Title: Cautionary tale: Otho Network Scam
Post by: sw1911 on March 12, 2018, 01:04:56 AM
Probably the best executed scam i've come across in the last 6 months.  It had a well designed forum, a bounty campaign, a pretty big support network of promoters and mods (most were victims to the scam and it would've continue for a long time if not for the mods that pointed out the discrepancies).  They created an artificial demand by limiting participants for each airdrop phase.  You had to jump through hoops to be eligible for the drop which might have given it more credibility.  No one suspected it was a scam up to that point when they made the mistake of announcing the exchange it was going to be traded on, which raised the red flag.  Someone calculated the scam to be worth about $100k usd and no doubt would've been much, Much more if not for that one mistake.  Scams are getting more clever so be cautious and do your research before contributing to any project.

So the otho.network team executed a pretty good scam. Those of us in the project from the beginning have now been banned from their telegram and forums for outing this scam. We found out the sad news last night and over the course of today. I hope many of you didn't lose any money, for those of you that did I feel your pain and quite a few others as well.

This thread will hopefully prevent anyone else from being screwed over by these scumbags. Here is a few links to provide proof.

So this is a good lesson on how you can even be scammed by free airdrops. Disappointed is an understatement.

I totally agree! the guys at this professional level prepared this scam that I, with a lot of experience, had not the slightest doubt in this project, I am sure that they would earn much more than now if they let the project live. I was one of the first 200 people who were sent by airdrop OTHO
