How are lost account recovered here

I'm curious how individuals that lost access to their account recovered it and what was the evidence to back their claim.
Been and still in a situation where I forgot my password for my BTT and the email and just recently found out that there's a thread where one can stake addresses in case of such occurrence. I'm curious how Altcointalk run its own.

one thing that has worked well in another forum is to stack any cryptocurrency address
I'll give you an example
if I write my btc address in a thread
bc11111
and someone quotes it, this is carved in rock

if by chance a bad hacker steals my account, I send an email to the admin and tell him
dear admin I'm really babo, this is the staked address in the xxx thread and this is the message signed with that address
admin recovers my account

end

nice idea, also can be implement no problem. I will make a section that is not visible to guests or below member rank , where you can stak addresses

Maybe better to send this thread in General chat so the Admin and the other concern parties will take a look and may be answered completely and clearly .

but what I do believe is Admin can directly give you answers in PM because our Admin here is generously replying in case there are important matter we need to discuss or need an answer.

In general, if you lose access to your account here, there are several ways to recover the account:


 - Restore your account by email.
- - Restore your account with the answer to Secret Question (I don't recommend it)
- - Most likely you can access the BTT account and then you can easily address Admin to restore your account.


If you are not able to reach the BTT, Secret Question, or Email, it will be difficult to restore the account.

That's sad that you lost access to your BTT account, BTW what's the progress, are you getting at something or not? If not then I hope you will get access to your BTT account soon. Besides we should really need to discuss this topic, as email verification should not be the only way for a member to recover his or her account, but on BTT the mods and the people responsible to give you your access back are late and delay things.

But here on this platform, I think we won't be facing such a problem because the admins here are more active and they listen to your point and respond on time. But this might change as when more members will be using this platform, admin won't be able to reply them all so besides the email verification this staking or singing the address is better option.

Forgetting passwords and its recovery is much easier here compared to bitcointalk, it's like how normal websites works — Forget password. But forgetting your email is a different story, how could you forgot such thing. If that's the case it is really hard to recover even in other websites too.

This is not something that is created by admin, this is just a member initiative.
In bitcointalk forum users are staking bitcoin addresses as a way to prove ownership of signed address and associated forum account.
This is used for last few years in bitcointalk but admins here need to approve it and set some basic rules.

Forgetting passwords and its recovery is much easier here compared to bitcointalk, it's like how normal websites works — Forget password. But forgetting your email is a different story, how could you forgot such thing. If that's the case it is really hard to recover even in other websites too.

Even if you remember email address there is always a chance of provider shutting down their service or having long term downtime.
We should have some alternative option for changing email address if we lost access to it.
