There is always a perennial wisdom with the saying: "When something is too good to be true, then it probably is." This is quite applicable here in the cryptocurrency industry and in the world of investing in general. Never fall into the trap of promises of riches by just doing nothing...believing that you just throw your money into someone's wallet and you will experience skyrocketing ROI that can not be found anywhere else. Never ever believe that you can soon be financially rich this way...as this can surely lead to real-time poverty. I should know because I was a victim of many scams before as I was then gullible and can easily be manipulated. I lose my BTC because I trusted the words of some people...only to end up with empty bags of air. I could have been rich by now as BTC is now so valuable but alas it never happened because I was just another stupid guy in the corner. Now, it must be noted that scams may be using Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency but these scams should never be called as Bitcoin scams in the same way that we don't call any scam as fiat scam. Bitcoin is just used as a medium of exchange or like money in the transactions and Bitcoin (just like your normal money) will not care if someone is using it for scams or not as Bitcoin is not a police nor a judge.

As cryptocurrencies have their pros and cons, if you follow a good framework towards these coins in general then you will surely find Bitcoin as a trustworthy coin. And huge wealth has been invested in these coins, who use cryptocurrency to protect their privacy by illegally acquiring wealth. Cryptocurrencies are therefore highly tolerant in terms of asset security, and if you follow the market hype you will surely appreciate its volatility.

I don't like the title of the discussion as if it implies that Bitcoin is a scam, it's the people who use Bitcoin are the culprit it's not Bitcoin, if people use the dollar to scam people you would not say that the dollar is a scam but the people who use the dollar to scam people, its a misconception for many people that Bitcoin is the scam when the people who uses Bitcoin to scam people are the one who should be prosecuted. That could be a reason but the reason why we have high increase in scam because of Bitcoin is that Bitcoin is another new digital currency, unlike the fiat many people are used to, not many of them understand Bitcoin very well, so what scammers do is that they take advantage of people that know much about bitcoin like people that doesn't know how to safely secure their Bitcoin by backing up their seed phrase and private keys or people that don't know about private keys.
Some of this high return on investment is another aspect people don't know. Most people that have Bitcoin want a profit and because of the success story they have heard about Bitcoin, they don't think twice when scammers offer them high return on investment, some of them don't even know anything about investment all their life, it's through Bitcoin they come and that's why it's simple for scammers to steal Bitcoin from them.

Bitcoin is decentralized, no one else but you have control over it when you own it. And it is up to you to keep your assets protected. Also, it is irreversible. Once the transaction has been confirmed by the blockchain, you can not take it back or reverse the transaction. Once it's gone, it's gone.
The majority of people who are in BTC are mostly to make a profit and they are here as investors. For that reason, they do not know much about BTC and how to keep it safe. They are very easy targets for hacking and the hackers take advantage of that. The blockchain is transparent yet hard to track the footprint left by the hackers. It takes 1-2 mins to create a wallet. You mean PONZI's and HYIP's?
These are long time or old way of scamming people and those kind of scams are already rampant in 2015-2016 as far as i remember where there are tons of doublers
and some easy money making sites wayback. Dont know if they are still existing as of this moment but if yes then only noobs would really be totally that getting
victimized by it on which it is really that a sad way or path into those greedy newbies out there. Im not that saying that they do deserve those things but
losing up money on a scam which makes you more wiser on next time.

Fiat has scammers too, its not really related to crypto at all, it is related to the fact that crypto is something that allows people to use it like a currency, a way to transfer monatery value, just like fiat, or you can use stocks, or gold, whatever you want to use to be fair. However, that doesn't change the fact that we are seeing crypto being the unimportant part there. The most important part is that we are seeing it do much more and this is why we should consider it growing one way or another. And this could happen one way or another with either crypto or not, so its not really that important that scams exists, it would exist even if we eradicate all cryptos today.

There is also a high rate of scam using other tools too, the rate of BTC scams is nothing close to how high fiat scam is, but everyone talks about BTC scam because that is what the government wants the media to publish, so gullible people see BTC as nothing other than a tool for scammers.
However, take note that BTC's blockchain is public and not anonymous, so it is not suitable for scammers, to scam through the BTC network and hide your traces, you must have knowledge of BTC, and know how to use privacy solutions like mixers and CoinJoin implementations, and not many scammers want to go through this.

I don't think it's just Bitcoin but it also happens on FIAT, scammers just use Bitcoin and other crypto because most people don't have enough knowledge about Bitcoin and crypto which is why most of scammer use Crypto to scam people.
Even people who do not have much knowledge about Bitcoin say that Bitcoin is a scam but the fact they don't know exactly what is Bitcoin.
Just like some of my friends, thought that Bitcoin was networking even though I didn't give any referral links to them they said it was a networking and scam. They didn't know Bitcoin was legit only scammers use it to scam people, not the Bitcoin itself.

Anyways, Bitcoin is just a tool for the lawless and greedy elements to create something that is unpleasant in the ears and eyes of the Bitcoin community. The only drawback here is that even if these modus operandi was here for a long time some are still falling into it. I don't know why or maybe because they just wanted to take the risk of this get rich quick scheme in the hope of hitting the jackpot.

I was not able to understand your some of the words/lines due to grammatical mistakes, I suggest you to work on that, but besides that, I got the context of your post and that is, we should not blindly trust all coins, exchanges, instead focus on the real ones to avoid ourselves from scams, but besides these we should also not that BTC as get quick rich scheme.
And that is very true, because BTC is not going to double your money over night or going to make you rich overnight, proper time is there that have to be waited by a investors to get some returns on his/her money, I will say knowledge is the only solution to these problems, although BTC's adoption is increasing and scams too, but knowledge can save newbies from such scams, so before start investing in BTC, try to get some knowledge of how things works, if you don't understand, ask locals who knows.

The fact that someone cannot earn Bitcoin easily, as they are most likely offered by scammers, does not mean that Bitcoin or cryptocurrency is bad. We are looking for an income opportunity, but first of all, cryptocurrency should be seen as something more and valuable, and not a way to make money.

Fraud or scam isn't just in Bitcoin, dude. Even altcoins have more fraud. Look at how many scam projects there have been so far, there are so many. It's all just for money, for money. There is no other reason, because it is so easy to create a scam project and make a profit. Yes many scam platforms in many places will ask you to give high returns but why enter every scam platform after you know. Always remember that no one will give you high profits without interest, those who promise you high returns without hard work without interest, know that there is a touch of fraud. It is always better to be neutral on cryptocurrency platforms because those who are greedy for more are the ones who suffer the most. I don't claim to be a trader but as far as my experience goes I am fairly successful in trading. I always use best exchange binance trading platform to trade. I never enter fake website or doubt website because of which I have not been cheated till now. So always stay safe so that you stay away from scams.

Being consistent and only trading on binance is a good and safe place.
But it seems that you also don't know enough about the outside world besides binance, I did get caught in some scams, scams etc on various platforms, But it verified me a good enough experience to be able to know which platforms are scam and which ones are safe.
Because now many scam platforms are camouflaged imitating the real one.
Some argumentation that say Bitcoin is a scam at the moment, only apply to those who do not understand and understand what Bitcoin is.

It is people that are greedy in nature that will fall for the bitcoin doubling scam, because nobody will want to give you any unit from their bitcoin. So any platform that claims that they will add interest when you keep your bitcoin with them, are not to be trusted, because they are after your bitcoin, and that was why they came up with such service. I could remember during the covid 19 pandemic, when a scam was out and the scammers were claiming to be Bill Gate. This were the words used by the scammers....I have benefited a lot from my country, and I decided to guve back to my community, any amouny of bitcoin that you send to this address, you will get back double.

As far as I know and I am very sure of, bitcoin scams, is also crypto currency scams, this scammers target just about any crypto community that they see that the coin or token of that community is doing well, their target is usually not centered on bitcoin alone
So, personally, I would say that, referring to bitcoin scams as the highest in the crypto currency industry is kind of wrong, scammers will take just about any crypto currency from anyone if such a person let them.
And talking about exchanges, there are actually a lot of trustworthy exchanges around, atleast the lots I've personally used myself, and this not to say that scam exchanges don't exist, they do, but they are not popular as the legit ones.
So, to avoid being a victim of scam to any fraudulent exchange, avoid using exchanges that are not well known and lack reputation in the industry.

Fraud and scams exist anywhere around the world as long as money is involved in it, even casinos get robbed by some group of people, banks get robbed by group of people and high profile people get rub without been able to trace them, this is just to tell you that scammers will go to any length to scam people and get money from them, Bitcoin is just another platform that scammers operate in. We shouldn't always make it like internet scam started with Bitcoin.
We shouldn't forget that even the banks today that are meant to be transparent for the people are now the ones doing bad things, stealing money from customers accounts because the victim is dead, closing accounts without warning with money inside, these are people that control fiat and are doing scams and day light robbery yet we don't see them casted.

This is nothing new. If you see any services that offer a high return on investment without doing anything, this is just a pure scam and you don't have to pay attention to these websites. I would like to add some information as well, if you really want to be safe from hackers as a Bitcoin investors then try to open a cold wallet instead of hot wallet or custodian wallet. A cold wallet is much safer options than a hot wallet and custodian wallet is the worst one in the list.
If you really want to be safe then go for a cold wallet on a separate system. A cold wallet is sufficient enough to save you from those hackers. You can write your private keys on paper is save it in a safe place.

Bitcoin doublers have been very popular since I started to learn cryptocurrency way back in 2017. I've been hearing this, especially on popular social media platforms. There was a time as well when popular YouTube channels were getting hacked, and they would post a live video on that channel of some interview coming from a popular person, but behind that, it says "If you deposit X amount of crypto here, it will double in just a few minutes." which is impossible if you will add common sense if you hear it for the first time.
Anyway, Bitcoin has given us another opportunity to earn even if we are at home only. Bitcoin has given us another option which we can invest our money with. On the other hand, though, Bitcoin is being used as a tool by these scammers, and they are using it to scam newbies. In a world where nobody cares if you get scammed, let's always be vigilant, and aware of what we are doing. If possible, double or triple the website you're visiting, and equip yourself with knowledge, and know which are scam, and which are not.

It's best for you to know what website to make investment if a website scammed you that doesn't mean that bitcoin scammed you, and with what I am seeing you are giving bitcoin a bad misrepresentation and impression. But with the fact that fraud will continue to flourish - there will be articles + recommendations on how to avoid such situations. + If your stay in the market (more than 3-4 years), I think you have minimal knowledge in this regard. Basically, everything is as it was before. Where there are (not bad sources of income), there will be those who will try to impose scam schemes to earn money and so on.

They send pm unnecessarily and if you are not careful, they might get at you so easily and people that easily fall for them are newbies who have no idea how the system works. They send phishing link to their targets to click on them and once they ignorantly do that, the gain access to their devices and begin stealing of their details and information to undo them.

There are many strangers trying to trap someone including you and me who often get DMs of investment solicitations, new projects, free gifts etc.
It is a trap in front of our eyes that does not need to be thought about again and must be directly reported and blocked.
Famous people or group admins never DM directly, they will only send messages in chat, not privately.
I keep myself safe and stay away from scammers with such methods.

I personally do not respond to unknown telegram DMs. If I receive a PM on telegram and I do not know the sender, I immediately report and block the sender because I already know how they begin with their conversations to luring victims into investing in their scam projects.
Telegram is well known for housing cryptocurrency communities globally and as such, one needs to be very careful with strangers who are scammers claiming to be what they are not. They do that so s to get their victims click phishing links and also investing in their scam projects.
There are many strangers trying to trap someone including you and me who often get DMs of investment solicitations, new projects, free gifts etc.
It is a trap in front of our eyes that does not need to be thought about again and must be directly reported and blocked.
Famous people or group admins never DM directly, they will only send messages in chat, not privately.
I keep myself safe and stay away from scammers with such methods.

When the desperacy is there to make money, scammers can go to any length just to estort money from people. They do not care about the repercussion of their actions as they already are heartless with no conscience.
Sending PM is part of their tactics because from then they can communicate who ever they can convince to do their biding. Once that is done, they do away with their funds and assets as the case may be.
In other for one to always be on the safe side, blocking of unsolicited PMs from unknown persons is the only remedy. So therefore if you receive a PM from someone not on your contact list, it is expected that you get them reported and blocked instantly.

I think it doesn't only happen in Bounty Manager, because project offers like that can sometimes happen in ICOs that are raising funds and they make offers to everyone there and the targets for them are those who don't know about how cryptocurrency works completely so it's very easy to become a victim of fraud.

Scammers are pretending to be the support guy and giving links to create a ticket, which is a phishing scam. Last week, I tried to bridge some ETH from ETH main net to Blast network and I have used owlto.finance and unfortunately, my bridge was blocked due to some reason. So, I joined their discord server to talk with them.
Unfortunately, scammers are faster than the moderators. As soon as I posted my problem on the general chat, they instantly responded to me in public chat and gave a link to join another server and a link to create a ticket. The real support guy responded later. But, I was able to catch him that he is not the real support guy. Otherwise, I could have lost access to my wallet.

Well, lets just say that people have eyes for what is truly valuable, bitcoin is valuable, so, it shouldn't be or come as a surprise that we have so many people trying to steal our bitcoin from us, and as a matter of fact, it's not just bitcoin but any crypto currency that is truly worth something, even the ones that are worthless but have a promising future, the scammers and hackers are ready to take any crypto away from us if we loose our guide.
So, to be safe in the space, actually, for the safety of our funds, it's important we always adhere to all security protocols, which requires us keeping our wallets tight and secure at all times.

That was my first transaction with the owlto finance and it was one of the worst experiences I had. I thought it's been over a week now and I don't see any possibility of getting back my ETH. The amount wasn't big. But, we care about our money no matter how little it is. The support guys work very slowly, they don't respond to those tickets on time. Probably because of too many tickets.
More importantly, I didn't even know where I could bridge my mainnet ETH to Blast ETH and the only platform I was aware of was owlto finance. But later I discovered that Orbiter Finance also has blast net ETH and then I used Orbiter Finance instead of owlto finance.
BTW, we are going off-topic now. I am glad that I didn't fall for the scammers. The conclusion is, that not only in the Bitcoin community, but the entire internet is full of scammers.

You aren't a victim doesn't make you immune to them just that you need to continue protecting yourself in all aspect of internet today because Internet is the fastest and the most easiest way to get attached to you making you a host to them .
Those that fell in their traps have learnt a good lesson the hard way and they should be making changes now and if not maybe the harder way, scam does a pretty bad damage on their host but can be avoided, I just feel so sorry for those that have been scammed not in BITCOIN only but other aspect.

It was stated on that news that the Vietnamese escaped the compound due to physical abuses for not reaching their required quota. These kind of activities are quiet alarming to be honest and pose negative effects for us Bitcoin enthusiasts because authorities might implement a more strict and tighter implementation of regulation here in my country which is for me very disappointing.

Hmm. That is something terrible. However, the government should understand that Bitcoin is not a scam but a payment method. Scammers use Bitcoin just because of the privacy. Not only Bitcoin but other cryptos have similar functionality. We should not take Bitcoin negatively just because scammers are running their scams and use Bitcoin as a payment method.
We have a minister in our country who has been trying to tell the same thing to the higher authorities that it's just money. You cannot blame the money just because criminals used it as a payment method. If you ban Bitcoin, criminals will continue to do their crime no matter how.

But some people find them expensive so they choose free private wallets instead. Private wallets are easy to use and don't cost money but they might not be as secure as hardware wallets.

I agree. Unfortunately, people want everything to be done, for everything to work at the touch of a button. For me, on the other hand, many years ago I knew that I wanted to know what happened internally after pressing that button. The irony of all this is when we read or see news on television about phishing attacks, data theft, banking scams, trojans...
