It depends on what you consider better. High risk/high reward? Bitcoin, followed closely by ehterium in the risk category, but less volatile, so you probably won't see a $5k hike like we saw with Bitcoins today. Another thing to consider with any crypto currency is, your wallet, escrows, even the very same companies issuing the currencies, are susceptible to hacks. Everything can literally be gone in an instant.
Gold is a whole different ball game. It's government regulated in some sense, and the US backs and values it's currency in relation gold. The price has risen fairly reliably, and should continue to do so until something causes it to become worthless. Will it ever jump in value the way Bitcoin has? Probably not. Can I be certain saying it will always be valuable ? No. But I'd predict a crypto currency crash FAR before a collapse of golf prices.
