Ask a Moderator / Moving the topic to the wrong board ?
« on: Today at 12:09:54 PM »
So, initially, I opened a topic Vitalik Buterin Donates 30 ETH to Support Tornado Cash Devs in the Bitcoin discussion board.
TornadoCash is a bitcoin service, and everything related to this case is most directly related to the Bitcoin ecosystem, and only then indirectly to all other cryptocurrencies. Ethereum is even the least important in the whole case.

Now I see that moderator TomPluz has moved this discussion to the Ethereum board https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?topic=321739.msg1565162#msg1565162

So, I have a few questions for other mods and TomPluz
- To all, Is the discussion about the Bitcoin service suitable for the Ethereum board only because it is a donation in ETH?

- To TomPluz, Are you even familiar with what this case is about? Based on your comment left in the thread, I would say that you are not.
- If not, why did you write a completely irrelevant comment there?
- Finally, if you can briefly explain how you concluded that it is about Ethereum things?

20 days ago, Tornado Cash developer Alexey Pertsev has been found guilty of laundering $1.2 billion. It's a bit crazy to punish a developer for developing the code.

Now Vitalik Buterin got involved with a donation (I guess he won't be accused either). I wonder if, by including more influential names, the pressure on all actors participating in the development of anonymization can be alleviated a little.

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin donated 30 ETH, valued at around $113,000, to support the legal defense of Tornado Cash developers Alexey Pertsev and Roman Storm through the decentralized fundraising platform Juicebox.

Forum related / ✅ Stake your Bitcoin address
« on: May 31, 2024, 02:09:15 AM »
To convey the good things here as well. I don't know what the practice has been until now when it comes to the recovery of forum accounts here, I've only seen a few such requests.
Staking a Bitcoin address here can help a lot in the case of the need to prove the ownership of an account.

So it is necessary to leave a signed message here from an address to which have access. It is also necessary that any other member verify the message and confirm with a quote.
some ideal message formats:

username
purpose (Altcoinstalks)
address (it does not have to be an address that is actively used, but it is important that it is an address that is always accessed)
date

I'll start here:

Code: [Select]
-----BEGIN BITCOIN SIGNED MESSAGE-----
I am examplens from Altcoinstalks, and this is my address 3FWdmutJ8pqH9D3VNd7j2BLBUXJv49qZxW (date 31 May '24)
-----BEGIN SIGNATURE-----

-----END BITCOIN SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Someone should verify the message and confirm by quoting the part of my post that refers to it.

Reputation, Scams & Phishing / Conversation with a sincere scammer
« on: May 30, 2024, 01:54:56 PM »
I got this on Telegram, it seems real. Although it is a scam, I had a lot of fun reading this conversation.
By sharing this, I hope that maybe someone will better understand how the scam works, it seems to me a pretty good example.

Crypto Exchanges / cointiger.com is out of business - exit scam
« on: May 27, 2024, 12:04:36 PM »
If someone used this exchange, it's over now.

Recently, scam accusations have started to appear more and more often. I accidentally opened their site and it is no longer functional.

I hope that no one had a significant amount on this poor exchange.

Technical Discussion / Which blockchains are the fastest?
« on: May 20, 2024, 09:20:49 PM »
CoinGecko made a study of the fastest blockchains, it is about daily average transactions per second (TPS)
Solana reached a record high of 1,504 on 6th April.

Interestingly, Bitcoin is only on the 20th place

What do you think, how important is speed and what does it mean for the future of each blockchain?

Bitcoin Forum / Joinmarket.net (discussion) experience?
« on: May 18, 2024, 02:20:26 PM »
Does anyone have personal experience with Joinmarket or at least experience from a reliable source?

After the departure of Samurai and Wasabi wallets from the Coinjoin feature, Joinmarket seems to be the only remaining "free" option.

I would like to get feedback from someone who has used JM. How safe and effective is it in general?
What are the pros and cons here?
Is there a risk here and can developers be prosecuted by the feds?

Here is another service that thought that the right way to gain trust is by leaving fake feedback and discussions
Quite obviously, all registered in a very short period.

Dear, who had problems with verification?Share how quickly it was solved? Or is there no verification at all?

I prefer to use other services, but this one seemed very promising, maybe I should pay attention to it or wait.

Yeah well, the swap already looks good, but of course I think it will be better in the future.

I have already exposed a similar case, now I am not sure if these accounts are sanctioned, but as far as I can see, the posts are not deleted.

Also, if this is not a proper subboard, I ask the admin to move it and possibly inform me where is a suitable place for such things so that I know for the future.

I noticed that I received some kind of airdrops on a Polygon address, although I'm not sure when I applied. It doesn't matter.

Can someone specifically explain what the purpose of these tokens is and why someone does this at all?
I have no intention of dealing with that token, but I see that it was sent to many addresses, I believe that someone will think that they can get something out of there.

The address from which it was sent is labelled as Fake_Phishing3312

If it's a type of scam, how is it realized?

News related to Crypto / Samourai Wallet seized and founders arrested
« on: April 25, 2024, 12:59:05 PM »
For those who haven't seen it
The FEDs are again in action against services that provide privacy, of course, all under the auspices of the fight against money laundering.

A question for the forum moderators, and maybe others too if they have a good suggestion.
I would like to open a discussion about some specific crypto services, I would like to hear other opinions and experiences, but I don't see where would be the most appropriate place for that.

I wouldn't say that they belong to the Technical board, but all other sections deal with a general discussion and are almost crowded with endless topics, What is expected from the bull run, halving, will Bitcoin reach the price of xx...

The two closest boards have a description
- Cryptocurrency discussions - Altcoins & Cryptocurrencies general discussion -no speculations & no ANN
- Bitcoin Forum - Talk about bitcoin BTC - Ecosystem. News, community, mining, technical, etc...

For example, where is it appropriate to start a topic from a specific service from the "ad network" or "payment gateway" zone?

I want to spread the word about the Zenland escrow platform. I was recently accepted by them as an authorized escrow agent, as I announced earlier in the thread:

🔥[ANN]ZenLand - Web3 Escrow & Marketplace 🔥🔥🔥 Arbitrage 🔥

So, what is this?
I need three users who will test the platform together with me, as a trade simulation where the Zenland platform is used as an escrow service and I as an agent.

in short:
> Connect Metamask to the Zenland app (using the BSC network)
> Create a new contract and Invite @examplens as an arbitrage agent   ::)
> Ask @examplens if you do not understand something  ???
> Write feedback on this forum (ANN), and on @examplens agent page
> Confirm when you finished and take your money  8)

What is this task?
Accepted testers need to summarize their feedback in the form of a public report in my ANN. I don't have many requirements, but I would like it to be:

- constructive feedback (in my ANN and also on my agent page on Zenland platform)
- have at least 200 words (screenshots are optional)
- express an original opinion (not based on other reports)

- It is necessary to do the task 24 hours after creating the contract
- Metamask & BSC address required
- Payment will be made through Zenland, after the published feedback

I know it's not a significant reward, but it doesn't require much work. It is more like an opportunity to learn something new.

Those interested can apply in this thread, an authentication post with a username is enough.
All active accounts older than two months are acceptable, except for those with a red dot badge.

A few days ago I read an article, which deals with some well-known cases of theft of crypto assets. Many cases of kidnapping, torture and extortion of people known by criminals to own crypto assets.

I am posting this as a kind of warning, even if you protect your wallet, the problem can come from where we least expect it. It is certainly good advice not to talk much about assets and to keep them as private as possible.

For those who are interested in the source (I believe that these are not the only cases)

Forum Court / 68 posts in one day, user Doovla should be warned
« on: April 09, 2024, 01:00:18 AM »
User Doovla desperately wants to join the signature campaign. I know that he received criticism earlier because his posts are exclusively an application for participation in the campaign, which is one of the reasons why the managers ignored his application.

Obviously, he decided to change this but in a rather wrong way. Yesterday (8 April) he wrote a total of 68 posts, with short breaks, usually one post every 2-5 minutes. (Post history https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?action=profile;u=36763;area=showposts;start=0 )

I won't say that everything he wrote is ordinary spam, but he bumped many threads, regardless of whether further discussion is unnecessary. A bit tiring when it comes from one user.

At some point, I invited him on the chatbox to take a break, but he probably didn't see this message.
I'm not in favour of rigorous punishment, because I believe that he still doesn't fully understand some of the basics of behaviour on the forum, but he should be warned.

Sorry Doovla, you will definitely read this once, but you should know when you are exaggerating. Things don't work out like that. I'm fine if this is just part of your learning process.

Polygon MATIC Forum / Polygonscan so slow?
« on: April 02, 2024, 10:22:37 PM »
Today I happened to notice that I received several NFT tokens on one of my Polygon addresses. When I wanted to check transaction on polygonscan.com, everything loaded very slowly. I must say very slow, in my opinion even unusable.

Is this just me or is it normal?
