Unfortunately, 95% (or more) of the new projects that appear are copies of previous products that have been successful in the industry, and their goal is to raise funds to "maybe" improve the original product, which almost never happens and those funds finally "run out", nothing more. There are really few innovative projects in the industry, and those projects are the ones we need to pay attention to, the rest will die alone on the way.

In my own opinion, most of these new projects are just making their claim for the money. This is the biggest reasons why of the many only a few will eventually survive, flourish and really make it big. We have already a saturation of projects that are not offering anything new and just making a copy of other projects. They are just wishing that the lady of luck will smile good on their good projects, and they can somehow make it big eventually. I am pitying those people who are taking the chance to support them with hard-earned money. Anyway, the essence of an open enterprise system is that anybody can do the same thing as others did. And so we have so many wannabees.

It is the clear evidence that there are more things to discover and more to scam. What scam? You heard it right. As what @Freemind said, 95% are copied from one unique platform. Some of the copycat project intentionally for scam. Some could challenge the original one.
