The link show 404 error. and Trump doesnt look like he supported BTC back then so it would be surprising to see him endorse it. Interestingly if he does the more BTC will be a tool for politics seeing how popular BTC these days due to it being promoted as hedge in this kind of economy.

Trumo for the win!

Trump doesn't look like he supported BTC back then so it would be surprising to see him endorse it. Interestingly if he does the more BTC will be a tool for politics seeing how popular BTC these days due to it being promoted as hedge in this kind of economy. Trump for the win!

Trump has softened his stance on Bitcoin and cryptocurrency all because he has experienced already its power and benefits. I think he also launched his own NFT collection back then and also that of his beautiful wife Melania Trump...and just recently the gold sneakers collection which is a big hit. So he has now a personal knowledge of the potential of cryptocurrency and that is why we hear of this CNBC interview. So in cases Trump will eventually win the presidential November election, we can expect a much better treatment of cryptocurrency and all related concerns including mining from the White House. In fact, I would say that the current administration, as swayed by the leftists in Biden's circle, is not really that friendly to our industry. A Trump win will be a big win for the whole crypto industry, I would suggest.

I'm remain skeptical whether Trump intend to fulfill his promise or actually can fulfill it due to resistance from other politician and government board.

The link works fine for me. It's possible you saw that 404 error because you use certain VPN or Tor connection, where Bitcoin.com probably do that due to security reason.

Even if Trump did not say that, we all know that before. Bitcoin is money, a digital currency and an asset. That has been the reason people that were sceptical about bitcoin later accepting this fact. Although, to define bitcoin as a currency is hard because it is digital but so far it is money, it is a digital currency. We do not need Trump to say that, he cares more about winning the coming election.

If I'm not mistaken, he could have accepted bitcoin or any crypto for that matter as a donation for his campaign funds.

But if you read that articles, he says that he is traditionalist and still wanted for the US dollar to dominate. So that's our answer there, he might support crypto in any shape or form, but I don't think that he will legalized it just like what Bukele did.

So if ever he will become President in the future, the US will be in the gray area.

I do not trust politicians and what they say, Trump might sound like this now that the election is scheduled for later this year, because what he said may be interesting to voters who are bitcoiners and that could influence their votes. However, it is true that BTC is alternative money and so it is fungible, we do not need Trump to tell us that, and only if or when he is elected president will we find out what he truly thinks about BTC.

Trump is a politician with populist rhetoric... If cryptocurrencies contradict his country's economic policies, he can ban cryptocurrencies immediately; if cryptocurrencies contribute to his country's prosperity, he can be more accommodating towards cryptocurrencies... I don't underestimate populist politics. Machiavellian thinking is an important part of politics. Therefore, for me, Trump's statement is a variable that does not go beyond emphasizing a period in time...

Since he's benefiting, it's expected that he's going to say something good about crypto. Maybe another factor why he seems friendly is that he's a civilian right now but once he returns to office, he might change his tune. The best he could do is to remain neutral.

He's trying to look good for the supporters of Cryptocurrency because there is news that he is a candidate again and he will be pitted against Joe Biden again, now that's going to be an interesting match-up. if he can rally the Cryptocurrency supporters he'll have a chance to win the presidency again.

I heard this news before and wrote a topic about it. Of course, the news seems good in general that Trump will change his hostile stance towards Bitcoin, since when he was president at that time, Trump not only denounced Bitcoin, but also described it as a fraudulent process, and ordered the Secretary of the Treasury to “go after Bitcoin.” .

Politicians change according to political interests, so I am not surprised that Trump, who seeks to win the upcoming presidential elections by winning the largest number of voters’ votes, I hope he has actually changed his position on Bitcoin because it will have a positive impact in the long run.

that's what they are saying because Trump is doing this wisely. he is aiming to get more votes from the crypto community which could likely make a huge margin if all vote for him.

so he is testing this issue to his side and he could go all in soon after seeing the news spreads wider. but we can already see he is winning against Biden. there seem to be more people favoring him than Biden in this coming election and his lawsuits are dropped too.

That can be Trump's position before he realized the benefits of cryptocurrency and NFT to his personal finances. Right now, I think he is holding some ETH, if am not mistaken, though not on the quantity many millionaires are into. Trump was then looking at Bitcoin as a factor that can weaken the dollar or just be a part of the dedollarization movement...but he has changed his mind as there are really those in his own Republican party that are supporting cryptocurrency and mining too. Now, it is good to note that even if Trump made some "not so good remarks" on Bitcoin and cryptocurrency in his previous stint in the White House, nothing concrete was made that affected Bitcoin negatively...it is actually the administration of Biden that made some moves to curtail the growth of Bitcoin thru SEC...had it not been for the court we would not have ETFs today. So if I given the chance to choose between the two old men, I would go for Trump...as Joe is definitely now suffering from dementia and walks, acts like a robotic figure a big symptom that physically and mentally he is already done.

Donald Trump Calls BTC 'an Additional Form of Currency' — Says 'I Sometimes Will Let People Pay Through Bitcoin'

Former U.S. President Donald Trump says bitcoin is an “additional form of currency,” emphasizing that the crypto has taken on a life of its own. He also lets people pay for his merchandise with cryptocurrencies... See more for yourself here.

Your opinion is greatly appreciated.
Actually, I have read several of Trump's statements about crypto before this one too. But I'm too lazy to open the history of the news I read. Trump is very smart. He knows that currently young people have great interest and involvement in crypto. And it has become a trend that cannot be avoided even in the world of finance. Especially in the digital world. So it would be very natural if he started supporting bitcoin too. Indirectly, I think this is quite good news. +1

That can be Trump's position before he realized the benefits of cryptocurrency and NFT to his personal finances. There is no doubt that Trump's economic policy is much better than Biden's. Trump is basically a great businessman and economist and has his own vision and ways of obtaining new resources.

It is possible, as you mentioned, that he changed his mind after he saw the great benefits that the American economy obtains from cryptocurrencies and ETFs. I really hope that he has changed his mind because if he wins, it will have a major positive impact on Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies through the laws that Creates a more open work environment.
