Do you always invest in top ranked coins?

only for a few, the top 10 is the best option.
but you can also buy altcoins that have a value under one dollar, yes with full calculation, research and analysis of course.

As advised I am trying to learn the basics of crypto first.
Most of the suggestions mention investing in top ranked coins. My question is, does it always work? As far as I understand, the market is vulnerable and affects almost all the coins from top to bottom. How then you determine which ones would stay ?

Not all the time. Because they have coins who are not in top are good to put your money.
Jusy make sure that you make some research to know what is that coin because they have a lot of coun that not good to invest.

Buying always top coins is not my criteria to invest but we can say if we buy top coin we have less risk of loosing but apart from top coins there are some new good coins as well that can be considered to buy to get more ROI as compare to top ranked coins. I always look for low supply coins with good volume as well good supporting community behind because I feel low supply coins has more chances to rise.

do not always invest in the top 10 coins. Also, after a profound study, I invest in a ICO Token that gives me a small amount of profit.
