what is a safe wallet for storing ethereum after getting paid from ICO?
-
Im using My Ethereum Wallet. Its simple but gets all my transactions done. But I think for full security, hardware wallet is still the way to go.

is it necessary to install metamask?

You can use blockchain wallet
-
the safest purse is hardware. it costs from $ 70 and above. but your currency will be protected. :)

If you wont store 1K ETH, I recommend MyEtherWallet...
You can also store other ethereum beverages coins in it and user friendly.

I recommend myethereumwallet! be careful of those phisings though, be smart ;D
-
i suggest (MEW) MYETHERWALLET
-
Myethereum wallet is a safe. Provide multiple safe ways to login and storing coins.
Dont lose your private keys and dont reveal them to anyone.
It can be a bit confusing initially about transferring ether and how much gas price to choose. but there are small and good articles out there tht you can read.

Hardware wallets are very safe to store crypto currencies. They are easy to use and even if you lose it you can restore your balance using the seed word.
-
For safety purpose you can use metamsk which secure your Ethereum wallet.
-
Metamask quite makes your stuff secured, but the issue of it generating many ethereum accounts that comes along with different private keys makes me sick. 8) 8)
-
MyEtherWallet is OK. Just keep your security codes safe and you're safe
-
I think the MEW is the safeties Wallet
-
you can use My Ethereum Wallet. it's safe and trusted.
-
MyEtheriumWallet.. seems to be ++most used.
Use link within to https://ethplorer.io/ to see details about Tokens (MyEtherWallet often doesn't show them automatically)

i think myetherwallet is the best, you can check your coin with ethplorer.io or etherscan.io
-
I am using myetherwallet and blockchain its good and safe even you can use metamask recently i installed Eidoo app its looking good for holdin all my ethereum based token even i am storing very small amount in this .
-
as always Myetherwallet is the best for Ethereum but make sure that you are on the right site and not a phishing site for MEW.
-
I use exodus. allot of people don't recommend it because it sends the backup to your email account.
But it seems to be a fine wallet.
-
I use MEW or the Metamask extension for chrome. I'm super annoyed with jax and I will never recommend this software.
-
be the best .myetherwallet . I like him very much.
-
You could check out Eidoo wallet too. It has an app for your mobile. It's definitely one of the best.

No there is no need to use Metamask when using MEW. I will recommend to start using Metamask and get familiar with because this is a really handy tool if you want to interact with etherum infrastructure.
-
I will recommend making account, using some of the test nets of ethereum (like ropsten). You can do that in MEW or with metamask. You can get 2-3 ETHt from faucet and just transfer them between accounts to get used to process.

MyEtherWallet...
-
myetherwallet is the best and you can use coinbase . this two platform are widely used
-
I use myetherwallet and exodus (I like because has more coins like BTC, ETC, ETH, BTG, BCC)
-
The answer is not far-fetched, it's MEW-myetherwallet, but when using this, someone needs to be very careful not to ignorantly divulge his or her private key.
