Steem has hit the below a dollar value today while Steem Dollars is at 1.02$. The last time Steem value was this low was November last year. A lot of Steemit users are now buying Steem. Remember what happened last year December? Steem Dollars and Steem value went up to 7$ and 13$ respectively.
Currently, Steem Dollars is not anymore included in the payout. Are you purchasing Steem through your SBD or are you buying from fiat?

I miss those old days, when steem and steem dollars were more than 8 dollars.
Now they aren't worth much. I don't buy steem, try to earn some in steemit.

The benefit of Steem Dollars is that business can accept them more comfortably since they have a more stable value. Can you imagine being a shop owner and trying to sell your $50 product for STEEM which a couple months ago would have been for 500 Steem compared to today being less than 50. Pricing their products and services are much easier when using a stable value, as well as knowing that what they've already been paid, won't lose value.

steem is a very dagus coin and the price is very high even though the price is currently down, but I still strongly believe in high steem prices later, and I bought steem through SBD.
