I have received the above personal message from the user abu with marketing of an ICO. It's annoying like hanging on Facebook. My question is: Is that acceptable if not then report to mod is appropriate ?

Update: I see there are not report feature for this kind of activities too. What to do? Any suggestion?

Hmm.I hadn't experienced anything similar as of now. But this really seems to be annoying. And I feel that a report feature should be added to PMs as well.

Report button should be added to the message feature and we should have the option in the settings to not allow messages from new users.

Fortunately, I have not received such spam yet, but as I know, these are the beginnings and we must act to not give spammers any chance to develop a working spamming strategy.

To me this is simply harmless as it seem, unless you invest and get scammed but then if you find this offensive call to the attention of the sender and request to not be sent such message anymore or simply ignore the message. But if the sender continue to bug you with such messages you just report them after several warning.
However if you want people to invest in your ICO why do it private when you can get larger audience on this prestigious forum with little cost.
SO MATE BE CAREFUL.

Not sure it's harmless, it's annoying that's for sure. I had this with one user before, I said go away, they continued bugging me. I gave them bad karma (and told them why), they still persisted even as I continued punishing. I PM'd our reliable admin and in the end and it was dealt with, unsurprisingly I wasn't the only one receiving these messages either. Therefore I agree, a report button for PM is necessary. As also 1 message to 1 user is likely to be dozens messages to dozens of users. The higher the rank, the more likely you will be spammed it seems. It also just takes the p***, there are forums here designed for spamming crap projects and potential scams. They can just use these like everyone else! In summary, no this isn't acceptable, it's intolerable and insulting.

Of course it isn't allowed and to some extent offensive. This is obvious spam and I don't want to be spammed, especially from new accounts. If user with high rank wants to share with me his findings because he is on my buddy list then this is a different story and I have nothing against but big no to spam from newbies.

This one for sure is not harmful. I consider myself a fairly advanced user when it comes to online applications. I can identify phishing links before I click it. But there are user who are not tech savvy and they can be trapped easily. We really need a report button for PM.
