Title: Doge & POW
Post by: Evgenklm on September 26, 2022, 09:46:43 AM
The Doge coin became the second most capitalized POW consensus coin after the migration of ETH to POS ... this makes it possible for many miners to switch to mining this coin.Whether it's good or bad, we'll find out in time. What do you think?

I don't think dogecoin  is centralized on Pow mining, it remain like Bitcoin POW mining. Ethereum has also launched the POW network besides the POS networks, at least, to give back to those that still needed POW ecosystem.
Dogecoin has been on the POW ecosystem since it was launched in 2013 and the only drawback, in my opinion, is dogecoin unlimited supply.

In general I think that the time of Proof-of-Work coin is coming to an end slowly but surely. Bitcoin will of course be an exception from that because I highly doubt, that they will also move to proof of stake in the future because bitcoin mining is just way to big of a business I think with mining farms in China having invested millions and millions of dollars into mining gear.
New projects though will probably not choose proof of work anymore as their consensus mechanism as it is just not fitting in todays mentality where the protection of the environment and the climate change are such big topics in the media.
