EOS is still the way it used to be and still has the basis to compete with Ethereum and Ripple.
For the problem of specifics, it is certain that this will be a fierce battle because EOS also has an Operating System, Smartcontracts, many communities, lots of pair trading, etc.

I am not surprised by this because this is indeed the case that EOS should be in the top 10 of Coinmarketcap.

Mate, it needs something special if altcoins have to go back to the top 10 Coinmarketcap because the top 10 is very difficult to achieve for altcoins whose development is slow.
But for EOS I have seen it at number 9 Coinmarketcap and this proves that EOS has a fast development for its coins.
