EOSIO Labs™ Release: The Assert Manifest Security Model.

Block. One recently explained new concepts for EOSIO Labs, regarding the increase in user confidence when signing transactions on blockchain applications. EOSIO Labs is a new initiative through which Block. One's innovations and discoveries will be shared with all developers. In this way, the community will be free to get their hands on these open source repositories and release their own products.

In their latest article they expanded on the ideas of EOSIO Manifests, Assert Contracts, and the Security Model.

• EOSIO Manifests: help validate the source of the application, answering the “who do you legitimately represent?” question.
• Assert Contract:  provides assurance that the transactions being posted by the application are legitimate by validating transaction contents.
• Security Model: The EOSIO Manifest and the Assert Contract work together with conforming authenticators that have the ability to display the Ricardian contracts to solve the who and what problems

Benefits:
"Enables trusted authenticators to be excellent custodians of users’ private keys and remain clearly delineated from application-specific actions while still enforcing a security model that provides additional assurances to the end user."

The Missing Piece to the EOS Incentive Model: A Proposal for Voter Incentivization Through Staking Rewards.

"Inflation is a tool which underpins the EOS incentive model. Currently, this incentive model only prioritizes Block Producers who are obviously vital for maintaining the blockchain. But the overall incentive model is still incomplete.

Voting is also a critical component of EOS. It is required to secure the network and choose block producers, but token-holders are incentivized to do neither. EOS New York proposes a dynamic staking reward to incentivize token-holders to vote in order to complete the EOS incentive model and help ensure its long-term health."

EOSIO™ Software Release: Native SDKs for Swift and Java.

Block. One released two new open source tools for EOSIO developments: native SDKs for Swift and Java, which aim to provide better support for native mobile applications built on EOSIO. These Software Development Kits (SDKs) provide native APIs for interacting with EOSIO blockchains, and by targeting both Java and Swift they will be available on Android and iOS.

"The core EOSIO SDK for Swift and EOSIO SDK for Java libraries are responsible for facilitating the transaction lifecycle. They provide developers with easy and idiomatic ways of creating and working with transactions, collecting the necessary signatures, and preparing and broadcasting those transactions to EOSIO nodes."

Within the core libraries, they released 3 signature providers:
 - Swift SDK, Vault Signature Provider
 - Swift SDK, Softkey Signature Provider
 - Java SDK, Softkey Signature Provider

The most notable between these three is the Vault Signature Provider, which allows for signing transactions using keys stored in Keychain or the device's Secure Enclave.

Block. One announced a new released for EOSIO Labs: EOSIO Explorer. EOSIO Explorer is a new web-based graphical user interface to improve the developer experience of interacting and monitoring EOSIO-based applications and networks in development. This tool helps developers reduce EOSIO app development time through a number of ways and makes EOSIO smart contract development more accessible.

Important: EOSIO Explorer is designed specifically to be a tool for local development. Therefore, numerous things must be kept in mind:

  1. Wallet keys used for this tool may be compromised if your machine is not properly secure. Keys for live wallets should not be used in EOSIO Explorer as the tool does not include appropriate security measures.
2 .The tool is not compatible with the EOSIO Mainnet or other public EOSIO-based blockchains
  3. Tools that do not match the versions listed in required tools or OSes not listed in the platform support list may cause issues

Configurable inflation to eosio.system contract.

The EOS Argentina team made a pull request to the eosio repository to have the token inflation rate set as a parameter. This update allows Block Producers to easily change the inflation rate without replacing the System Contract and hard code a different percentage. This is very useful for every EOSIO chain that would like to test different inflation rates.

The pull request has already been merged in the eosio repository by B1 and EOS Argentina already plan to propose it and test it on Kylin.

Greymass Wallet is now "Anchor", first beta version released.

The Greymass team released the first beta version of their newest wallet: Anchor. Anchor is based over the previous Greymass eos-voter tool, but with an improved interface and a lot of new features.

This first version, v0.9.0, is mainly used to start collecting feedback, discovering bugs, and allow developers to start integrating with a new signing protocol. It is already available on Github as a pre-release and it will not overwrite or interact with the previous eos-voter installation.

New features:
 - Redesigned User Interface with a new wallet backend
 - New “Account Overview” screen
 - New transaction signing protocol for app/dApp integration
 - Simplified setup process to configure multiple blockchains

Of course yes EOS is good alternatives coins for investment now, it is one of many potential of alternatives coins in the future because EOS blockchain can be used for decentralize application dapps for the community and the other reason EOS is faster than another blockchain are like ethereum blockchain and other cryptocurrencies we can see more about it on here http://blocktivity.info/ and you can check another blockchain too

EOS42 proposed a referendum to replace the regproducer contract.

The EOS42 team proposed a referendum to replace the existing articles of regproducer with what they believe will unite the community in common interests, and bridge philosophical divides. The reproducer contract is the contract used to register a Block Producer candidate.

The EOS community can already vote for the new articles of reproducer through a referendum: https://eostitan.com/poll/regproducer1

The following articles will be replaced:
 1. The intent of regproducer
 2. Nomination
 3. Resignation and Removal for Inability to Perform Obligations.
 4. EOS Accounts
 5. Producer Key
 6. API Endpoints
 7. Execution time
 8. Ordering
 9. Random Rotation of Standbys
 10. Missing Two or More Rounds of Blocks
 11. Urgent Security Patches
 12. Disclosure of Entity and Server Information
 13. Establishes the penalty for unwillingness to comply with penalties

The WordProof Timestamp plugin is now available in the WordPress plugin repo.

The WordProof team recently added their Timestamp plugin to the Wordpress plugin repo. WordProof Timestamp is a new free plugin that bridges the WordPress and blockchain communities in an approachable, user-friendly way.

It gives users the ability to timestamp their posts and pages to demonstrate transparency and claim ownership of content. WordProof works with any EOSIO blockchain to create the timestamp and provides a custom certificate link with a frontend pop-up to display it.

“In five years from now, if you don’t timestamp your articles on the blockchain, you’re going to be considered a fraud.” – Brendan Blumer

EOSIO Labs Release: WebAuthn Example Web App for EOSIO YubiKey Support.

After the EOSIO 2 updates announced at B1June, Block. One released a a WebAuthn Example App to demonstrate how they intend to implement WebAuthn support for EOSIO.

"WebAuthn is a new World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) standard accepted and pioneered globally by many major technology companies like Yubico, Google, and Microsoft, that enables secure authentication supported by all leading browsers and platforms."

via WebAuthn, users will have many more options to sign their transactions on the EOSIO blockchain. Indeed, it will be possible to use the newly announced EOSIO YubiKey and built-in platform authenticators like fingerprint sensors and other biometrics.

About the EOSIO YubiKey:
"Block.one and Yubico have partnered to offer hardware keys capable of securely and seamlessly signing transactions on EOSIO. This allows you to use a YubiKey for authentication and simply touch the device to sign a transaction. Because EOSIO 2.0+ supports signing transactions via the Web Authentication (WebAuthn) API supported by Chrome, Firefox, Edge and Safari, there’s no longer a need for browser plugins or external authenticator programs to use EOSIO based blockchain applications. EOSIO branded YubiKeys will be available soon."
