Well, that's right, don't link many sites; for the main wallet, even if you participate in an airdrop or bounty, you will usually be advised to use a special or new wallet so that assets are properly protected from hacking.
Wallet security starts with yourself. In fact, we can't blame other people or existing sites, we only have to be careful when linking our wallets.
New crypto users are usually not that careful about using wallets, so they end up using their main account on all websites. And hackers take advantage of this, creating various fake airdrop websites and enticing new crypto users to participate in the airdrop with various tempting offers, so that the hackers can gain access to the wallet. A crypto user must first be aware of how to keep his/her wallet safe, otherwise that crypto user has to end his/her crypto journey by becoming a victim of hackers in a very bad way.

The main problem for every new user is always looking for safety by using one wallet and that is the main wallet.
When he participate in any program, that wallet will be sent, so it is very possible that at some point there will be a new program that is actually misleading, so the wallet provided will easily be hacked. But actually, it would be a very good lesson for him to remember that don't carelessly give or place your main wallet in any program that you don't trust, especially for airdrops which are often misused.

Just sending an address for the purpose of participating in a campaign or airdrop is not a big problem, because from the address alone it is not easy for hackers to track the private key or seed phrase... but what becomes a big problem is when the main wallet is connected to a third party application which will actually making the security of the private key or seed phrase very vulnerable...

I can't recommend using a main wallet (with a large balance) to participate in campaigns or daily needs... as long as creating a wallet is easy and free, it's a good idea to create more than one for security and privacy purposes.

To avoid unwanted things, it's better to use another wallet to participate in airdrops, testnets and the like. To avoid something we don't want. It's certainly better. Avoidance is the best way, rather than regret later because of the lack of understanding experienced by the beginner.
There are many ways that can be misleading and there is no harm in not revealing the main wallet. At least there is an additional wallet that beginners can prepare for the event they want to take part in, because there can always be mistakes made by beginners themselves.
Even though it is true that it is not easy to hack a wallet because of good security, it is important to avoid mistakes made by beginners because fraudsters are clever enough to trick them in many ways.

Another good way of storing seed words safe and offline is by encrypting them, and it's very easy to do that with open source products like Seedkeeper.
Seedkeepr cards are made by Satochip, they have open source code, and they are good way to store multiple seed phrases in card format.
You can even make your own DIY card with custom design at your home and just flash the code.

We should keep the private information of your wallet safe in a few steps. If we want to keep the private information of our wallet safe online then we need to ensure a safe place where hackers can not access our wallet by keeping the private information of our wallet. Apart from keeping the personal information of your wallet online, we have to keep that information in a safe place by noting it in our offline account. It should be kept in a place so that no one but me knows about my wallet personal information. If we are careful to protect the personal information of our wallet then surely our wallet will be safe.

Yes, for me would love to do a DIY backup for my seeds phrases.

Currently though my setup is having it in a safe deposit box at home. I bought some at cheap price from a friend of mind of sold it in the secondary market. So sometimes I will be there if there will be new arrivals and then I will chose my boxes I want and I have him and his workers repaint everything for me and do the reset, it's old school boxes not like the new model which is digital.

But now I looking as how to DIY as other options for me.
