I'm also relatively new to the crypto sphere and was just recently researching what I can buy this December and set aside for longer. Anyway, I found a few possible options for me: SOL and DOT.

Both of these currencies have shown tremendous growth over the previous period. For example, for SOL increase of 26,500% happened during 2021. DOT has a pretty similar situation - since September the price of DOT rose from $2.93 up to $38.6. I think they will continue their growth, because they are quite large projects and they are now actively developing.

I have not decided yet what coin to buy and what coin to hold till 2023. Because I have different planning than other people. Suppose I am a short term trader and as a short term trader, I will always prefer to buy a coin that has potential short term gaining with highest profit. If a coin can give me 2x profit within short time, I wil go for the coin for sure rather than goes for a coin that will ensure the profit within years or something like that.

Metavers is big talk of the internet now days but still it is not going to last for too long. Get something more stable if you want to go as far as 2023. I highly recommend you to study your self the market and different coins yourself and then decide it yourself.

These are definitely not new tokens. And I don 't trust the metaverse yet .Something from the verified ones. Bnb for example or litecoin.
Why? Because these are proven coins and I trust them

Actually it depends on the person that is he or she can hold it for such a long time or is unable to hold it. I think that holding a coin is good if you can wait for long time. Recently i have hold DOT and SOL so i decide to hold them for some year and i believe that it will give me great profit.
