I think it is appropriate to make this thread as I know that there are a lot of users of this forum who are fans of the Philippine Basketball Association.
Though i think at first this maybe lull but i think in the long run this thread will become busy.
Game in the next few minutes:
SMB Beermen vs Ginebra Kings for the best of seven five semi-finals.
I have Ginebra here ML @2.26 as i think they have the edge because of the crowd but this is anybody's ballgame.
-
nice. which platform do you bet in PBA?
the odds in sportsbet.io is no where close to what you said.

I used our local bookies, SportsPlus. The good thing about this bookies is that it only accepts fiat money as a bet and very convenient to use because you just need to log-in to your Gcash account and go find SportsPlus, very legit bookies. As of now, i don't use crypto-bookies as the transaction fees is too high.
Back to the topic, i lost my bet yesterday as the Beermen beat the Gin Kings by just two points. Good game, its just that the breaks of the game favors the Beermen. I expect the Gin Kings to adjust and bounce back next game.
-
The semis resume tomorrow and the Gin Kings is the slight favorite this early while Phoenix is still the underdog on their match-up against Magnolia. Game 2 is a game where the loser in game 1 had a high chance of winning as they will adjust on what went wrong on the first game so I'll be backing the game 1 losers for tomorrow's games.
Ginebra -2.5 @1.87 vs SMB Beermen
Phoenix +7.5 @1.84 vs Magnolia
-
Do or die for Phoenix and Ginebra in today's game. Of the two matches, i think Phoenix got a higher chance of being swept than Ginebra as both game 1 and game 2 were close games, it's just that the breaks of the game favored SMB Beermen. Limit the offensive output of Boatwright, might be the goal of the wards of coach Tim Cone tonight so again i will be betting for them.
Magnolia -4.5 @1.82 vs Phoenix
Ginebra -3.5 @1.88 vs SMB Beermen
edit:
What a game for Phoenix, after they were being down by as much as 21 points in the first half, they managed to came back and win the game by 18 points. Lost my bet there but no regrets as i thought Magnolia would finish them in their third encounter.
-
Lost my two bets last Sunday night, SMB swept Ginebra which was unexpected at least for me, they must have one game at least but SMB never allowed them to take one win.
For tomorrow's game, Phoenix has the momentum and i observed that the first two games where Magnolia won, they did not cover the spread so to be safe i'll be betting for Phoenix with that 6.5 handicap.
Phoenix 6.5 @1.94 vs Magnolia.
Hoping that Phoenix would win this series as to not see an all SMC teams playing in the finals.
-
So, everything is set, Magnolia did survive the gutsy Phoenix to earn a sit in the Finals against the SMB Beermen. Though this series is an all SMC team but i don't think that this will be rig as both teams were doing their very best to reach the Finals.
Though no odds have been released as of this writing but i think game 1 will be slightly even and i think SMB will be a slight favorite as they have the 7 time MVP back healthy.
Good luck guys on your choice, i'll be backing the Beermen on this series.
-
As expected, the Beermen blew away the Hotshots in the first game of the best-of-seven series. That second-quarter run by by the Beermen proved to be lethal for the Magnolia Hotshots, they scored 41 while Magnolia only managed to chip in 20 points in that turning point of the ball game.
Fatigue seems to be a factor in the opening game of the series as the wards of coach Victolero looks tired in the second half of the game while the Beermen looks fresh in the entire 48 minutes.
Surely, adjustments will be made in game 2 but i doubt it will bring down the Boatwright lead Beermen.
Congrats to those who bet for the Beermen on the opening game.
-
End of the first half and the score is 54-41 with San Miguel Beermen leading by 13 points. The Beermen were hot on the rainbow country while it's the opposite for the Magnolia Hotshots, shooting only 2/12. The Hotshots are exposed here big time, if they continue to miss those 3s then likely it would be 2-0 after this game as they have a hard time also attacking the basket due to the size of the Beermen.
-
Nice, I haven't followed the PBA though for a long time so I will be a newbie here, hehehe.
I'll just tail you on some bets mate, I need to familiarized myself again with the teams and the sets of players, unfortunately for me.
But it good that you open up a thread here and who knows, I might be back in the local basketball scene.

I know that you will get acquainted fast on the PBA, just watch a couple of games and that's it, you will already knew whose the favorite and the underdog next game.
Unlike in the NBA where upsets happens very often, here in the PBA, we can almost predict the winner, its the spread that what we are betting for.
Good to see you commenting on this thread bai, hope this is not the last.
-
The turning point of the series which is game 3 will be held tomorrow, must win for the Magnolia Hotshots as another loss will put them in a 0-3 hole which is very difficult to overturn. Another problem for the Hotshots is that they might play without Calvin Abueva as he might face suspension for the spat he had with Mo Tautua after game 2.
No odds yet but i expect SMB Beermen will still be the favorite and i would still be backing for them as Magnolia Hotshots have no advantage in any department of the game, they are smaller yet can't the 3s :).
-
And we had a series as Magnolia managed to snatched the victory in game 3 against the mighty Beermen. One contributing factor on why Magnolia was the inability of the Beermen to cash on their 3-point field goal as they only managed to sunk 7 out of 36 attempts, that's not the Beermen that we saw on games 1 and 2.
Mark Barroca's aggressive to drive to the basket paved the way for Magnolia's victory as the Zamboanga native chipped in 20 points in that ball game.
One thing was notable on that game 3 was the absence of Jericho Cruz as he was suspended by SMC for that tongue lashing incident that he had with Abueva in game 2. The question that lingers on my mind is that why suspend their own player when every game of the Finals is important and you could not afford to lose a single player in your rotation, something fishy is going on here.
-
The Series now tied at 2-2, becomes interesting as the Hotshot now gains momentum of the match.
The bad thing for the Beermen is that their reliable big man, Junemar Fajardo is injured and might not be available on game 5.
I will still be rooting for the Beermen here to win game 5 and ultimately the series, no odds yet but for sure the Beermen will be the slight underdog as the momentum has shifted to the side of Magnolia.
-
The series is now 3-2 in favor of the Beermen because of their hot shooting in the rainbow country. Jericho Cruz was clutch in that pivotal game 5 as he hit the nail of the coffin in the dying seconds of the ball game when their lead was trimmed down to only 3 points.
As observed, Cruz needs to duplicate his output in game 5 for them to win the series as Boatwright was contained by the defense of the Hotshots so shooters like Cruz and Lassiter need to step up their game, if not this will go to game 7.
-
End of the first of this exciting game 6 of the PBA Finals with Magnolia holding that 5-point lead with the score of 51-46. As I posted the other day if the Beermen would close out this series they need to duplicate the output of Jericho Cruz in the last game but tonight he has yet to score. Benie Boatwright is heavily defended in the first two quarters so they have to free him up by hitting the outside shots so that the Hotshots would be forced to not double him every time he got the ball.
I have my bet on Magnolia here and so far it looks good, just hoping that the intensity of Magnolia will continue in the second half.
-

Lost bet but it is what it is. I thought they were going to force a game 7 but SMB's defensive stops in the last quarter allowed them to turn it around. I think Magnolia made too many mistakes (Abueva in particular).

Yeah, that turnover by Magnolia in the dying minutes of the game really did the damage for them. I though that was money in the bag for Magnolia and we can see a game 7 but CJ Perez and Cruz's timely basket were lethal for Magnolia.
BTW, thanks for commenting on this thread @Zed0X.

Opening day once again for the PBA and we have two games for today and these are may bets.
Meralco Bolts -11.5 @1.80 vs Blackwater Bossings
TNT Tropang Giga -7.5 @1.85 vs ROS Elasto Painters
All-Filipino cup so i will go for the favorites for tonight as no import that could impact the game that makes it unpredictable.
-
Have not betting in the games of the PBA for the last two days as I'm on out-of-town, this means that I have not won a game yet in this conference.
NLEX Road Warriors -4.5 @1.89 vs Dyip
NorthPort Batang Pier -4.5 @1.84 vs Converge
Though most of the games have been won by the underdogs or the favorites failed to cover the spread but i'm still going for the favorites today and hoping they will win and cover the spread.
-
~
NorthPort Batang Pier -4.5 @1.84 vs Converge[/b]
Though most of the games have been won by the underdogs or the favorites failed to cover the spread but i'm still going for the favorites today and hoping they will win and cover the spread.
I tried to bet on this game just for fun. I put Converge to win the game, and at the same time, I also bet on them with a +5.5 spread.
At the end of the 3rd quarter, they had a double-digit lead coming into the 4th quarter, and I thought they will gonna win the game already so I didn't watch anymore. When I re-visit their website, I saw the game tied with a few seconds remaining. I was like "WTF!!!" when I saw it. I really thought that I was gonna win on it already.
Well, we know what happened after that. It went to overtime, and in the end, NorthPort won the game. I don't know what happened on that 4th quarter because I'm kind of bored already, but... I guess I'll just move on. :D Anyway, anybody here who can count the number of people watching games? ;D ;D

I did not watch that game live but just monitor the score, if that game doesn't go to overtime, you might have won your one bet, the one with the spread. I also though that i will lost that game also but fortunately for me, the game went into overtime and NorthPort did covered the spread.
About the game/crowd attendance, i think that issue won't improve and most likely it will get worse. The only games that people might watch are the out-of-town games.
-
As usual we have two games for today:
Blackwater -3.5 @1.88 vs Converge - Will go for the Bossings for tonight's game as they are inspired with their recent wins and their moral is high, Troy Rosario and James Yap showed the youth on how it is done to win games.
NLEX +6.5 @1.89 vs Meralco - will go for the underdog in this game.
1 win - 3 losses, not good so far but i hope this will improve in the coming days.
-
Last night's result:
1st game:
Blackwater - 90
Converge - 78
2nd game:
NLEX - 99
Meralco - 96
Have won my two bets last night fortunately hehe. One thing i observe with the Converge team, i think they are tanking, preparing the upcoming PBA draft as rumors has it that Justin Baltazar will join the draft and Converge is targeting him to be their pick if ever they get the number 1 pick lottery.
-
As usual we had two games for tonight.
1st game:
Phoenix vs NorthPort
2nd game:
Ginebra vs ROS
Unfortunately, my local bookies only covers the first game.
Phoenix -3.5 @2.02 vs NorthPort - Though NorthPort won their last game but i think Phoenix is too much for them.
-
Only one game for tonight:
NLEX -6.5 @1.86 vs Converge
Like what i have said before, Converge looks like they are tanking for the incoming PBA draft so the possibility of yet another loss is inevitable.
3 wins - 4 loses, my standings thus far.
-
Games for today:
1st game:
NLEX -2.5 @2.02 vs Blackwater - The Bossings will probably play hard today to extend their winning streak but Robert Bolick of NLEX might spoil their run.
2nd game:
Phoenix -3.5 @1.87 vs DYIP - Will go for Phoenix in this game, risky but i think the Fuelmaster could beat Dyip.
4Wins - 4Loses - my standings so far.
-
Results from last night's game.
1st game:
NLEX - 103
Blackwater - 97
2nd game:
Phoenix - 94
DYIP - 78
Robert Bolick led the way for the NLEX Road Warriors with his 21 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists while getting a lot of support from his team mates.
Have won my 2 bets and my standinds goes up to 6Wins and 4Losses.
-
Games for tonight:
1st game:
Blackwater vs Dyip
2nd game:
Magnolia vs Converge
Blackwater & over 188.5 @2.70 - my bet for the 1st game, don't know why the bookies didn't poy an ML odds for these games today but that bet is fine with me.
6Wins - 4Loses my standings
edit:
Blackwater lost the game against Dyip via that clutch 3 points by Tiongson while Magnolia Hotshots blew out Converge in the second game.
-
Games for tonight:
1st game:
Phoenix vs Rain or Shine
2nd game:
SMB Beermen vs TNT Katropa
I will only bet on the second game as my local bookies didn't cover the first game.
SMB -6.5 @1.87 vs TNT - Katropa is shorthanded as some of their key players are still on nursing bay so a bet for the Beermen is the way to go, at leasy for me.
6Wins - 5Loses, standing thus far.
-
Result from last night's game:
1st game:
ROS - 100
Phoenix - 85
2nd game:
SMB - 91
TNT - 89
Lost my bet as SMB, though they win but did not cover the 6.5 spread. As usual Junemar Fajardo led the way for the Beermen with his 15 points and 17 rebounds.
6Wins - 6Loses thus far.
-
No games for tonight as PBA is taking a break and preparing for the All-Star game that will be held in Bacolod City.
Next PBA games will be on March 31, 2024, stay tuned.
-
Ginebra ML @2.32 vs Magnolia
SMB -9.5 @1.87 vs Phoenix
^^ My bets for tonight's game. Hope the crowd will be a factor in the second game and help Ginebra win the game against Magnolia. The first game is a little bit risky because of the high spread but i do hope the Beermen will cover the spread.
-
Result from last night's game:
1st game:
SMB Beermen - 116
Phoenix Fuel Masters - 102
2nd game:
Ginebra - 87
magnolia - 77
Lucky that my two bets won last night.
8Wins - 6Loses, my standings.
-
Games for tonight:
1st game:
Meralco Bolts vs Terrafirma Dyip
2nd game:
Rain or Shine vs Converge
I will only bet on the second game as my local bookies didn't cover the first game.
Meralco Bolts -4.5 @1.86 vs Dyip
-
Result from last night's game:
1st game:
Meralco - 86
Terrafirma Dyip - 83
2nd game:
Rain or Shine - 110
Converge - 90
Lost my bet as Meralco, though they won the game but failed to covered the spread, short of 2 points. Meralco even almost lost the game but thanks to Quinto's end game heroics as he managed to led the Bolts to victory.
8Wins - 7Loses, my standing thus far.
-
Games for tonight:
1st game:
TNT Tropang Giga vs NorthPort Batang Pier
2nd game:
Barangay Ginebra vs San Miguel Beermen
Tropang Giga -3.5 @1.87 vs NorthPort
Beermen -3.5 @1.89 vs Ginebra
Ginebra is undermanned so i think the Beermen will easily roll past them.
-
Games for tonight:
1st game:
SMB Beermen vs Terrafirma Dyip
2nd game:
Magnolia Hotshots vs NorthPort Batang Pier
My bets:
Dyip +11.5 @1.91 vs Beermen - Dyip's moral is definitely high right now after that upset win against Ginebra though i think that the Beermen would still win this game but i doubt they will cover the spread.
NorthPort ML @ 2.40 vs Magnolia - NorthPort is a team to beat right now in the PBA while Magnolia is having some problems, i think Batang Pier will hand another lose to Magnolia this evening.
8Wins - 9Loses, my standings right now.
-
Result from last night's game:
1st game:
SMB Beermen - 113
Terrafirma Dyip - 110
2nd game:
Magnolia - 104
NorthPort - 97
My prediction on the first game was bulls eye but not with the second game, it was competitive and close all through out the game but Magnolia has the breaks of the game with Ian Sanggalang leading the way.
9Wins - 10Losses, my standing thus far.
-
Games for tonight:
1st game:
ROS Elastopainters vs NorthPort Batang Pier
2nd game:
Magnolia Hotshots vs Blackwater Bossing
My bets:
NorthPort ML @2.14 vs ROS
Blackwater +10.5 @1.99 vs Magnolia
-
Result from last night's game:
1st game:
ROS - 115
NorthPort - 105
2nd game:
Magnolia - 81
NorthPort - 77
1-1 on last night's game. ROS did a good job on the end game and never allow NorthPort to come back. Belga was huge as he tallied his new career high in the PBA with that 28 points along with 13 rebounds.
10Wins - 11Losses, my standing thus far.
-
Games for tonight:
1st game:
SMB Beermen vs Converge Fiberxers
2nd game:
Ginebra Kings vs TNT Katropa
My bets:
Converge +14.5 @1.83 vs SMB - Though i think the Beermen would win this one but with the high spread, i don't think they could cover that one.
Ginebra Kings -1.5 @1.85 vs TNT - After that upset loss to the Dyip, the Kings is now on the roll and betting for them is the way to go.
-
Result from last night's game:
1st game:
SMB Beermen - 112
Converge - 103
2nd game:
Ginebra - 87
TNT - 84
Won my two bets last night. Fortunate that SMB was sloppy in the first half but that third quarter run was instrumental for win but betting wise, they didn't cover the spread.
12Wins - 11Losses, my standing thus far.
Modify message
-
Games for tonight:
1st game:
Meralco Bolts vs Converge Fiberxers
2nd game:
SMB Beermen vs NorthPort Batang Pier
My bets:
Converge +11.5 @1.83 vs Meralco
NorthPort +10.5 @1.85 vs SMB
Betting for both the underdogs here as i think the spread for both games are high that they can't cover the spread.
-
Result from Sunday night's game:
1st game:
Converge - 104
Meralco - 99
2nd game:
SMB - 120
NorthPort - 100
What an upset by Converge, should be x7 if i bet on Converge ML.
13Wins - 12Losses, my standing thus far.
-
Games for tonight:
1st game:
NorthPort Batang Pier vs Terrafirma Dyip
2nd game:
TNT Tropang Giga vs Phoenix Fuelmasters
My bets:
DYIP ML @2.92 vs NorthPort - This game is very winnable for the Dyip as both teams are bottom dwellers and the odds is very attractive for Terrafirma.
TNT -4.5 @1.91 vs Phoenix - This is a must win for the Katropa so betting for them is the way to go.
-
Result from Sunday night's game:
1st game:
Terrafirma - 110
NorthPort - 108
2nd game:
TNT - 108
Phoenix - 101
Won my two bets last night, bulls eye on the first game as the odds was somewhat bit almost x3. Luckily on the second game TNT came back from that huge deficit to win the game and cover the spread.
15Wins - 12Losses, my standing thus far.
-
Games for tonight:
1st game:
Meralco Bolts vs Phoenix Fuelmasters
2nd game:
SMB Beermen vs Magnolia Hotshots
My bets:
Bolts -5.5 @1.83 vs Phoenix - Fuelmaster's moral might be low for now after that meltdown in the second of that game against TNT.
SMB -4.5 @1.83 vs Magnolia - The Beermen is unbeaten and against Magnolia, i think that streak will not be broken.
-
Result from last night's game:
1st game:
Meralco - 82
Phoenix - 76
2nd game:
SMB - 98
Magnolia - 91
Hit my two bets once again last night, but it was a thrilling one in the first game as i thought Meralco won't cover.
17Wins - 12Losses, my standing thus far.
-
Games for tonight:
1st game:
Meralco Bolts vs Magnolia Hotshots
2nd game:
SMB Beermen vs NLEX Road Warriors
My bets:
Magnolia -5.5 @1.85 vs Meralco - I think the Hotshots will bounce back strong after their defeat on the hands of the Beermen.
SMB -9.5 @1.85 vs NLEX - still riding the hot Beermen, i think that spread is coverable.
-
Result from last night's game:
1st game:
Meralco - 74
Magnolia - 51
2nd game:
SMB - 120
NLEX - 103
The first game was a record breaker in terms of lowest scoring if i'm not mistaken, have not seen the game live so i can't elaborate more on what really transpired on that game and lost my bet on that game but fortunately for me i did win on my bet on the SMB vs NLEX game. Junemar Fajardo was unstoppable on that game, scoring 20 points while grabbing 21 rebounds.
18Wins - 13Losses, my standing thus far.
-
Games for tonight:
1st game:
SMB Beermen vs Blackwater Bossing
2nd game:
TNT Tropang Giga vs Converge Fiberxers
My bets:
Blackwater +10.5 @1.85 vs SMB - The Beermen are already assured of that twice-to-beat advantage so chances are that they will relax on this game.
Converge +14.5 @1.85 vs TNT - The spread is just too high so betting for the underdog is the way to go here.
-
Result from last night's game:
1st game:
SMB - 124
Blackwater - 109
2nd game:
Converge - 107
TNT - 103
SMB continues its winning streak and got the chance to sweep this conference if they win against Meralco this coming Saturday. The Beermen never relaxed but fortunately in the second game, Converge upset TNT that recovers my first game lose.
19Wins - 14Losses, my standing thus far.
-
Games for tonight:
1st game:
Magnolia Hotshots vs Terrafirma Dyip
2nd game:
NLEX Road Warriors vs ROS Elastopainters
My bets:
Magnolia -5.5 @1.83 vs Dyip - must win for both teams but will go for the Hotshots for tonight.
ROS -3.5 @1.85 vs NLEX - ROS is on the roll and i think their streak will continue tonight.
-
Result from last night's game:
1st game:
Magnolia - 108
Terrafirma - 100
2nd game:
ROS - 120
NLEX - 104
The two favorite teams won their respective games last night, ROS continued their winning streak and is now assured of a quarter-final slot, and the same with Magnolia.
21Wins - 14Losses, my standing thus far.
-
Games for tonight:
1st game:
Magnolia Hotshots vs TNT Tropang Giga
2nd game:
NLEX Road Warriors vs Ginebra Kings
My bets:
Magnolia -2.5 @1.85 vs TNT - Magnolia is on a little streak right now while TNT is on a losing skid.
Ginebra -5.5 @1.85 vs NLEX - Must win for Ginebra to solidify its twice-to-beat advantage in the quarter-finals.
-
Result from last night's game:
1st game:
TNT - 98
Magnolia - 93
2nd game:
NLEX - 76
Ginebra - 72
Contrary to Friday night's game where the winner were all the favorites, last night was different as the two underdog teams from MVP group won their respective games.
21Wins - 16Losses, my standing thus far.
-
Game for tonight:
NorthPort Batang Pier vs Terrafirma Dyip
My bet:
Terrafirma ML @2.34 vs NorthPort - must win for both teams as the winner will face the SMB Beermen in the quarters.
-
Result from last night's game:
1st game:
Terrafirma - 104
NorthPort - 96
With the win last night, Terrafirma Dyip earns the right to face the mighty Beermen in the quarter-finals of this All-Filipino Cup conference. It would be tough hill to climb for them as beating the Beermen is a slim possibility.
22Wins - 16Losses, my standing thus far.
-
Quarterfinals games for tonight:
1st game:
NLEX Road Warriors vs Meralco Bolts
2nd game:
ROS Elastopainters vs TNT Tropang Giga
My bets:
NLEX ML @2.22 vs Meralco - these two teams are unpredictable but i like the chance of NLEX here because of Robert Bolick back in the roster.
ROS -1.5 @2.06 vs TNT - TNT is undermanned while ROS is on a tear lately so i'll go for the favorite to win the game tonight.
-
Result from last night's game:
1st game:
Meralco - 97
NLEX - 93
2nd game:
TNT - 116
ROS - 99
NLEX fell short on defeating Meralco as Robert Bolick run out of gas in the final minutes of the game while TNT blew out the gutsy Elastopainters and my two bets lost.
22Wins - 18Losses, my standing thus far.
-
Quarterfinals games for tonight:
1st game:
ROS Elastopainters vs TNT Tropang Giga
2nd game:
NLEX Road Warriors vs Meralco Bolts
My bets:
TNT ML @1.89 vs ROS - will only bet for the first game as the second game is hard to predict for me. TNT blew out ROS in their last game so i think they will still beat ROS tonight no matter what the adjustment ROS will make.
-
Result from last night's game:
1st game:
ROS - 121
TNT - 113
2nd game:
Meralco - 100
NLEX - 81
Lost my bet as ROS defeated TNT in a very close game. Fortunate for ROS that their shot were falling at the dying minutes of the game.
22Wins - 19Losses, my standing thus far.
-
Quarterfinals games for tonight:
1st game:
SMB Beermen vs Terrafirma Dyip
2nd game:
ROS Elastopainters vs TNT Katropa
My bets:
Terrafirma +10.5 @1.87 vs Beermen - I think the Beermen win but will cover the spread, the pressure is on the Beermen tonight.
ROS ML @2.06 vs TNT - Like i said on the other forum, ROS is the hungrier team and might win this do-or-die game tonight.
-
Result from last night's game:
1st game:
SMB - 110
Terrafirma - 91
2nd game:
ROS - 110
TNT - 109
Junemar Fajardo exploded in the second half of their game against the Terrafirma Dyip, giving them a comfortable lead while the Beermen always had an answer for every basket the Dyip made. On the second game, it was a thrilling one with ROS winning by a point over the Tropang Giga.

Result from last night's game:
1st game:
SMB - 101
ROS - 98
2nd game:
Ginebra - 92
Meralco - 88
Didn't bet for those games last because i was observing how the matchups fare against each other. Though SMB won but i didn't cover the spread as it was a close one while Ginebra covered a slim spread. On game 2 i would bet on the underdogs as both team got a chance to win or at least cover the spread.

1-1 on my bets last night, won on the first game but lost on the second game. June Mar Fajardo imposes his will on the Elastopainters and there is no one who could stop in the paint if there is no double.
24Wins - 21Losses, my standing thus far.
