is considered as securities in the new SEC ruling and I doubt if they are going to make it easy for them.

On second thought, don't you think Blackrock is trying to dominate crypto space? He might be a visionary person to people but I think the guy is only trying to capture everything under his trouser because of the inherent nature of stock and I also think he is trying to take away institutional investors who probably don't like crypto centralized exchanges. If crypto is controlled by a single person, the repercussions will be bad because middleman existence effects.

As for the Bitcoin ETF itself, it has now been approved, right? However, the increase in Bitcoin prices was not as significant as expected because after the increase, the price only went through a market correction and returned to its original price. I don't know whether this will last a long time or is it just because the market scheme is like that or because there is market manipulation so that the whales... can buy them first in large quantities and at a cheaper price before they pump the price of Bitcoin after the ETF is approved.

Well, in relation to the price of Ethereum, usually the price of ETH will follow Bitcoin. So I think that in the future the price of Ethereum could rise quite drastically following the price movement of Bitcoin itself.

We all expect a better market trend and the raise of Bitcoin price. But it seems not bring a big impact, it even can't stop the correction of Bitcoin price. Just look at the current market trend, many prices of crypto coins are red. It is the opposite of people prediction about the impact of Bitcoin ETF approval.

Considering how long it took the SEC to approve spot BTC-ETFs, the likelihood of ETH-ETFs appearing and being approved does seem pretty unlikely. However, I don't rule out that the SEC may soften its rhetoric towards cryptocurrencies in the future. In this case, ETH-ETFs, as well as ETFs of other top altcoins, might well appear on the market.

Agree with your option op. And for kind information, Bitcoin ETF is approved by the SEC and afterwards market experienced massive growth in price. And i think we may see ETF approval of ether in near future. And other topcoin might be follow the same way but i believe ether will make itself one step ahead among Other altcoins when it comes fo ETF approval after Bitcoin
