Beside the hardware wallet that the other member has mentioned, another generally safer approach is to use metamask on top of MEW wallet.

Why is it so?
When you use metamask, you can keying in the password in the metamask, you will no longer need to key in anything on the website. So this already put a layer of security for you that if the website is hacked, they will not be able to access your details as they did not receive any input.

2ndly, the passowrd you used will be only applicable for your own usage. That means, for example, i can even tell you my metamask password, you cant access to my wallet by just typing in my password in your laptop/computer. You will need both the json file and the password to make it work. So even if there are key-logger in your computer or MEW is hacked, stealing the password still give you another layer of protection.

However, i also want to stress that despite metamask is quite a good way to protect you, it would not be as safe as hardware wallet. They are still the safest but it need the physical device in order to access.

If you have quite a large sum of crypto funds, it is usually highly recommended to have hardware wallet to protect your fund. I do know of a friend who lost like $22k usd because of the MEW issue.

I think MEW can not be hacked ,  then if we still want to use MEW we should maximize all security tools available, there are many like MetaMask / Mist, Ledger Wallet, TREZOR, Digital Bitbox, Secalot, Keystore / JSON File, Mnemonic Phrase, do not just Private Key.

Just read all the warning given by myetherwallet.com and you're good to go. This person might be a victim of phishing. That user was hacked through Google DNS. Maybe he is using public proxies

Oh this is scaring! Is it enouch protection to have double password (one like usualy and other genereted by spacial application each time I want to log in) like I have on www.coindeal.com?

Most hacking cases are caused by public DNS, many ways to protect our transactions on MEW. Even though not many people apply the security of an internet connection, they don't even know the crime that is peering at them. Indeed using a hardware wallet is quite safe, but if the wallet is damaged the system will make it worse.
If you are afraid of losing your MEW, you must divide your digital assets into several MEW wallets and use metamask or imtoken for your transactions. maybe it can help simpler.

This proves that the wallet we have can still be hijacked by irresponsible people and only wants to get things in a bad way. For that we must always keep our wallets and do not store tokens with a lot of value in the wallet. Immediately sell if you get profit and save it in our bank account.

Thanks for the information but it's wise staying safe with hardware wallets ,they are more secured,by the way the year is ending a lot of hacking will raise up again so getting a hardware wallet is important now.
